I fully appreciate the massive effort that is required, and that you have put in so far, and you have my respect for it. I am trying my hand at making a game, and especially as I am trying to do it all myself, it is an almost impossibly massive task. Please don't take any of my comments to mean that I undervalue the work you continue to put in. Errors here or there are inevitable, and you have to deal with many conflicting opinions (mine included) about what should and shouldn't be included or removed or changed. Please keep up the excellent work.
No worries, I didn't interpret your criticism as an attack; I believe it was reasonable for you to be concerned about the points you raised, hence why I thought I should explain some of the things we have been dealing with internally.
I really appreciate you saying that, thanks!
the last release was october, and youve been teasing Cho's last game for a while. it seems like every update things are taken out to make room for new details, but so much great stuff is gone.
Also the extra characters in the game feel like they have been added too quickly. Astoria and Susan exist for one storyline and then do nothing, Luna has had her character stripped away in recent updates and many pieces of clothing seem to be missing. The original point of tonks was to sluttify clothes and now thats gone, she only has public favours, and a wierdly close relationship with Cho.
Also is there any way to bring back Astorias old art, or reuse the old Daphne art for her, because Astorias constant scowl is just boner destroying.
Except for the removal of Luna's storyline, everything else in the game has been revamped and reintroduced, with new writing and art.
When compared to previous versions, Luna's wardrobe never has been better; in fact, she has acquired lots of new new clothing on top of the old ones.
Tonks' clothing upgrading feature was never finished, and it only worked for 2-3 outfits, but we added those extra variants as a bundle to the relevant outfit.
Daphne was never in this mod. I think I can mention that we plan to improve Astoria's facial features a bit to make her more expressive and likeable.
Unfortunately this is something I'm learning as a content creator who's slowly gaining popularity, myself:
Fans when you have a small following: "Your stuff is great! Hope to see more from you! Keep it up!"
Fans when you have a large following: "You're not making shit fast enough! Make it faster! Faster! And tailor it exactly to fit my personal fetishes, because everything you've made is shitty. But make it faster! And better!"
Love your stuff. Take all the time you need, because I haven't been disappointed yet!
I would be lying if I said that negative comments don't hurt, because they do, but as a content creator, it's something you have to get used to. Whatever you do, someone will always be dissatisfied with the route you're taking, and my only advise is to simply keep doing what you feel is right, read comments and ponder them, but don't allow others tell you what you should or shouldn't do. It is futile to try and please everyone.
It can be difficult to read negative criticism, but if you disregard personal remarks and condescending tone, it can be valuable at times.
In general, I prefer to focus on the positives of having a community, such as people enjoying playing your game, speculating, making suggestions, or otherwise communicating with one another. It's like having a large extended family! Yes, it can be a dysfunctional family sometimes, but no family is perfect, right?
Sometimes all it takes is a level headed conversation to set our differences aside, and the closer you are with your community, the better.
Thank you for your kind words, and also thanks for listening to my TED talk.
