There are people unironically thinking UE5's Lumen and Nanite are helpful software? I thought it was a joke
View attachment 4268862
I watched the whole video and he showed alternatives, but only for specific reasons, he didn't outright claim that there were options that beat nanite or lumen in EVERY way. Just generally in performance. Even towards the end of the video he leaned into the other side of things providing his point that we need a better option in some cases, not that there currently IS one. (His main suggestion being an AI setup of some kind).

Nanite and Lumen both were never really regarded for being a "better performance option" among devs but rather a way to reach an incredibly high fidelity at obtainable performance and it is. It's hard to run, even on modern machines, but it was higher fidelity than we had achieved before when it came out. He's right that 5.5 isn't as big of an upgrade for (nanite), as that update barely touched nanite. But for "megalights" it's a massive improvement, which I'll assume is why he didn't touch on that.

All in all, I completely agree with him, and I sort of disagree with you. Because they are useful software. When seeking a performance friendly game, your brain doesn't shoot for nanite or lumen, but when seeking high fidelity, and you're already used to working with unreal. It's the best option. Lumen beats (good baked lighting), because of workflow and the fact that lumen is always going to be better non static scenes.

To say they aren't useful software is quite misleading, but yes if people are claiming they're the best performance option out there, they are lying. Agreed 100%

is the game still just an open sandbox with animations, or does it have any content that you can actually play
There is gameplay, but it's still in development and current progress likely won't be added to the game until it releases on Steam next year. It's still worth playing to see what is currently there at least. The sandbox mode lets you make stuff, whatever you want to, it's not only animations.
still a sandbox, and its holiday time so the devs will take 3 months of for "Vacation" so don't expect anything else any time soon.
Are you mad that the devs are going on holiday vacations to be able to see their families, and possibly to comply with local laws if they are in a country where it's mandatory to have holiday vacations? The way you put quotes around vacation makes it sound like people don't deserve to have lives.

you can follow their patreon updates or join their discord to see posted updates as well. There is one more December dev build coming out which I think has some new combat stuff and some more quests?
but if you want a full game you're gunna have to wait till it's (eventually {tm}) done.

That is exactly how they think!

He is splattering millions of lives all over the keyboard, table, walls and floor. So you best be hard at work slaving away for the content they will pirate for their multiple daily goon sessions.

Might be too late for you, but I prefer go file. It doesn't have any limits and has been as fast or faster than mega for me.
Thank you. I normally wouldn't bother anyone but this is a huge file so the download speed is critical since its gonna take several hours.

P.S. Oh yeah that was the right call. Im getting almost my full internet speed on the download from GoFile.

Is there any modded content for this game? Outfits are lacking hard
There's a mod manager that was made. Try looking up WLMM or Wild Life Mod Manager. Made by Lucky. There's a mod there that adds 20+ outfits for Maya and Maya like characters.

Wasn't he talking about LOD's in that case? There is a way to do those. It's manual. It's always been mostly manual. The trick is being resourceful with your assets and not having 10 thousand different pipes that look the same anyway.
megalights
Megalights is the biggest piece of shit known to man. Anything that takes more that 2 frames to take effect is a piece of shit. Irrelevant crap. We had amazing lighting all the way back in 2016 without this BS megalights, because people were willing to actually work for that lighting, and lay out their game plan to then optimise things without throwing in crap on the fly that breaks / disables optimisation.
Because they are useful software
they are, for uni students trying to cram for a project to finish it in unreasonable time on dangerous doses of cola, not for something that I'm going to be paying 70 euro for.

I was mindblown when I've played Crysis 1 back in 2007. Crysis 3 in 2013 blew my mind again. After that, for more than 10 years the only games that came close to having same effect on me were two Horizon games on playstation. It feels like for every % of visual upgrade we need 10x more hardware power. But changes in visuals are barely noticeable. I blame this on shitty tech like these and lazy developers. Every time something good happens it is used for exact opposite effect by lazy developers.

Do you guys remember when DLSS was supposed to give us more frames and for a time it actually did? But nowadays it is all about cranking visuals to the max(by adding any new tech such as MEMETRACING, GIGALIGHTS, NANIKE) then adding DLSS for that sweet magical "optimization". Developers became such lazy fucks they aren't even aiming for 60fps anymore, 30 is good enough for them, DLSS will magically turn it into 60 anyway! Oh look, enable framegen too! Now it is 120fps but it not only looks worse than Crysis 1(2007) but ALSO plays worse too(input lag thanks to framegen, have fun!).
No way around it this is the best and should be only take on the matter.
Games get more and more expensive and publishers complain about the cost when they're the ones who decided for us that we wanted MOAR fidelity and super duper real life faces. Gaming peaked and we're on the other side of it. Not that I don't think there's plenty of good shit but the good shit is being made by devs that remember what the peak was like and that it's not actually impossible to just do that again.
I love the advancing tech in the industry but pushing the damn limit should not be the standard for EVERYTHING.

Hello everyone, this might be a skill issue on my part, but is there a way to start sandbox-like animations during campaign? Or maybe have npcs already around in the sandbox?

So I am just getting back after playing Carnal Instinct, the game has some similarities to this one, but focuses much more on the actual game part. It's so not worth it. The actual meat of the porn game, the animations are quite bad. Took me a good 2 hours to find too. Making a mediocre game with a side of porn makes no sense, unless you were extremely confident in how it plays. I am very grateful this creator at least can make some sick animation loops.

Also I see a lot of people here complain about the creator making bank, what like 200k a year? Why would you complain? There are literally thousands of workers making that much or more. Why not complain about fuckin uh, detnist, attorneys, engineers, or whatever the fuck lmao. It's not like they suddenly woke up and stole a million dollars, people are voluntarily supporting them. If they don't deliver less people will support them, it's that simple.
Now, if you wanted to argue they are drip-feeding content in a controlled way similar to how some seasonal based free-to-play models are being put out that would be a better argument. But really I don't see that. Yall are all pirating it anyways so why tf do you care lmao

Hi, thanks for the game. Got a question related to sandbox... Is there any possibility of the player character possessing a sex scene without the intercourse settings immediately popping up? I'm aware that you could just use the same preset as your character's for that specific scene and then disable the character and so on, but that's not my intention. I'm essentially developing a mini game using sandbox and I want to have my own custom scene progression system, similar to the campaign with a dialogue system. My dialogue system is already in place and it works but when the player posses a sex scene you lose control over all that and you're forced to unposses the scene before doing anything else. I've tried messing with the controllers but it causes issues further down the line. Any advice is welcome :>
