After having played the last version until the end i'm realy interested in where this game is going. The narration form is a lot of fun but does create problems for me as a player.

I am a big fan of the player being in the same place in the story as the character and anything that gives the player info that the character we play doesn't have, gives me a HUGE disconnect. This happens in this game several times when characters "think" stuff the MC does not know. Now as the narrator of the story, the writer may know these things but at the time he did not. This made a big problem for me with one part of the game, where i the player got pissed at a character while the MC is not aware of the events that happened. The problem for me is that from that point on this knowledge, changed the way i will interact with these characters from that point on. while the MC should not do this as the knowledge is not his, so in turn the options that are given feel restrictive to me the player but would be fine from the MC viewpoint. ( yes i am a bit of a role play fanboy ).

Finally sexy times is nice but sex for the sake of sex can break the flow of the narration. And in my opinion that is never a good thing. The scenes should support the story never the other way around.

Hope you don't mind a bit of a point here, its your game and i realy hope you keep up the great work as the over arcing story sound realy interesting thus far.

What kind of errors are you getting? Could you post me one? Because if it works for 0.4.2.1 it works for 0.4.2.2. Except that savegames from 0.4.2.1 won't work in 0.4.2.2 and 0.4.3.0 at all, since I had to fix some stuff and everyone had to restart the game with 0.4.2.2

Thank you for the video! What I did was use the ole copy and paste method in which it brought the problems with 0.4.2.2 but not 0.4.2.1 even though I did the exact same thing. I then watched the video did that with winrar and now it works.

I'm personally not answering to your great feedback, because it's for ASLPro3D to answer you on this one But we don't mind criticism like that, it actually helps understand our players better. And it is constructive criticism in every aspect so there's nothing to worry about Thanks for dropping in and telling us your point of view

Some very good feedback, thank you @Nexmanus (love the Kevin Smith avatar) and yes, I admit... I was a bit concerned about people mixing IC with OOC information while playing... but because of the entire scope of the story and all of the little side-arcs and threads that is going on, I decided to take the chance and provide the information in a soap opera style telling.

Being my first attempt at doing something like this, originally, it was meant to only be like an online comic book or visual novel, letting readers decide the path of the story like the old CYOA books that I had when I was a kid, with the intent of hiring a programmer for the second book of the story and make that into the "game" itself... but thankfully, @Palanto Games came along and pulled my butt out of the fire way sooner than I ever thought I'd find some help...

...as a result, Wicked Choices for the most part is slowly becoming more like a "game"... but we are trying to keep the original feel of it for the first book, just with a little more UMPH to it... but yes, there will be both IC and OOC information for players in the first book... the second book is going to be a sandbox, done directly from the MC's perspective and that of Lynara's if people wish it.

Hope that kind of explains it some and, yes, totally agree with you about the sex for the stories sake... which is very, very important to me. To me, this has always been an "Adult Project" that just happens to have explicit sex scenes in it instead of just a "Porn Game" for spanking to.

I am glad that there are some that recognize, identify and enjoy that... or I'd really be wasting my time.

Personally, I miss having my military cut, but the wife doesn't like it... says I look "too mean" and look like "Charles Manson" with a brush cut... so keep it between collar length or down to the middle of my back for her... but, god, the trouble she'd have if I was bald... wow... yeah, I would end up looking like I belong in Poison or some other long haired 80's band if I have to go through chemo!!

Thx, for the response, i get where your coming from that is why i talked about giving my opinion.
The maker of a game has a vision and is trying to make it but some times as a storyteller you can get lost in the details (I know been roleplaying games incuding tabletop stuff for almost 30 years and a lot of them as dungeon master / storyteller / game master so i know telling a good and interesting story is hard ).
The scene in question is realy wel made and the only real problem i had with it as i said is the location within the narration. For the rest again intent is always good to know as this allows for a more open mind when going into a story.
That is why i try not to get stuck in the little things but look at a larger frame of reference and right now the larger story looks and feels nice and interesting. So don't sweat the little things those are growing pains nothing more.

P.S. If its possible to have both the MC's perspective that is realy nice and the convergence of the 2 characters into 1 is always a fun path to walk as you have so many ways to get to the end. Its however so much harder to do without having the player get frustrated with limited choices.
So if you can it would be cool if not, for me, i will understand why.

P.S. If its possible to have both the MC's perspective that is realy nice and the convergence of the 2 characters into 1 is always a fun path to walk as you have so many ways to get to the end. Its however so much harder to do without having the player get frustrated with limited choices.
So if you can it would be cool if not, for me, i will understand why.

I used to do tabletop gaming (D&D back in the early 80's and White Wolf's: Vtm in the 90's), also did LARPs and Online RP (AOL's Red Dragon's Inn & Vtm) also on mIRC... Good times, God how I miss it! Not sure there is a place for a 50+ guy doing LARPs anymore. LOL!! x'D

I was getting a bunch of errors too starting with Claire coming downstairs the 1st time.
I tried to watch the video and it was all out of focus so impossible to follow without volume on and can't do that until later.
What I picked up on was to run 4.2.2 and tab through some of it. So...
I cleared out the update folder and unzipped 4.2.2 again (this is why I hold onto the zips - question from another thread).
Tabbed through to the mini demon on the table bit (a random point answering questions randomly). Very scientific, I know.
Finally copied the update files into 4.2.2 and overwrote everything and the errors with Claire have stopped (no idea on the rest as I'm messing with other stuff too)

No errors here. I duplicated my 0.4.2.2 folder, renamed it to 0.4.3.0. Then overwrote all files with the ones that were in the patch zip file.

Too bad there were hardly any new scenes and merely a lot of talking in the new scenes.

The 2 worlds story where both the main character and the princess( MC from her point of view) are heading into what i can only guess is a coming together of the 2 story lines. There for 2 MC story arc. Hope that is a bit better to understand.
(did a convergences story like that ones with 2 groups for Vtm, the look on there faces when they found out that the competition was a different group of players, priceless)

I don't own a Mac... so @Palanto Games, or someone else who uses a Mac, may need to help you, but I believe it should work like the PC, where you open the file, open the folder within the file, extract into the Wicked Choices folder from 0.4.2.2 and replace/overwrite all files and then you are done.

Glad to hear there were no errors, @Led, but as for the contents... sorry, this isn't a "Full Time" job for me right now and I prefer quality over quantity and what takes place in this patch is pretty important to the storyline...
