idk who needs to hear this but you can change the lighting in the showroom with the arrow keys, to essentially make a nice bright room or whatever, and it makes the eyeshadow, lipstick, and eyeliner show up, enjoy

This game has the best adult animations I've seen anywhere. I don't know why they need to make it an RPG. Just make it a sandbox or simulator (I realize that's what it is in its current state). I'm sick of all these games trying to do more than they need to. If I want to play a good RPG I'm not going to search for adult projects on patreon. And they're almost never as good as a full fledged RPG. They always feel like half assed mechanics thrown in. It's really unnecessary.
This is not to slam Wild Life. Again these are the best animations I've seen. I'd rather them add to that and add more customization options. Maybe give the characters AI and lots more dialogue. But I don't see this becoming a full open world RPG. Not one I'd play at least.

How it would be implemented and for what purposes, if dev will not add any game mechanics?
What other adult games with game mechanics (even half assed - not talking about visual novels or RPG maker) you played?
Honestly. I think they are in IDENTITY crisis.
The issue is that they have something...
But instead of completing the original vision, they are now deviating to commercialize on pieces of that vision, albeit while changing the focus of what people like about it now.
If I could give the Devs a piece of advise:
- Quit trying to make it like Second Life + World Of Warcraft + LifePLAY + etc.
- Do make it like WILD LIFE.
Do you want to be a trend setter or a trend follower?
Deliver a product that can be enjoyed alone. Once you have that, then worry about connecting millions of people into it.
I can imagine there is a real market for a truly adult MORPG. Make that your where to go next.
But DELIVER the product you original promised.
I think you are stopping short, catering to Steam, Watering Down The Vision, and generally failing to meet your original goals.

Because the devs want this project to be more than what it is. It's largely the devs and a small portion of the overall fanbase who wants this to be more of an RPG with combat and such. Everyone else wants them to focus on the adult stuff. If they were smart, they'd have this just be their adult game. Nothing but the sex stuff, use it as their money maker (once it's no longer patron funded or something) and use that money to develop the game they actually want to make. Rather than struggling along with mediocre updates, that please neither side.
And I absolutely get it too, I'm a dev of almost 9 years now. I've worked on stuff before where, like, deep down you know exactly what it is. But you're not content with that so you cram crap in there that doesn't belong, because you want it to be something else so desperately. Happens on the majority of projects. But ultimately, it won't change anything, and the product as is, suffers for it.
Like IMO, a porn game should require minimal input (but still input it's a game after all, not a movie) as the vast majority of your player base is gonna be playing one-handed. You don't want your audience having to juggle a hard-on and your combat system because one of those things requires two hands and a LOT more brain power than a person is gonna have at *that* given time.
Should just focus this as a sex game, finish it, made it open for modders to support it ( so, free content generation basically) and actually sell it. Then use money made from that to put towards their dream RPG that they clearly really want to work on. Win-win then.

You all just ignore the fact that dev wanted to create porn rpg game. Not just rpg game. Not just porn simulator. There are a lot of rpg games and a lot of Japanese porn simulators. There is no porn RPG. This is what made project popular.

I'm not saying don't add any mechanics at all. A sandbox/simulation doesn't have to mean a lifeless world. But the amount of work that it takes to develop an open world RPG will definitely take attention and manpower away from the adult portions of the game. And even after all that work is put in will the RPG portion of the game measure up to the adult content? Most likely not.
But it's just my personal opinion. I hope I'm wrong because I really like this project.
Any mechanics at all? Breeders Of The Nephelym, Hentai Roguelike, Monster Girl Island, Magical Investigation of Meridiana. I don't know of any full open world adult rpg. But I think it's aiming a little high to want all that and have all those elements be high quality.
This x 1000 been thinking this about every game I come across.

Exactly people are interested because they are hoping for a full fledged RPG porn game not just another animation showcase with no gameplay (which is what it is currently)
I honestly don't understand some people, if all you want are top notch sex animations then just go to pornhub there a millions of them with even better quality than Wild Life. Most are here because they want to see this project turn into an actual game something akin to the devs original vision.
Because porn with context is so much fucking better than simply just playing an animation after the other.

Developing RPG mechanics will take time of course, but we can't treat it as taking manpower from adult portions as all parts should get needed attention. There are fairly good porn simulators already. Honey Select 2: Libido for example. But in my subjective opinion - it get's boring impresively fast. Turn on game - jump into - select situation - fap - turn off. If Wildlife purpose is only that - well fuck - that's dissapointing. RPG part doesn't have to be as impresive as AAA games. Just good enough for it to be engaging - and to insert story of some sort.
Yes, all those examples are low quality games indeed, but even their porn simulator parts are low quality not only other game mechanics. As Wildlife dev was able to reach high quality for porn simulation part - with time they should be able to improve other mechanics, as well. As long as attention will be given to that part, too. They have funding, they have team.
I was very sceptic about Wildlife throughout all last year, but their last posts about story and QA session made me more positive about project. And it is dissapointing to see immediate critique that is mainly - dev should just make porn simulator.
Sadly thats the way it is. You cant make them all happy. If they keep making it just a sandbox porn viewer thing the RPG crowd will complain that its not a real game and they should add story and quests and gameplay. When the dev then works on those things the other people start to complain about the exact opposite. From the QA session it seems as if they are set on getting both aspects of the game developed so the sandbox and story mode will both have their place.

That is the only thing I hope for. Even if it will be slower updates - but for us to see improvements for both "sides" of the game with each update.
"Porn RPG" is a broad genre tho. You can absolutely make a pornbased RPG game. But what they seem to want to do, is focus on the RPG side of it, so that the porn element just becomes a gimmick they used to get funding.
As I said, people are going into this thing for the porn, in order for the product to do what it says on the tin, it can't then jam game mechanics in there that actively stop the player doing what they came here to do, so to speak. What you don't want is a player jacking off, who then has to stop because of combat or because of something else actively impairing them from enjoying the game and themselves.
It's like starting a porn film for there to be 20 mins of backstory and character development that you can't skip. Anyone would just turn it off. Because that's conflicting design.
Now, if they effectively add a "creative" mode, where you can do just that, then who gives a shit because you get the full propper game-game, for those who want to play a game. and you get the porn elements all in one easy to access and enjoy place. Win-win that way. Or a cheat mode of sorts, to just bypass the gameplay that would get in the way, so you can do the character stuff and the other elements that still fit a porn game.
