I think the dev made a mistake with the whole Nea suicide thing. That will end up being tons more work each update. Will also have to continue the story from two perspectives (alive or not), so players might start getting less content per update.
That is always to be expected when you put such a big narrative branch in the way. Unfortunately, not all devs get to find it out before it's too late.
I've never tried the branch where you don't pursue Nea, does she kill herself if you don't go after her?

Yeah... It would be way easier to just keep her in the story and have her just being friends with the mc. The updates for this already take a long time to make, we don't really need more things to slow down the development.

As I understand it, it's heavily implied that she jumps off the roof of the building, but it isn't shown outright. This happens either if you're on the friendship-only path, or you decide at the store that you're not romantically interested in her.
Well that's quite the bummer. Suicide is pretty hard topic to handle in best of cases, but in porn game it might cause some backlash easily. Also even if i wasn't going after her and played the friendship only path, i would at least hope MC could make that much difference.

I mean there was backlash already because Nea is a trans girl. I think the plan was most likely for you to be able to be friends with her if you didn't want a romantic relationship but since people were complaining so much about her being trans the dev probably thought "you don't like her? Ok if you don't want to pursue her, then she just dies and you don't have to deal with her anymore and complain all the time that she is trans".

then they shouldn't be playing this game. Luxee has been very clear that this game centers around Nea. the critics here are being pretty pathetic.

You have been on this forum for a while now, you should know that there is a lot of people that enjoy coming to these threads and complain about dumb stuff a lot more than they enjoy playing these games.

Some of us had no problem with Nea being trans...we did,however, have a problem with the hamfisted suicide bs. We also got a few slaps on the wrist for it lol.
Never understood why people got to bitch about stupid stuff, if something isn't your cup of tea, there's no point in attacking developer when you can in most games either ignore the thing or just go on and play other games. Best guess i got why someone would hate character like Nea to the point of attacking developer, is that they are so bigoted that they can't stand when others have likes of their own and possibly bit self-hating for actually finding the character something that draws them in, which goes against their own self idea that they are 100% straight only. Bit like those religious nutters that hate gays because their religion says to do so, while secretly fancying them.
(Just to point out, this message is not in any way targeting specific individuals. But if you felt insulted or attacked by this condemnation of people who attacked dev because they had trans-character as one of the big LIs, you might want to think about why you are so toxic and can't let people be themselves)

That's the main issue I have with it, romance Nea, or suicide, no befriending option.

This is me. I thought the character was well written but broken, she needed love and support to find confidence and grow as a person. MC's cock would have just transfered all of her self-worth to the MC. Which is not healthy for either of them. Plus, the particular way that the romance was supposed to start was very unsettling. The fact that she takes a leap after the MC doesn't romance her demonstrates how unready she was for it.
I still kind of hope that her jump gets retconned into something less permanent, so that the MC can pursue a healthy friendship with her.
She could always join the Harem later.
