Hey this game looks interesting, but I have a question. Is the harem in this game open and honest? As in, as of the current update, the girls in this game at least knows that they are all with the same guy and they take time to discuss their relationship, and they accept the fact that they are in a harem. Since I'm just really not into a game that has the Mc being with multiple women and him hiding his relationships and the girls not knowing each other for half of the game.

Yes to an extent. There are several groups that are associated with each other that openly know amongst those groups what all the others are doing with regards to Aurum. And Gillie immediately encouraged him to get to know all of the others the same way he was with her.

I think the only character who is insecure about such things is Wither, and that may change as she opens up and learns that Aurum truly does appreciate her for her and not just as a way to get to know the other dryad (whose name I'm blanking on at the moment). Anyway, hope that helps.

There is no NTR and they all (as far as I remember) mention they are ok with sharing. As there are to be 49 love interests, we won't be making variables for all the different checks for who you choose to spend time with.

The main story is straightforward, with little to no branching, but the sidestories are where you spend personal time with the girls (or the one guy), which are mostly independant. Some scenes need to be seen in the story before you can progress with some side stories, but side stories will have little to no impact on the story, due to the massive numbers of variables we'd have to do.

I see, sounds good, but just one more question. How much content does the main story has compared to the sidestories? I'm the type that play these games more so for the romance and dates the Mc can have with the Lis and I always go for all the girls that I can get in the harem. It doesn't really matter to me whether or not their sex scenes or not, I just like relationship development after everything is official.

Well, we're still early in development, so you'll have a few hours of main story(if you're not speed clicking through) before all the current side stuff is unlocked. It's very story-rich and none of the side routes are done as of yet. There are H scenes for some of the girls, though.

EDIT: Not as early development as I had assumed, sorry for any confusion. We're into Season 2 of 3, but stil plenty of work to go on the side stories.

So the main story is in Season 2 right now. Season 1 has 6 Episodes and Season 2 just released Episode 4 for Supporters not too long ago. It'll hit free public release in a couple of weeks.

As far as side content goes, the game opens up in Season 2, giving you the ability to choose who you want to hang out with during little Free Time segments. I'd say there's a good bit of side content done, as there are at least 5 girls I can think of that are up to their 5th side story scene. Several others have 4 scenes or less, and this next patch will take 4 more girls up to the 5 scene mark. WCA will have its 4th anniversary in June, so we've been at this for quite a long time. I want to say S2E4 had about an hour of playtime when I tested. Not every episode will last that long, but I'd estimate there's something like... maybe 6 to 8 hours worth of content in the game as a whole?

Also, as Phoenix said, there's no Netorare or Netore in the game. I.E. nobody is cheating. It's pretty well understood that you're being shared, and sharing yourself is encouraged by a few of the girls, because you're playing a character who is seeking to make an emotional difference in the lives of those he interacts with. You're someone who wants to make people happy above all else. You start off with some flawed thinking and an attitude that is by and large a little too passive, but that's part of his character arc and these things do improve over time.

Starting in Season 2, I began separating the romance and date-style encounters from the main story, relegating those to the Side Stories you can experience with each character. So Season 1 plays in a very linear, kinetic novel style, and Season 2 plays more like a visual novel with a tiny bit more choice. I'm an author, not a coder, so I wrote what I knew for Season 1. Season 2 shows all the progress I've made as I learn more about coding each release. Also had a LOT of help from the community on things like the Free Time system.

Thanks for the interest!

[ACCESS/PROGRESS REPORT] T2 Access A Day Early

Well. It has been an INTERESTING couple of weeks.

I like to do early releases when we get signups and, well, we have gotten some, but for some reason we're bleeding support as fast as we're receiving it. Which is confusing to me because we just released a whole Main Story Episode in only a month after the last patch, and I thought faster updates would mean people would want to stay on 'cause they're receiving more content more often. But that assumption seems to be incorrect. Maybe people are dropping off because of tax season? I dunno. You see games like Eternum and Summertime Saga making $40,000 and $70,000 a month and they put out updates what, twice a year? I would LOVE to know what they're doing that's working so well for them. Either way, we have gotten SOME signups, so T2 Access is coming a day early, and the price on Itch is dropping to $5. Below is the rest of the release schedule:

  • T1 Access: 1/23/25
  • Public Access: 1/26/25
Also, here's our progress report on the next patch.

image_2025-01-18_184351177.png

I got all of Tilai's scenes written, a couple more done for Senia, most of the planning for S2E5, and we've all done a bunch of work on the next Pinup Pack, which is gonna be a very special one. We were aiming to release just before Valentine's Day, but we seem to be way ahead of schedule, so more people will be able to enjoy it sooner.

We'd also really appreciate if you'd open this Google Form in another tab and fill it out once you've played through S2E4. We haven't done a popularity vote for a while and we wanna do a pulse check on the community for the Core and Secret characters. Thank you in advance!

That's all for now. Thank you all and enjoy!

[ACCESS] T1 Access and Upcoming Pinup Pack

About that time again. T1 Supporters now have access to 1.4.0.1, and anyone else can get it on Itch.io for $2. In a few days, it'll release to the public for free. I'm excited for y'all to play it, 'cause I worked really fucking hard on the coding for this one and did some things I've never done before.

Those interested can get it here:

Speaking of stuff we've never done before, I think I've spoken before about the next pinup pack, the Team Passions pack. See, we got together on a Discord call and did a draft of the girls we wanted to do pinups of. All four of us. The only rule was that there needs to be at least one shot for the public and one shot for Supporters. And I wanna show a little preview of the amazing stuff that's come out of this.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

This is gonna be a massive pinup pack. It's already got 77 total shots in it, and that's only counting mine and Necro's. I allowed them to get as spicy as they wanted, too, so look forward to that.

Anyways, enjoy the story and we'll be back in a few days for the public release.

[PUBLIC RELEASE] 1.4.0.1 Goes Live, Plus Future Plans for WCA

Hey, all! You know what time it is.

First, new public build download link:

Season 2 Episode 4 post play survey:

1.4.0.1 adds a whole new Main Story episode. Season 2 Episode 4, the full episode, all in one update. This is a really weird episode, and we get to explore a bit of Aurum's past and what made him who he is today. Should hopefully help explain why he made so many judgement errors in the first season. There are a lot of things he's doing wrong, and this episode acknowledges that and the fact that he has lessons to learn if he's not going to repeat his mistakes.

image_2025-01-26_005608417.png

I will say, some of this is based on my own life. I wasn't sure whether or not to reveal that, but I decided to just come out with it, as real experiences make a character more believable. That, and it's nice to get some of this stuff I've been sitting on out. Specifically, the scenes that are black-and-white flashbacks are not scenes that were made up. Those are things that really happened. I was on the fence about including them at first, but I figure, fuggit. Just go for it. This is the story I wanna tell.

On a lighter note, this is probably the most code-intensive episode I've ever released. There's a lot more "game" in this update, and though I don't think I'll be doing it again, I came out of this with a LOT more knowledge than I went in with.

Onto the news! We've ironed out the future of WCA and our next project, Goblin Roommates. To be blunt, WCA was the worst, most difficult way I could have ever designed a game, with each scene being meticulously shot image by image. Goblin Roommates, on the other hand, will be using a hybrid of sprites and shot renders like WCA. This will make the conversational bits go MUCH faster, as I only have to make the sprites once and can reuse them forever. But I'm still going to shoot full renders for really key moments and for H-scenes.

And that brings me to the future of WCA. Don't worry, I promised it'll never be abandoned, and it won't be. But doing the game the way we've been doing it is EXTREMELY taxing. So I made a decision and sort of planned out the last few episodes to bring the Main Story to a close. I dunno if I should spill ALL the details or not, but we believe the main story should wrap up by Season 2 Episode 8. After the main story is complete, every patch will focus on adding more Side Story scenes to the girls until all 21 Core girls and all 7 Secret girls have full, 20+ scene Side Stories. We'll also be working on the DLC love interests, as well as holding giveaways of DLCs in the Discord so those who can't afford to support can still enjoy them. Once all 49 characters have full 20+ scene Side Stories, WCA will be a completed game.

While we're working on Side Stories and DLC for WCA, we'll put the time we would have used on WCA's Main Story into Goblin Roommates instead to get some good practice with the sprite system and solving that rendering bottleneck that keeps our updates so slow. Once we've gotten the hang of that and put out a few updates, we'll likely do a poll on whether or not people want more main story content for WCA. If so, we'll do Season 3, the Counselor Arc, as an expansion you can just drop in the original WCA's folder to play, or skip that idea and go straight for the Ambassador Arc, which would involve individual world expansions with new love interests. But as of now, the plan is to close the main story with solving Ms. Clements' problem and finally taking down Willy. WCA has a ton of content already and a ton of love interests, so I'm not sure we really NEED more. Also, finishing the main story will allow us to go back and reshoot a lot of those old renders with the bad lighting so that all of the game really matches well instead of having that jarring transition between two lighting styles.

ANYWAYS I've droned on long enough. June will be 4 years that WCA has been available to the public, and knowing we're nearing completion feels really good for a game this massive. We still have a ways to go, but it's been an incredible journey so far and we thank all of you for coming with us on it. We have a lot of ideas for new projects and we're ready to create something that's easier to work on. But for now, enjoy the new episode, and don't forget to fill out the survey when you're done! It's got a popularity vote in it and we could really use your input on who the best girl is!

Thanks for the post. If I remember correctly, you have mentioned that you have adjusted some scenes in Chapter 1. So, replay the game is worth it. Keep up the great work. :)

It is always great to hear your plans Vic and experience the banger story writing pieces you drop with every episode. Played it 4 days back and am still replaying it as wow so much happened in this one. just loved it fully. As a supporter could not have asked anything more and expect you get more financial support on your platforms as you, the team and the entire cast of WCA deserves it, quite a fantastic piece of all the right elements are present. So yep once again it is a treat as a supporter indeed!

Thanks for reading Dev, best wishes for ahead:)

I understand that everyone and their brother LOVE having a phone (for some reason I just don't understand) in their game. But you REALLY need to clear the chat log before it's shown. Not only is no one gonna scroll up to read anything, but it actively slows down the game. All the "texts" that aren't on screen are still taking up space and rendering, you just can't see them. If you REALLY want the history aspect, having a screen that is ONLY for the conversation history is easily doable. But Every. Single. Time. That damn phone pops up the game's like "Lol bitch you thought you can read at your pace". I get it, phones exist and we want relatability to extend to the player. But not at the cost of performance. If you need help with this, I'll gladly help. But this really needs to be worked on.

So trying to save Ashley throws you into a time loop... Not doing perfect in Cecilia's trial throws you into a time loop... Would have been better if there wasn't one true path with looping jokes along the way as the joke gets stale as the cycles repeat :coffee:
