Ok, Guys, Guys...
WTF.

Pretty much every day since this episode came out i saw people talking about how Sage reverted all of her character progression, ruined her character, etc - please explain wtf did i miss and what were people talking about?

Since she is tied for first in my book, i posponed her to be last and nearly forget - it was a really nice route!

Eh.

Sage is/was my main girl since season 2 when I switched off Maya (who had become unbearable by that point), but I kind of agree with people being disappointed in her last few episodes. I'm not sure DPC knows what he wants to do with her, and frankly, I've said it before a good portion of her dialogue and Quinn's feels like it ought to be flipped. Instead of adding depth to the character, the constant back and forth between super wild slut and deeply emotional girl (with a healthy sex drive) is starting to give me whiplash. Which Sage am I going to get today?

It's not about the quality of the sex. Frankly, the sex scenes in BaD are extremely well made, but I care so much about the characters, its much harder to objectify them. Which is great. But it also creates a problem with a work like this that is more than just porno. This isn't the only character to have this problem either. Different girls jump personalities from scene to scene rather than slowly growing or deepening.

I think I understand what he was going for with Sage, he just did a shitty job of conveying it to the audience. Sage starts out as a 'slut' and then reforms to a good girlfriend in our mind. But that's not it. Sage is an adventurous girl (its one of the things I like best about her). She starts the story in a shitty relationship. But you don't save her from it. She rides it out, because of her own issues until it collapses and then you're there for her after. But Sage isn't turning into the good girl she was always meant to be. She's a hound and she's finally found the ideal partner to explore all her impulses with (you). She trusts you. She wants you. But she also wants you to help her discover all the things she would have felt shamed for for the past few years. (Chad guilted her over her high sex drive, remember?) From this context, the story makes a lot more sense.

But its delivered poorly, Sage shouldn't have opened up emotionally to the MC so soon. Instead she should have told him in Ep8 that she wants him to be a fuck buddy and nothing more.

Not only would this have made her distinct from all the other characters (sorely needed), but it would also have made it much much harder to choose her. Which gives the choice e more narrative weight. Down the line, she would open up more (the stuff we saw in season 2 and more still) climaxing (heheh) in her finally admitting that she WANTS to be in a real relationship with the MC.

I think it's time for DPC to admit some of his failings as an artist (which isn't to say he isn't amazing, but no one is good at everything). He writes good concepts and dialogue and decent plotting, but the man needs an editor. Someone who helps him smooth out arcs between scenes and keep characters consistent within their own voice.

Well, of course the MC is telling his story and its kinda a "flashback". Read the introduction of the game again... "let me tell you what happened" thats the sentence you see before the game really starts.

Overall, i think he is telling us about his first year on college and after the first year is done, the game will end with a view on the present and a little ahead in the future maybe, based on the choices of course.

I had a different approach in mind too... like the movie american beauty. Maybe, and its a BIG maybe... the MC will die at the end and is just telling his sotry of his last year alive... but i have no "proof" for that, just a gut feeling... many many books, movies, stories starting like this where the protagonist tells a already happened story, the protagonist gonna die, is already dead, or facing death.

Those phrases where he talks like everything already happened and he is just telling his story are at several points of the game.

Well it is certain though that the MC is just the storyteller about his time at college and everything we see already lies in the "past"

Doesnt really matter much for the time being. But its already a heads up to how the game ending can be made.

And because its a story of the past, it does explain more that we can see so many scenes without the MC in it... cause in the end, he knows those things after everything happened the way it does.

This way to tell a story which already happened is a easy way for an author to go over plotholes especially about things the protagonist cant know about if he wasnt there... but if it all lies in the past, of course somebody could have told him after all, or something.

Overall DPC isnt really following those approach though... sometimes he jump to a phrasing where you can assume that everything already happened, but most of the time telling the story like nobody knows shit. If you tell a story like that, sometimes a "narrator" is needed. But this is missing here. Mqaybe cause DPC doesnt care about it, or he want to set up the illusion everything is happening just now, but if he wanted to create this illusion, he shouldnt let the MC talk the way he did in your screenshot for example, and thats not the only time he does that. But we always should keep in mind... DPC is not really a great author. Not even close.
I just feel that if everything has already happened, it cheapens the experience so I'm kinda sorry I noticed it. After all, there's no time like the present :)

I think that you should seduce and then dump all DIKs since as far as I remember they told her to do it.
Of course I might be wrong since I played that part long ago.
It was Tommy who sets us up by calling Quinn. Another good reason to get revenge on her is that she users the taser on us.
Still, it's interesting to think about who's heart I would like to break. Probably Zoey, even though I like her.

Josy is always in love with Tremolo, despite what happened in Ep.4. That moment when Josy asks after the photoshoot, "Do you sometimes wonder how things could have turned out differently?" and if you answer that "We did not have a single chance," she will be hurt. It's a very powerful moment and it looks like I'm seeing a hint of a possible hint with Josy in the future if it doesn't work the first time and you're on the Others route.
Sage is beyond competition. Perfect gf/wife material.
That's the reason why I have so much respect for Bella. Although she scares me because of mental problems, but her behavior is very adult. Bella and Sage have the most adequate reaction to the breakup in Ep.8. Although we see that Bella is in pain and it is a heartbreaking picture when she sits alone after a phone call, but she reacted with dignity.
Sage was such a surprise for me in the game, in the start she seemed like the typcial popular girl/GF, but DPC made her much more intreasting and gave her depth. She and the MC vibe, same as with most of the girls. I wonder how Zoey will play with the cast, since I doubt that the MC doesn't feel anything+DPC gave her a mini episode of her own (Interlude), so she will definetly play a big part in the game.

Again this game have so many subplots/choises/paths its amazing. This is what I like the most about this game.

Bella is not just a milf, she is a very intreasting character and is suprisingly stoic, but under her stoicness hides mountein of emotion. She is smart, caring, and is a very attrective women.

Besides Jill who I loved in the start but after she dropped our MC just because he chose to attend a sick Sage insted of going to a surprise date. Even in the route that romances Jill it still lefts a sour taste in my mouth, since even if MC doesn't feel love for sage he at least sees her as a good friend and he wants to help her.

The Choise between a surprise picnic and attending sage, WAS THE SHITTIEST CHOISE IN THE GAME. Don't know if its on purpse or not, but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

I need some help in understanding please stop reading if you don't want spoilers :

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

There is probably a ton more but still it seems strange unless they are a Harem :).
This game will never have a harem, polygamy maybe. But fucking all the women doesn't mean you have a harem. Legally a harem is when you are married to 5 women or more if you have 2-4 it's polygamy

Is everything we see now in the past, retold by the MC? That's what I understand from the phrasing in the library scene from ep 3. He says he never would have kissed Bella had he known the real reason for her tears. Sounds like he knows it now, right?
Yeah, the "voice over" MC tells the story and knows everything already, however the MC in ep 9 does not know yet....
We know everything told by voice over MC will have an impact on the story, personally i think the start of the game (family...) pretty much is the story of MC and friends.... And once all is finished we will without any doubt get another voice over MC conclusion.... (although that will still be far away lol)

No worries; DPC is now buying most of the music here:
Video Game license are 199$ per music. They are considered Premium because of the price and high quality.

DPC been buying 133 tracks at 199$; so 26,467$ is the total amount DPC been spending on music.
But it could be actually more expensive as the license state "Up to 1,000 copies or downloads". We can't know real price as these are now deal behind doors "Contact Us", so I'm just assuming that 199$ for an idea/estimate. :coffee:
That's CRAZY MONEY.
what are smaller developers doing? is everyone spending 4-5 figures in order to have songs in their games?

I agree with some points but disagree with others, in the start Sage is depressed and is suspecting that CHAD(lol I laugh hard from this name but I digrass). So she acts like a slut to sort of revenge his cheating, and he not cheated then punishment for not giving her the D, some women in real life do it so DPC hit the nail here.

I disagree with your idea on DPC he wrote her character nicely, and her progression was smooth, what I agree on is that She and MC became a couple too quick.
