I still like this game, even w/all its technical issues. It's not the unmitigated disaster many have called it, but it can be a helluva lot of work at times. There's so much potential here w/the story and the models but the game needs cleaning up. Speaking for myself, I think this version is less buggy and better than the last version but one thing is clear, you simply CAN NOT advance in this game w/o cheating. Be it money, food, gifts, bikinis, the damn car running out of juice, or whatever, it's just too much work to manage all of those resources in a very, VERY, if not impossibly unforgiving network of different mgmt systems.
A few general comments for dev.
1. WALKTHROUGH: This game is complex, maybe too complex. If the posted walkthrough is not a dedicated "Remake" walkthrough, it's almost useless. Yes it has good points and some good direction. But after playing both games and knowing "roughly" where things are, using the old game walkthrough while trying to play the new remake does more harm than good, especially for a new player. Stop what your doing and update the walkthrough, or at minimum, remove it from this thread until someone can author a better one.
2. BASIC MATH/METRICS: As mentioned ad nauseum in this thread, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE improve the game's metrics. The basic math needed to achieve in-game goals is simply impossible w/o cheating and believe me I've tried. If I had my way I would have killed food and that #$%@ing energy cell at the onset of the remake altogether.
3. SLAVE SYSTEM: I don't have near the issue w/the slave system as some but the logistics of the nav/work/rest/clean/etc. needs to be improved. This is an area that requires WAYYY too much work for the general game player. Also, the "Slave Menu" should be more obvious. I didn't even know it was there buried until I started exploring and at that point I already had Tanya, Vanessa, Karla and Jaye.
4. DELIVER THE HOT GIRLS: Mary, Karla, and Jaye were godsends! Thank you. Now aside from recruiting Red as a wasted mini-game asset, PLEASE do something w/the chicks in the tavern. They're all immensely hot and their potential has gone wasted for far too long. Same can be said of the club bartender, club waitresses, the pizza place girl, the principal, any of the teachers btw, Ruby, Katerina, Camila, Astrid, Freyja. The list is endless. Nothing against Sophie or Carol but they are bench warmers at best w/the other talent this game has to offer.
5. BATTLE SYSTEM: I have no clue why the battle system mini-games are in this game at all. They are a time-consuming, irritating grind that should go away yesterday. If there is some merit to them in future updates, fine, but if so, it ain't worth it.
6. WTF?: The phone newsflashes after class are INFURIATING! Losing $1000 to $5000 for absolutely no reason after laboring for days to cobble a few bucks together is a penalty that needs to go away. If you're going to randomly kick me in the balls for $5000 then at least have me randomly stumble onto a bag of $5000 unmarked bills every once in a while.
7. GENERAL DIRECTION: I've spent a lot of time w/both games. I don't mind grinding at times but this game grinds too much w/o knowing what is going on. Again, I believe a solid walkthrough would eliminate 3/4 of the problems players have at simply finding events and triggers. I've accidentally stumbled across major scenes and events while exploring that I had no clue were even there. For example, I landed on the entire Mary story by chance. I used my brain to explore but there were events that were entirely accidental. It shouldn't be THAT hard to progress storylines. Not every one is willing to grind at that level, or take the time. The quest instructions are a good start but quests are just part of the navigating/storyline experience. Perhaps a hint system of some sort?
I do hope the dev keeps moving forward. I'd hate to see this game fade like many others.
