"I've been working on an update for a VISUAL NOVEL with more or less 1 hour of content(past updates took me even less than that to complete despite being falsely stated that they're longer) for MORE THAN A YEAR while being paid ~5k a month.

I'M SO STRESSED GUYS"

I don't feel sorry for his patrons because if they're still supporting him they deserve to be scammed.

I feel sorry for the honest, hardworking, talented devs that have nowhere near the same support. It's not only unfair but it also hurts the reputation of adult game development as a whole. People become less willing to support new projects because of crooks such as these.

(6/13) QUICK UPDATE ABOUT CH4 PROGRESS: Hi all, sorry it's been a few weeks since I posted anything. As many of you likely know by now, when it gets close to release time, I usually will put my head down and grind through it, and I don't always communicate as well as I should during this time.

Unfortunately, while I thought a release sometime around the end of May or beginning of June was likely, we had a minor setback that cost us about 3.5 weeks. Alorth had to make a family trip to Portugal, and his DAZ3D library did not properly sync to his laptop before he left. This meant our only option for him to get work done while he was in Portugal was for him to sync his files remotely. Of course we attempted this, but due to slow internet it simply didn't sync in time and during this trip he was unable to get any renders done.

Thankfully, now that he's returned from Portugal we are back to grinding out the remaining few scenes from the chapter. The good news is, I expect to be able to give you all a release date soon, and the wait won't be much longer. Sometimes, setbacks like this can come at the worst time, and all we can do as developers is apologize and try our best to make up for lost time.

While Alorth was gone, I made sure to get some extra work done on the chapter (such as additional coding and testing. I also did some work on the scripts from CH5). Regardless, I'm sorry this happened, especially when this has already been the longest wait for a chapter. I have been immensely stressed about it and explored every avenue to try and make up for this lost time, but it was out of our hands.

I'll keep you all posted and get a CH4 release date to you ASAP. In the meantime, enjoy the wallpaper of the cute and mysterious Mira.

im sorry but portugal has good internet connection.
Not only that, I also didn't see Alorth around here.

Jokes aside, optical fibre yes, it's decently good. Mobile services and/or cable without contract are somewhat expensive, personally I have no idea why that is so expensive around here. 1 GB is around 4,99 EUR for example.

so got first chapter and next two in a year and 3 months and nearly a year later almost another one? Hope its the size of at least two of the other chapters. Always thought patreon should auto stop all payments if no progress is made for a year on projects and let people know they need resign up if they want to continue and why it was stopped.

Not where I live it isn't. For a rough estimate of the cost of things in this country, triple that and add half the result and you have the rough price of Gigabit Ethernet in my country. And that's just for the connection. Doesn't factor in TV or phones.

I work on telecomunications, I can assure you that 1 GB is 4,99 EUR on most plans for mobile. And read my comment again, I separated both mobile and Ethernet. Ethernet with 1GB is around 38-42 EUR.

Anyway, that's still cheaper than spending on Radiant. At least you get something.

For mobile that's expensive too.
I pay 10€ and have 30GB and the rest I don't use gets added to that the next month.

- Such junk developer , everything is escuses for this , that he need the nasa to help him to find his files . they say. oh may oh july oh nov , ... pardon my english but this is T R A S H

when most developers more down to earth do 200 to 300 renders a month on their free time , after 2 years they get better qualityon their waor and all that stuf , but well guess those 1 k fanatics need thei medall for such faith on this .

- what will be the next excuse ? he broke a fingernail ? new wallpaper ? next update will be next year december 2022 . ...

Not defending the other dev at all but everything Alorth is associated with takes needlessly long for minimal gain. Dude has like 10 games hes working on concurrently. Updates to his main game is like 15 min of new content per 6 months with recycled scenes.

Why didn't Dammed bother to say anything about a delay until now? The "final" progress report was in March. They're well behind with or without Alorth's vacation. All that post says is they didn't do anything for a month...while not pausing payments.

I'm not saying Alorth didn't go on vacation or his laptop didn't work, but that's not a reason to not say anything about it until now and continue to take payments while nothing is being done.

Also, the gap between this wallpaper and May's wallpaper is about 5.5 weeks. Which is 2 weeks longer than Alorth's vacation, they've had plenty of time to make up for the delay and to inform their fans.

It makes me wonder how many times this type of thing has happened and they didn't say anything.

The real question is why are people still getting surprised about this?

It was like this since day 1.
