I wasn't going to Lol. I'm not going to give away anything, because as you said, it would ruin the suspense .
It depends on the person I'd say. I for one love spoilers, because they either make me want to see the story even more, or don't make me, which saves time. Anytime an interesting looking movie drops I read the plot summary before watching it to decide if it's worth it or not.

I get what you're saying, though I just don't want to give out what I have planned anyway, and have it out there. I want you guys to be surprised and enjoy the ride without any assumptions or preconceived notions =]

There's a huge difference between a plot summary and spoilers though imho. But yeah it is person to person.

Personally I hate spoilers on anything that's really caught my attention. Like game or movie franchises I love. Though ones that I just think oh I'd like to watch that or I'd be okay with playing it but don't wanna buy it game wise. I don't mind spoilers on as I really am not invested. I could've murdered people spoiling like game of thrones or other series I was heavily invested in. WITHIN A HALF HOUR of the episode airing. xD

So incase of this game, I'd not want spoilers at all. As I'm interested to see as it goes, not just a passing sure this is okay. lol

I also know many people that would watch an entire game playthrough, then buy it and play it themselves. I prefer first time blind myself.

So far i like Torry's carefree attitude and her character design and love the curly long hair on her (I'm a sucker for long hair).

Yeah, cancer is a bitch. I had that experience, helping caring for close relative of mine. Witnessing their health deteriorate in front of you and having those moments getting scared when you can't clearly tell if they're breathing when you see them sleeping just like in the game. It being like only thing you can do is try to make them as comfortable as possible to ease the pain and spend as much time with them as you can and enjoy your time together.

Hey SuperWriter do you know on your in the Hunger for Chaos section, when you click "Torry" it also shows photos of Jade and Piper?

Also, for your future visual novel games, any possibility of a Dark/Brown-skinned Male MC/Black Male MC?

Lol Dude, Avenger's Endgame was spoiled for me the same day it came out, so I can understand being pissed about that. Also had GoT spoiled me too, so yeah, I'm right with you. I rather go it blind myself at first, but I understand not that everybody's like that

I'm glad you like Torry! She may be one of the most fun characters I've done, but there's definitely a lot more to her than being carefree, you guys will see she's a complicated person =]

And yeah, man. That's exactly why I chose cancer for the dad. It has affected me, you and sooo many others. I want people to really relate to the story.

Thank you for the heads up on my site!

And I'm so happy you asked me about any future characters being black because when I wrote the novel this is based on the MC is black. I myself am black and feel like people of color don't really get to be the MC that much.

So why did I make this MC white? I feel like most of my audience is white? I may be wrong about that, but I wanted them to be able to relate, instead of just shoehorning in a black character because that's what I want.

BUT, I will have POC as the main characters in future games, whether that be Asian, Indian, or anything else. It'll be random

How come you want to know about future ethnicity of the characters? Just curious. Again, I'm happy you asked

Yeah, waiting for MC to ask Torry about her past and possible reason for her behavior.

Curious myself and I recall you mentioning you're Black in a previous post and thought i'd ask. And i'm black too by the way . Personally, It'd be a visually refreshing change of pace and added variety for more Black Male MCs and/or Brown/Dark-skinned Male MCs (It could also be a fictional race) in these 3D visual novel games. Me to, it mainly notable with games with interracial scenes where it's always a white/pale MC with a girl who's Black, Asian, Hispanic, a mixed-looking brown-skinned girl, even fantasy races (elf, demon, etc.) or alien races. Nothing wrong with that, i still play & enjoy those games, but it makes me wonder why not have a game with the interracial scenes be with a black MC once in a while and have it be in a romantic, vanilla, consensual portrayal. As it's a rarity to have them as the protagonist and without the stereotypes and cliches seen in pop culture & regular porn.

When i say stereotypes and cliches, i'm referencing to things like stories & videos putting emphasis on the guy being Black and racial comments, speaking slang a lot and only looking like a rapper, street thug, or bald fitness trainer , and being mostly associated with cuckolding, swinging, gangbanging, netorare content. Games with black and dark-skinned female characters don't have this issue, just regular girls with a darker skin tone, well aside from having 1 or 2 overused hairstyle models ( , like the overused , but for dark-skinned girls ). In most games featuring a black guy, he's either those stereotypes plus being a villain to the MC trying to steal & corrupt the MC's love-interests or he's the MC's friend that helps MC during the story (might ask MC to help get him laid for some reason).

Only games here i know with a black MC are "Starship Inanna" (male or female option), "Connected" (mixed black MC), "The Dreamwriter", "Heavy Five" (recently rebooted with the option of a black or white & male or female MC) and "SWe1: The Warrior's Heart".
"Rocking Robin" (formerly known as “Rocks N Robin”) originally had a Black MC named Robert and a few black girls too, but backpedaled apparently after some not so nice remarks just after the demo release and remade it with a White MC and mostly white girls.

I believe anybody could have a well-written good, competent main character who just happens to be black/some shade of brown/etc. plus an interesting story. And then it won't feel shoehorned in. The only people i'd guess have a problem with it are those who need to self-insert themselves in every aspect of a game.

I don't know if there is an equivalent form in the english language, but in Germany we learn something called "Inhaltsangabe" (closest literal translation would be: "summary", but technically I would say "synopsis" is the better translation in english for what is really meant) in school with certain rules to follow:

- brief overview of the story
- objective as possible (no place for interpretation or assessment)
- no revealing of the arc of suspense

There are some more to follow, but thats the most important ones.

In short I would describe it in english as a "brief spoiler-free plot overview".

Something most VNs could use I guess to show what it is about for players who look for a bit more information and what to expect, than the very brief introductions (which are of course used to increase the suspense on purpose) you find on most OPs in each thread here on the forum.

Just to be clear, I don't demand anything, was just thinking about the last posts here while reading about the whole plot summary and spoiler discussion and that did remind me about my schooltime...even though that's already quite some time ago ;)

I completely agree with everything you just eloquently stated. pretty much every game I've seen here with a black guy is about him being a thug and having a huge dick, or whatever else stereotype. I promise you that will never be a problem for my games. If I create a character, they're going to pretty much act themselves whether they're white, black or blue.

Appreciate your comments, dude =]

Check a plot summary on wiki for a movie, it spoils the whole thing.
Yeah I guess imho summary should be spoiler free, but I guess a better word for that is synopsis to be less confusing. Since summary can go both ways. So I'll retract saying there is a huge difference but there are spoiler-free summaries too. Wikipedia though agreed, their plot summary literally tells you the entire script usually. Didn't even think of that one.

"Rocking Robin" (formerly known as “Rocks N Robin”) originally had a Black MC named Robert and a few black girls too, but backpedaled apparently after some not so nice remarks just after the demo release and remade it with a White MC and mostly white girls.
Yeah that confused me to no end. They randomly decided to change race of MC and such. They even did a poll I think? To see which was more preferred or were considering doing both but I stopped following when the 2nd release was the same story with just new MC. The white MC didn't seem to fit the story imo.

To me personally, I'm white as paper. lol As long as the MC isn't being a dumbass in sense of over the top stereotype, etc.. I do not care and honestly wouldn't mind having an MC that isn't white since everyone falls to the white MC a lot. Though a lot of people I'm sure prefer to be able to picture themselves in the MC's place. I'm just playing a story/game and I don't care who I am. Female, Male, race, goblin, whatever. Long as it makes sense.

So if SuperWriter you do make a MC of another race in a future game once you've finished these or one of these if you keep the work of two up. I will happily play it.

A trend nowadays, especially in movie trailers is showing the entire movie plot, which I just think take so much away. There's no surprise or suspense. When you play my games, I want you to go "Holy shit!" I want you to think about the next update and what could possibly happen.
That's from a Creator standpoint though =]

I really appreciate that, man. There are some who won't play a game because they don't like the color of a characters skin, so I know those type of people won't like my future games, but they sure as hell are going to miss out on a good story.

I'm glad you'll be sticking around because I got some good shit planned, dude. I promise you that =]

Yeah only way I wouldn't play a game with a character of a different skin color is if it was too stereotypical or such. Such as a black mc that is a gangster, that won't stop saying the N word, has a dick the size of an arm, etc.. Not because it's another race, because it's not an interesting character or story even borderlining being racist. Which you, yourself already said you wouldn't do. I remember trying a game a long time ago with a black MC, I am not even kidding when I say every single sentence the MC said had the N word in it.

I completely understand were you coming from and there isn't anything more annoying to see after being at the cinema, that all the important scenes and the plot was already revealed in the trailer of a few minutes length and you just wasted 2h watching not really important or essential scenes without any suprises or turns of the story told.

Just wanted to show there are ways to do that, but that means more work, because thats not easy if done right. Of course don't know if this effort would be worth to reach more poeple, people who need a bit more to be hooked. In the end just some curious thoughts from myself after reading some post here. ;)

Regarding your projects (Picture Perfect of course too!) I'm hooked and waiting to see more of what you want us to show and tell! (y)
