I'm pretty sure the locked room in Bella's house is her husband's room where he kept his military gear and shit. We saw those boots underneath the door which might be his. The theory that it's Bella's room when she was a kid doesn't make any sense. Why would she even keep boots from years ago? Wouldn't she just throw them away? Her fashion senses say otherwise.

It also makes sense because Bella kept the door locked because her husband hasn't returned and any memory of him makes her break down which is why she keeps it locked. Any other theory like it being her deceased child's or her own doesn't make sense in terms of storytelling and logic.

It's locked because Bella doesn't want other people (MC, Jill) mess with the things inside.
She doesn't want to remember anything to do with her husband's military service which is most likely why he hasn't turned up yet. She doesn't have any issue with pictures because those are good memories unlike the room filled with military equipment or clothes.

Just because this room is now being used for something else doesn't mean that it couldn't have been hers as a kid. There's only one bedroom, if she lived there with her parents it would make sense to have a room for her. As for the military thing, that guy looked nothing like James, could be due to lack of male models though.

Some non-theory talk. What did you think about the sauna scene with Bella? As much as i enjoyed it, i also felt conflicted, especially if you pursue both Bella and Jill. Bella has been pushing MC towards Jill, she gives her blessing for dating and all that. Just moments before she asks Jill about the date and learns that it went very well. Despite that she's willing to go quite far with MC. An argument that has been made before for others and can certainly be applied here is that they are only dating and not in a relationship, so it's ok. Still i couldn't help but feel that in some ways Bella is betraying Jill.

you can't do otherwise. the game pushes you into this situation. Jill will have her date with MC at the tennis club whatever you do, and you can't just hang out with Bella

Personally I ignore Jill at every opportunity so focusing on Bella in my neutral playthrough holds no issues. Maybe she’ll remove her blessing in such a scenario, revealing what such an Mc is really like to Jill.
