I don't have time to watch that entire video, but CHRIST am I glad to see you're reworking combat. Been playing the game some more lately, and got a bit stuck on the bit where you have to bring down Tomomitsu's 3 generals because the combat is just so badly balanced and very, VERY annoying. You have to start off every fight by whacking away with basic attacks to generate enough resource to use a single ability, which are so expensive they use up almost all your points with one cast, which is PARTICULARLY annoying to characters like Nekomi and Asayo who rely on chaining combos of skills.
The extremely limited supplies of healing are frustrating as well; healing items are disproportionately expensive, there are no healing abilities, characters can't heal each other with items, only themselves, and if you order a character to use a healing item and then they get KO'd before their turn comes around the item is pointlessly consumed anyway.
Also, control just straight-up sucks. Normally I play RPGmaker games with my controller, but in the case of Wicked Rouge obviously I use the mouse. Except in combat, the mouse doesn't work; you can't choose target enemies properly. I can't switch to my controller for combat either because it doesn't work; I have to switch to the keyboard to be able to choose targets properly.
Oh, and it's BS that when you bring down a general's first round of bodyguards (which you have to because you can't target him while they're alive) he IMMEDIATELY summons a fresh set of three, ALL of whom instantly get to attack.
v0.8.2
Mei's grandfather calls her his niece instead of granddaughter.
There may be a repeated line when Mei talks about the Red Petal to Fudeyo? (Or I just accidently clicked and dismissed the log or something)
And in the same conversation Fudeyo says tabu instead of taboo.
Also this game really needs a proofreader. There are many small English grammatical mistakes scattered around. (Way too many to list)
E.g.: comma between subject and verb on "That reminds me, Yura, complained about how bored she was the other day."
Or when Umezou says "That comes without questions." That doesn't quite make sense, is it meant to be "That goes without saying"?
edit:
Also another thing: on the event with Fudeyo taking a client's virginity, she asks "what shall I call you?", he answers "Tokiuchi...", and then she immediatly says "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Reiji"
And it seems like there's a problem with Saka's and Mei's "how she feels about me" dialogue, when the button is clicked nothing happens (this is with the Yura rest fix)
I've pointed out a lot of these errors earlier in the thread. Eventually I had to just give up on reporting them because there were just too many; you can't go three lines without seeing some kind of error. Fidless hasn't responded to any of my reports, so I'm assuming the script isn't a priority at the moment. Considering how often they do significant rewrites of large portions of the script (e.g Kisayo used to be your sister rather than your childhood friend) it's understandable that they'd leave cleaning up it for the last thing in the game, once they know there won't be any more changes, but it is still annoying to read. They're going to need to hire a professional script editor to clean it up. I'd offer to do it myself (I do have prior porn game English script editing experience), but I think Fidless is going to wait on it.
