i could only read the visible part of the statement as i'm not a patron and couldnt see the whole thing..this is all i could see

tl;dr: I finished A Tale of Eden and will start developing a new game with improved code, graphics and everything else.
Developing A Tale of Eden was honestly a spur of the moment thing. I had talked about the idea with friends and then suddenly decided to

tl;dr: I finished A Tale of Eden and will start developing a new game with improved code, graphics and everything else.
Developing A Tale of Eden was honestly a spur of the moment thing. I had talked about the idea with friends and then suddenly decided to actually do it.
So I sat down and began to learn. I had experience in writing and as a longtime Tabletop roleplayer knew my fair share about developing game mechanics. But everything else was new.
Starting in February I learned 3D modelling from scratch and put Ren'Py on top of that mountain. It is probably needless to say that I was in over my head, but I knew that and it didn't bother me. I did almost abandon the Idea at several major roadblocks along the way, but a good friend always helped me get back on track.
So now it is Mai and I am finally combining all the building blocks to build A Tale of Eden, but I didn't have endless time. So some things fell short. Either for creative reasons, like little plotting beforehand or technical problems like missing the skill to realize my ideas in Ren'Py or Blender.
I was still happy with the result though, it was what I could do at that time. But that was five months ago and I didn't stop learning during that time. So now I am working with pretty bad code in Ren'Py, way too clunky 3D environments and I probably don't need to mention the character models. I am gonna do it anyway though. Modelling my own characters after 3 months of Blender experience taught me everything, but it can't produce the best results.
Along that way I also made plenty mistakes. Without noticing it I used A Tale of Eden as a training ground for everything I learned. Which led to inconsistent mechanics that switched every episode.
So, now I am here and I finished a Tale of Eden. Maybe a bit hasty, the story is obviously not finished. But I made sure the ending is reasonable and fits into the overall picture. I might come back to it at a later date, but I won't promise it. I am sorry if this upsets anyone and hope you can understand my situation.
I will continue, with a new and drastically improved game. I will share as much as I can, as soon as I can. But this will take a while. I hope you all stay tuned for that!

The link posted by ThunderRob isn't a patron only post which is why you can go to the link and read it. If you go to their patron page you'll see that the post is for everyone.

Master of Puppets

I would say either or since they said they finished it hastily which could be seen as done or abandoned they might come back to it later.

So is this 'On hold' or 'Abandoned'?
It is actually finished. On my Patreon it is already episode 04. The update will be public on the 17th of October.

And yes it is a short game with a somewhat hasty ending, as I explained in my post. I might come back, but I don't want to commit to that. I am sorry if that annoys anyone, but I just couldn't keep working with the bad foundation I build half a year ago.
I got much better in every aspect of development and need the space to make a game where I know I am giving it 100%.

I have seen too many reworks horribly backfire, so I commend you for that very wise decision. And you probably don't want to work with some half-measure abomination code.

You have showed us that you have the potential to make something really good. Do what you must, take your time and plan it ahead, take a break from time to time. But my only advice would be that do not publish the game until you have a consistent plan for each updates, until you're somewhat sure how long each update takes and how long the whole game will be.

I liked the general aesthetics of the game but lacking animations was a big disappointment for me. So I guess trying to learn the animate the scenes would also be a pretty good place to start.

I am just a consumer, not a creator. I don't know the first thing about coding or rendering etc. So I don't know how long it will take to do these things. I wrote these from the viewpoint of a potential patron.

Animations are actually a big part of what I am doing now. I learned to use Blenders new render engine and can now easily make animations even with my old PC. The scenes in episode 04 are already animated with 25fps and the new game will follow suit.
