I once met a truck driver who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Between robbers and money convoy guys. He got shot by a shotgun. He told me he had to change job ( the type of truck he drove) because after his physical recovery more than a year later he had panic attack when he was doing deliveries to a place and a money convoy truck, of the same company of the guys that shot him, was parked beside his.
Do you think he is a pussy for having anxiety attacks when that happen? Mental trauma is no joke.
MC is not traumatized by girls, only by Cass and even then in a later discutions with the therapist they talk about his improvement. Trauma all affect us differently, so jugging the MC on his weakness only is doing him a disservice. He is getting better as the game goes on proving to be a mature adult able to face his problem and resolve them rather than burry them inside and pretend like nothing happen. I find that ''manly''. (More like simply mature.)
I also have example in my life of a man talking of manly behavior and manly ways to rise a child and we (his coworker) are telling him that for the most part it his hindering him and his happiness. He looks like a early 20something years old while nearing 50. So sorry for not sympathizing with MF_Doom, but if he want to talk about manliness he will have to elaborate what he mean, because, for me, when I hear that, I hear ill placed pride, and rejecting your problems rather than face them. No wonder the average lifespan of men is shorter than women.
