What I am saying is that they can most certainly have an opinion that is based on the results of a product that drew them in. They can also decide to stop that support and decide not to support future products.

I have plenty of experience as I have been a developer for over 20 years. Done plenty of work, where I get community support, in a similar fashion. I know people don't donate to me because of my wonderful charm. No, they donate and support because of the products I have put out and the service I provide for them. So, I know quite a bit how the "dev support" works.

Look it's really simple. REALLY SIMPLE.
Unless you've contracted with a dev for a specific deliverable for a given contribution you are only supporting the dev's lifestyle. Sure you hope, or maybe expect, that he or she will use your support to further the game, but you have no accountability. Absolutely none! You have no recourse, other than to suspend your patronage. You can't recover your past contributions. You literally handed the dev money without any constraints.

I fully understand that most patrons support a dev because they are engaged by the dev's work. But I can assure you that some support a dev for reasons completely divorced from the game.

Hedylogos. You say you've enjoyed "community support". Local community support by people you know? Or support from faceless folks on the internet? Big difference. Because support for these VNs is the latter. I think it's a demonstration of your honor that you consider it an obligation to meet your supporters expectations. Seriously thats exactly the best that anyone could expect. Sadly, that is not the case for many game developers. To be clear I do not put Ptolemy in the group that fails to act honorably.

My point is that there is no enforcement for a lack of performance. So at its base patrons support a lifestyle and hope for the best.

What kind of ending was that? Developer took what was a fantastic story and completely ruined it with this last update. So many unanswered questions and you just stop it like everyone knows what is going on.

This is the equivalent of a running back being on the 1 yard line with the ball, time running out and nobody anywhere near him. All he has to do to win the Superbowl is take one more step, but no. He just takes a knee and sits on his ass.

Pulled my Patreon support. You will never see another dime from me. I hope others do the same.

I suddenly feel so stupid and beta in the game..
Yuri overtaking the Agency, having bigger dick. (Just seen MC sick in the sun studio with Alice.. looked micro.. lol)
I am just driving around and do what others are telling me..
I don't see the MC being a gangster and working to get some respect... mhm.. I hope he develops and shows that he can be so e mob boss or whatever...
