I played Marvel ultimate alliance 2 on PS2 got a PS4 a couple of years ago saw a remake of it bought the disc hated the game but still played it unlocked everything I could then after that i neither hated the game nor loved it then I had no opinion of the game it's going to be same for the people here they will either hate or love it

I kinda like the new art I'v seen so far but I understand some of worries I'v seen brought up, I'll have to see how it actualy look in-game and how it all mesh together to really judge but so far I don't have a problem.

Especialy since so far every 'improvement' and overhaul (like for the fighting) has been pretty cool.

How's the Patreons' feedback? Are they liking the redux? I'm curious not only about the art but also the overall changes to the game.

The whole purpose of doing a parody is to put characters people like and are familiar with into unusual situations. The more the characters look and act like those in the source material the greater the immersion and enjoyment of the parody as the player's fantasies come to life. I know every artist has their own style they're comfortable with but it defeats the purpose of doing a parody if the characters are changed too much, be it looks and/or behavior, and the anime style faces are not sexier than the character's original face designs.

I think we're gonna take a hard look at the general reception to the game, from the people who liked the changes, to the people who hate them, and all the way in between. But I can't make an official stance on the designs themselves without setting promises or giving expectations to you guys I can't fulfill, just being one member of the team.

All I can say *personally*, is that I like the changes better from the original art. I think they look better and are more dynamic. But I wish something had stayed more true with the facial stuff to be more on-brand with the style from the show. Again, that's just been my personal opinion, and it's been birthed out of also hearing a lot of what you guys have said as well.

The portraits of characters and the lewd games are now being sourced to Psymind, so it's not like they're being drawn *differently*, it's just a style change because of his work. I feel people should raise their (shortened) thoughs on the Patreon page so that GZone can respond and see it, if they believe that what the game is doing now going forward to be such a departure from people's preferences on the characters.

GZone has also agreed with people that say "Oh, this probably wouldn't have bothered me if the game looked like this from the beginning". Which we think would have just been too much of an undertaking even for the redux, and something that might have been too jarring for the fans.

as someone has mentioned a few posts up this isnt summertime saga, these arent oc's this is a parody and the style of what you are parodying is a very important part of it. so even if the over all art is technically 'better' better comes down to personal option, like personally i dont like the new style but thats just my opinion. however regardless of opinion every step away from the source material makes it worse as a parody and even if its just during the sex scenes its still several steps away from the source style. i can understand wanting to use the style for several reasons but i firmly believe this game shoulda stayed as close as possible to the source in all areas and this new art style should have been saved for a separate project, one based on a series with a similar style or better yet a completely original game so the art can stand on its own properly.

and in regards to the 'voice your opinions on patreon' i know you say that with the best intentions but i could see a lot of people takin that as 'if you wanna have an opinion then pay us' besides iirc you cant even post comments on peoples patreon unless a post is specifically made open to anyone or your a supporter, i could be wrong on that, but if it is how it works then youre telling people to support you on a game they dont like the direction its going in to voice their opinions that likely wont change anything since yall are deadset on doin this from the sounds of it. if anyone can post comments there regardless of if their a supporter or not then this whole paragraph could just be ignored but i still feel comments here should be takin into consideration as well, id always just assumed you were like the community manager or somethin and thats why you were so active here and the feedback people give here you tell the others about so they know how people were reacting to things or if there were any problems like bugs and stuff

^ 100% this if a person is playing this cause their a fan of the series then making it feel as much like the source as possible is a crucial part of the experience and while some people are easy to please and will like the game no matter what changes are made and large number of people will dislike or even hate changes like these cause it worsens the over all experience

I agree with everything ReaCreations said. At the very least, a poll could have been made first for a sample of the new art style.

I believe the majority of people who play this game aren't Patreon supporters. I understand wanting to please your supporters first. But, there's nowhere except here for non-supporters to say how they feel about the game. I know because I created a Patreon account to comment just on this game a few years ago yet it said I had to be a supporter to do so even on a post that wasn't locked.

It's sad because this game had some of the best parody art and animation out of all of the parody games, along with FET. Now, that new Paulina art is just horrible and doesn't look like her.

I'm gonna state that I was not myself aware that you HAVE to become a Patron in order to comment, I personally think that's an asinine rule and shouldn't be that way if you allow it. Nobody should have to pay a cent to comment on something publicly. So scratch that.

Okay, so I'm not gonna ask who does or doesn't LIKE it, but I am going to ask you guys your opinion on this and *this* alone for the moment: "What specifically is so egregiously terrible and off-model about the design that you guys wish was more like the original? What could be changed about the current design/poses to make you guys go 'Oh, well it's different still, but doesn't make my eyes bleed with disgust anymore completely'?"

Cause I don't personally want the fans to be upset, that's not been our objective with this update, unlike some of the speculation that's been so kindly vomited into my DMs as of late... I just want an idea of "Hey, I didn't like this, but here's what I don't like about, in detail" and not somebody just saying "The old art was better" or "this art is bad". Because personally, just my opinion, I haven't felt that way, the jump from the old to the new one has not been completely jarring to me, my suspension of disbelief does in fact stretch that far. Again, just personally.

One thing I know for certain, the next game that Team Bieno produces will ABSOLUTELY start with one specific style and stick with it all the way through to the end. We have learned our lesson by this point.

While a parody needs to resemble the original characters (and they do), it is also sex game and needs to be sexy. The new Paulina looks mostly the same, but softer and curvier, and less 'child-like'. Looking forward to seeing more of it to really judge, since it is hard to say with the one image, but so far I am positive about it.

Yes it should look more sexy but for the first time I'm sticking with this Pepe Guy. It should be more like the pictures he sent from the sexiness. The new Paulina seems more like a side character from a normal porn game without parody aspect. The new Artstyle is too drastic with it's change.

Unfortunaly as it seems the opinion from the patreons have much more weight. Means, if they like this art it won't get changed again.

sorry to basically parrot myself but im goin to use your comment as a kinda 'official statment' for myself on it, not gonna try speakin for everyone but anyone can feel free to like/heart my comment if ive summed up your thoughts well enough as well to show you agree with me or leave a sad face/facepalm on my comment if you disagree.

a parody, at least in my opinion, is best when the art style, character/world design, and writing is as close as it can be to how the series youre parodying can be because, at least in my case, like it should feel like you could believe it would be something right out of an alternate timeline in the actual series...you know if it werent a kid show in this case, if that makes sense. im not playin a parody for mindless fap material im playin it to immerse myself in a porn game based on something i love...and to fap to it of course.

the issue here is the art before was fairly different from the show, even goin as far as replacing poor sams perky pyramid tits with 'normal' ones, but despite that it was still pretty close to the show. the character designs where still accurate and the art style close enough to get by as a "well as guess this is as close as itll get with a parody but at least its close" but this new style doesnt resemble the shows art style at all, as someones pointed out before its like some anime style, and that just doesnt work here cause of how different it is to the shows style, at least in my opinion it doesnt. not to mention based on the teaser of paulina the characters designs are barely recognizable as themselves which, in my opinion, takes a lot away from the immersion and experience.

ill also remention that i believe the style shouldnt have been changed here and instead should have been saved for the next project for a series that already has a style similar or better a completely original game so the art can draw the audience itself and not have the draw back of bringing hate cause its too different from the source like would happen with most parodies using it

as a side note ive seen arguments made that "the shows style isnt good for porn cause its not hot" and 1. thats just untrue, ive seen plenty examples to prove the shows style can be hot and 2. in my opinion a 'good' parody uses the series style and makes minimal adjustments to make it hot, like said examples ive seen, some of which have been posted here even, and if someone is actually a fan of the series and lookin for a porn game its my strong belief that they would like the tweaked show style just as much if not more then the 'sexified' anime version the new art style looks like

My friend, I get the issues you've raised, as many have raised them before. About the choice to change/redo the art at all: that's done, it's what we're doing, it's our decision to do so. The style change? Yes, completely get that it's different, not what it was before, but in my opinion, not to the point of unrecognizability. But again! We're here to possibly accomodate, or at least listen to the exact thoughts people have on the art.

But my question again was: What SPECIFICALLY do you, as a player, not like about it? We need actual concrete examples of what it is that people dont like about it, if they want the point at least raised. That provides us the means to go "Okay, people seem to not like xyz about this art, let's see if we can go about modifying xyz." Explaining to us how the enjoyment of parody works best does not help the art department. I've appreciated people providing photos to show what they like about the style and look of DP porn, but I'm looking for exact comments/suggestions that help make what we've done look more like what the fans enjoyed about the show we're basing this game off of as well as the game's original art.

To make this as simple as possible, as an example: If you didn't like that we gave, say, Jack Fenton a purple suit in the redux (we didn't), instead of his classic orange, you'd provide something like "I think Jack's design would look better if his suit was orange again, like it was before."

Concrete examples, that's what we're after here.

Every artist has their style, so change artist and there are going to be some changes no matter how well someone can copy someone else's style, and of course the people who pay the bills will have more say, that is just a given.

To me, it looks like a super HD, dream sequence style, so I don't get it. But then, we only saw the one frame, we should wait and see it in action. Give it a time to get used to it. It's not like they did with Eve on StS, where they even changed her natural hair color, making her look less like her sister and more like Roxxy, Pauline still looks like herself to me anyway.

The eyes m8... the eyes.
They're such an important feature of the face, it's what draws attention.

It doesn't help that in the source material the eyes are just big, circular or oval shaped.
But it's kinda what makes those characters be those characters.

In those two samples, that's kind of the main gripe I have about them.
The bodies have to change anyway since the source wasn't really intended to be "sexy".

But the eyes... I see those pics and I don't think "Oh, hey, that's Maddie/Paulina" I just think of some random chick cosplaying as them.

I think the main issue is that the new style feels less cartoonish and more anime-ish...
Which seems conflicting, and even counterproductive in this particular situation.

Art isn't bad, it just doesn't feel like it fits here.
