I bet he's furious that he can't take advantage of the covid-19 situation. People are forced to work form home if they want to keep their job in some places. So he's staying home, like everyone else, with his "rendering farm" and he has all the time in the world to "work" on his game. Wonder what the next excuse will be.
It's clear he's just winging it at this point.

With such blind devotion, I don't think it matters whatsoever what excuses he manages to conjure up. As we have seen, his devotees will never falter.

Wait, is he going to release the full game or is it going to be parts like the original that are released every so often? My mind is blown.

I'm honestly surprised he didn't use covid as an excuse yet. I thought for sure he'd use it as an excuse for the oppposite reasons you said. I thought he'd say something like he and his "local staff" couldn't work at the office and all the computers and what not are at the office so it caused them to fall behind. Who knows, maybe that'll be his next lie.

He's said the game is supposed to be 3 acts, 10 parts each. This is the 10th part of the 1st act, just 1 part of 30, and he claims to be working on it for almost 2.5 years. Over twice as long as it took him to make the first 9 parts. It is insane that his patrons actually believe he's working on the game.

Holy sh*t! I honestly thought all this time he was going to release the full game not just parts of it. Ok, well now I'm changing my mind. The people who support him are insane.

I'd argue that it's generally unwise to support most projects.
Dual Family is an egregious example of this. Over three years with an average monthly revenue of at least $6,000 (ramping up over the first year, then coasting from $10,000 down to $6,000 now), he has gathered well over $200,000.
He still has nothing on titles like Summertime Saga, which by quick calculations has gained over a million dollars in revenue and is nowhere near complete.

People have been pledging $20 monthly for 2-3 years now and haven't receive a completed game yet. Think about how many games you could buy with $240-$360. I don't think that rewards are all that compelling and other than some unhealthy addiction, there's no reason to spend that much. (Full disclosure: I support games now and I have supported more in the past. I can't find DF in the list of my past subscriptions on Patreon, so at least I wasn't tainted ;-) )
A lot of small studios have started, completed and released larger and more ambitious titles in less time and at lower budgets. Patronage as a funding model is untenable, but it's apparently running just fine as of now. It's an open question whether and when it falters and fails.

It wouldn't be any less insane if the scammer told you tomorrow that he will release the full game. The evidence would be the exact same, the absolute abscene of any work done the same, the accumulated lies the same, the shilling by his Discord minions the same. The idea that whatever this scammer says should influence your belief in this not being a scam is ludicrous. Scammer's words don't matter, look at the evidence: https://f95zone.to/threads/dual-family-v0-98-ce-gumdrop-games.1870/page-467#post-2398851

I will say it again, if this guy was Russian people here would never give him the benefit of the doubt and the thread would be considerably more aggressive towards the scammer. But since he is an American con artist instead, people think that whatever he says isn't a total lie by some weird reason. Ultimately, time has proven them all wrong, as I warned them. Those who insist on defending this scam at this point are bad faith actors.

People get disillusioned with Russian games very quickly. They're repetitive, have no original story and the Engrish is so terrible that it pulls you out of the game constantly.
Plus it's obvious that they are only after your money and have no interest in making the game (if they can't monetize it after 2-3 months, they pull out).

In comes Gumdrop and makes a game that has different graphics (makes use of sparse backgrounds, uses background defocus, graphics are consistent, though he definitely overuses Dutch angle), an interesting story, believable characters, good English and the developer engages with his supporters constantly.
He filled the demand with promises of a game that was not present on the scene.
In hindsight, it's no wonder that Dual Family succeeded in pulling in so many people, for better or worse, and now people are hooked on it and hoping to get it to completion.

In the end, I suppose that this is the only remaining motivation driving Gumdrop's supporters to throw money at him. They think if they pull out their support, Gumdrop will abandon the game and it will never get completed. At the same time, continuing to support him makes him complacent and he'll never complete his game anyway.

I think the best option for the game to get completed now would be if somebody messaged Gumdrop and licensed his intellectual property for a share of profits (50-50 would be generous to Gumdrop) and then completed the game as Gumdrop intended (in 21 remaining installments).

Yes, was wondering the same thing when Google told me about the summers in northern hemispheres. :)
Uuuhhhh!!! I am dying for this game.

Might wanna dig your grave now.
There is more proof it wont come out than him actually working on it.

I enjoyed the first 9 but after a year it was obvious there was no head way being made here.

I bought this on steam when it hit there , I prefer to support when a project is finished but now regretting that choice lol.
This game has no future , the time for anything more to come has past.
Dont take this as me being a jackass.
But dont put hope into something fruitless.

There are so many scammers on Patreon. The Patreon system encourages devs to milk patrons, and they keep doing it because of all the idiots that keep paying anyway. I'm following like 7 or 8 games and almost all of them with delays and delays yet the chumps keep paying
