There's an item that looks like the drink called "Accelerant". IIRC it's in a room somewhere near to the north. If you use that first it'll let you light the fireplace afterwards.

Damn this game is brutal difficulty wise, wish there wasn't so many random encounters because it really makes me lose track of what I wanted to do.

Man am I conflicted about playing this. I am a total wuss when it comes to horror but everything I've read about this game suggests it's really good. Maybe I should wait for a walkthrough that's easier to follow...

Btw I went through the ulmf thread and put together some walkthroughs scattered throughout the posts.

I used the RPG maker save editor and just pushed all of the party bonus stats to 9999. It pushes everything to a OHK and makes it easier to focus on the rest of the game.
Japan had way more gay shit in media than the west prior to like the mid-2000s or so. Don't act like they're cavemen just because western culture went from eww gays icky to EXCUSE ME THIS IS A WOMAN'S PENIS AND IT BELONGS IN THE WOMEN'S RESTROOM at lightspeed.

So. the engine it is using is rpgm after all? Or was it just coincidence that a save editor for that worked on this game as well? I finished the prologue and i'm very conflicted on the obtuse nature of this thing. I might wait for some solid walkthrough or even cheated saves like you have now.

One hell of a game, really difficult and nerve wracking... Needs a scene walkthrough though(or tips), I took Mia with me and somehow managed to miss her second CG already...

Staying out of the shadows helps a bit, but yeah the encounter rate in this game is pretty brutal.

, because this thing has some really hardcore shit in it! You will not live through it if you can not handle the tags, trust me. The artstyle might lessen the scare factor of it, sure, but it also has sound, so it will get you with stuff at some point.What I did to fix it was go into the folder under graphics-> Windowskins and then I copied 24 and renamed the copy to Letter_437. The crash just occurs as a result of attempting to look up something that wasn't there. Whatever it's supposed to be probably didn't pull up entirely properly as a result of the change I made, but it let me get through without crashing.
