UPDATE: Survived Snowpocalypse… barely.
(as posted on our Patreon Page)

I first want to apologize for any grammar or spelling mistakes that Microsoft Word doesn’t catch as I write this, as I have enough Hydrocodone in me to tranquilize a small elephant… thanks to the round of snow we got over the weekend.

We all knew it was coming, having friends who are extreme weather chasers and have access to their equipment and data, I knew it a week a head of time… still, what was supposed to be 3-6 inches ended up being almost 10 inches and suddenly the neighbors were no longer laughing at me for having as large of a snow thrower that I have… regretfully, however, the task of 3 of us working together to try and rid ourselves of it (while it changed over to drizzling, freezing rain) still took us almost 4 ½ hours to clear from our drives and walks.

For those that are really good friends with me know that I’ve been putting off my next round of back surgery, going to try and wait till October or November to have it done… between the two kidney stone surgeries (likely caused by all of the pain meds I have to take causing the kidneys to not flush right) and the wife’s hysterectomy and my lack of productivity on the game last year, the LAST THING I want right now is to suffer even more financially around here and force all of you to wait even longer on product… so I intend to put it off for as long as I can.

If the wife had her way, she would’ve taken me in to the hospital Saturday night because I was BAD… the left leg and other parts of me not working right… that sort of stuff.

Thankfully, she agreed to give the meds time for them to do their job and not take me in as long as I promised to “sit on the couch and don’t move”… so I avoided that hospital visit, but it also means that I didn’t get crap done this weekend like I wanted.

The swelling and bruising is significantly less right now, so going to take it easy for the day (plus I am still doped right now), but will hop back onto the Lynara/Jamima scene and try to finish that up this week… then all I need to do is edit the credits to thank all of you who’ve stuck around and supported us and do the BRIEF Karma scene that will be at the end of that and my role in the REMASTER will be done, except for some minor fixes that may need to be done on my part.

Anyhow, I need to go back and lay down for a bit… I apologize to those who I’ve not responded to yet, particularly the beta testers and those that were counting on me being around this weekend… sorry.

I hope that you all had a better weekend than me (short of being set on fire and used as an archery dummy, I am sure you did have a better one than me), thank you for your patience and I will update and talk to you soon!

~Jack
Take the time you need and do not be to stubborn when your body really does not agree with you. :p

As someone who suffers from constant back pain I truly understand, one must learn what you can and cant do!
Like I tell the people I know that I can do anything I want BUT! it comes at a cost and the cost is PAIN! and how much it will be and how long it will be around and how bad it will cling to me like a wet dirty diaper! That is why I choose my battles just as Jack has done and my hat is off to him, not only has he fought nature along with his body! and He has WON! I under stand this pain as I deal with it everyday.
Jack! you need to find you a comfortable spot and stay quiet for some time and let your body heal some! that is the only way because being stubborn and trying to fight it will only delay the healing your body needs! It has taken me many years to learn this the hard way but I learned it either way, so, I hope you won't fallow my foolish attempts to prove that I am a man, and that I can take this pain, because I failed each and every time I tried and suffered greatly! For my stupidity!

UPDATE: Current Progress & Status! - Feb. 6, 2020
(as posted on our Patreon Page... but with more images for those at F95)

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the tardiness of my update… I needed to take some time to find out what was going on with me and didn’t want to provide an update till I was able to find out for myself to fill you all in and provide you with the solution as well as the source.

Before I get to that, let me assure you that we’ve been working here… myself included, though not as much as I would’ve liked (which I will explain shortly) but have steadily been working over here and churning out one LARGE ending to the Remaster of “Wicked Choices: Book One”.

0spine.png

As I said, my work levels have been sorely reduced, but still steady each day after me seriously messing myself up removing the snow a couple of weeks back… bottom line, I ruptured one of my discs and have two other bulging discs in my lower lumbar region (which you can see on the above MRI).

After a period of pain that never went away and an incredible amount of swelling and bruising on my lower back, the wife angrily told me to call the doctor to get it checked out… so, I did, expecting the process to take several months (as it usually takes with the American Health Care System) but apparently my Orthopedic Surgeon (Dr. Jeffrey Fishgrund) knew that I would eventually be calling him at some point and had my account flagged for immediate attention if I called…

…so, what I expected to take a couple of weeks to several months, took place in a matter of weeks, with an MRI scheduled and done on January 24th and an appointment with him yesterday, February 5th.

THANKFULLY, after much discussion into options available to me, we will be SKIPPING surgery for now and will INSTEAD be going with a Cortisone Injection shot to try and reduce the swelling and pain in that area, as well as, Physical Therapy 3 times a week for 4-6 weeks to see if that can reduce the pressure off of the spinal cord.

Should that fail, then I will go in for surgery in the fall.

I choose this route, as to avoid undergoing a surgery that will have me out and away from you and the game for 6-8 weeks at best, so that I can get back on track with the game(s) for all of you.

cpt04p5_ex_038b.png

Now, before any of you start yelling at me for putting the game(s) above my health, I assure you… the doctor agreed that it would be best for me to try this route first (Injections and Therapy) rather than jumping straight into surgery… and he knows best, as he’s operated on me pretty much 6 times now and is the reason that I am able to walk as it is… so, I trust him and, like him, want to avoid jumping straight to invasive surgery if I can help it… or to postpone it for as long as possible.

That said, I’ve still been working… the guys are going to have a lot more editing to do with the writing as I’ve been understandably doped up on painkillers a lot since my stupid choice to remove the snow like I did… BUT… I also expect to get much more relief and stuff finished one the game(s) once I’ve made the appointment for the Injection and have had it done.

Till that happens, know that I am STILL working and producing and that this LAST SECTION of your choices as Princess Lynara is the LARGEST section of the Remaster due to the choices you will be able to make.

Thank you for your continued patience, your support and your faith in us and KNOW that YOU and our responsibilities to YOU are NEVER far from our minds!

Nice renders, also what that doc might not have told you is that even if strengthening those muscles with careful physical therapy would not help to remedy the pain, it will likely enhance any chance of success with the operation, so be sure you will faithfully do your therapy and do not overdo it either especially in buildup phase. :p Good luck, it will hurt. :)

Yeah, that is pretty much what he said as well... that he wants to be sure that I am physically fit in that area and health-wise to withstand the surgery that I would have to undergo, because it is in an area that he hasn't performed surgery before and will be much more invasive.

But, still going to move forward with both that and get this Remaster done for everyone (and hopefully the next chapter of AoaCB's Prologue) before going under the knife (or scalpel or whatever they will use)... glad you like the renders bud, can't wait till you this this monstrous section!! Blows away the size of Paige's part!!

Glad see ya got that going, and DA22 and your doc covered what went through my melon. Much luck and prayers that the therapy (not a huge fan of what cortisone tends do to the body :S) get you right as rain.

Last but no where near least, beautiful renders!

P.S. I assume the shovels(rakes, and other implements of distruction) were hidden while you were being inspected, detected, injected, etc.

Now, where yours squeal? :ROFLMAO:
So now we've seen your wife and you on MRI and I was thinking this was a porn game not a doctor game;)

Other than that I wish both of you my best and hopefully this year is without a surgery. Also I like to say, don't put the game above your own health as I very much like to have book two and three.
But it seem you are in very good care with your doctor and your better half so my fears are not necessary.

Heh... it was mine, as I couldn't get the default Java one they included on the disk they gave me to work, so had to download a copy of RadiAnt to see what my insides looked like... I think it makes me look thinner!!
That always reminds me of that smoking joke of a smoking skeleton with the text smoking makes slimmer. :p
