That kind of freezes happen to me too but rarely and when I restart the game it's ok. Seems to me like a random bug.
Every time I download the full better repack version, I get corrupted files. For context, I'm using the MEGA desktop app. Any advice as to how I could fix this?
get the repack via torrent.multipart archives are more prone to get messed up

Are you sure you have the correct game folder location?
--> short named, on top of a drive (possibly not C:\), example D:\AI-R15

As I understand your "old" AI was working well and you got into troubles with switching to the recent version (R15)?

Clean new download, something like year ago i erased all AI data from my computer and now i downloaded most recent repack from torrent.
After new unzipping, instaling the same optional mods everything works great.
I dont know what caused problem

And you don´t get it running?
That´s completly unusual, cuz a BetterRepack - especially torren downloaded - should work well out of the box.
Particularly you had no old UserData/Mods to transfer so far.
If you insist knowing the correct game location I definitely have no clue what´s wrong with your game

Maybe run the batch-file "[BR] AI-Shoujo Registry Fixer.bat", that will fix the install dir path in the registry. (You'll find it in the game folder). If your game is running without issues let it be.
Or better new "install" instead of fiddling around in Registry.

Can someone please tell me how to install this game. I've done everything that is in this tread and none works. I get error 0x80054005, cannot used same ressource for destination, no archive.... I swear I've never seen so many errors trying to install something.

Actually AI Shoujo BetterRepack R15 you always get the latest download links from here

The extraction is very tricky and error prone, so it´s strongly recommended torrent download.
