It was about a year ago you put forward the idea that DPC intentionally wrote Maya's character to be hated by the player. I thought it was an interesting theory and looked forward to discussing it, but then HB had an aneurysm or something and the cucks went crazy and the opportunity passed. I was musing on the theory, thinking of how a Bad Maya would manifest in the story when I hit upon the idea that she was lying about the loan.

It doesn't matter if she does or not, it's still Felice's fault.

in any case I sustained, and I sustain even now, that DPC has pushed to make Maya a controversial character (not an evil one...) putting in her mouth a whole series of sentences that don't have a particular narrative utility but that contribute to put her in bad light in different situations

on all of them, for example, the question of 100% honesty, arriving at the last chapter where she feels guilty for having taken advantage of the kindness of MC who has left the girls the room when their relationship has already been recomposed (in fact preventing the threesome that many were expecting)

after all a controversial character is much better than a one-dimensional one, it creates more discussion and therefore more interest

in many AVN the LIs are all perfect, soul mates, we have to choose only on the basis of aesthetic tastes, here as in other "evolved" AVN we have to weigh also the flaws we are willing to put up with.

What you want to do is something annoying because certain routes close others, what you would have to do is alternate the character's affinity and close one route to open another and then reopen it

So if I understand correctly I have to use the console every time it is necessary to change the affinity multiple times (which I have done several times in past playthroughs when dialogs appear otherwise the prompts would disappear and I could not go further with the game) and disable and re-enable the variables (with true or false values, for example, I'm making something up → console command: "ep2Josysexinbathroom = true or false" ) which I would find in TOTALITY in the Development menu (or do you know if I can already get a list with the explanation of how to change them properly?), right?

Another doubt: How can I avoid an inconsistent game caused by the constant changing of the variables that are connected one another (and HOW can i recognize them uniquely?) and can mess the general savegame? Thank you very much for the explanation that will follow this answer to the quote

I knew I could count on the help of wonderful members of this forum, and indeed I was not disappointed... It's MY way to say that I appreciate so much the advices and that someone has dedicated his time to "clear" the last doubts.

Okay, I'll keep in mind the key events you suggested but I have fears that my initial idea might be even too ambitious just because the "danger" to fuck all up would be around the corner... I'm talking from experience here!

It has already happened to me in the past that a single command has ruined my experience because it was used in a not too smart way... Although I'm pretty good at these things (i.e. I know the basics of modding, console commands and variable changes) you can't predict these things much if you don't have a clear overview of what events are really connected (code level I mean), so what should I do in your book (all users of F95zone, please listen) to "simplify at best"?

Largely ignorance, I think. Fostered by poor educational standards and mass media. In my too-many-years on this ball of dirt I've been with a few. Some bled, some did not. I didn't think to do a poll and ask how many of them rode horses before, but at least one of them did play football, so the rough & tumble life was nothing new. (yay for tomboys!)

The reaction to Tybalt's marriage proposal is understandable, and it's a ridiculous conclusion to a ridiculous segment. Tybalt is so unthreatening that it's okay to completely humiliate him anyway the 3 dates are gone, so what could he possibly do?

Lot of laughing for your comment, you didn't help here but I appreciate the goliardic nature of the post and I admit that it brought a smile to my face. But what I would like to do is totally the opposite... so do NOT fuck with the game but master it as much as possible (and if then explanations are attached in depth would not be bad at all in such a way then to build up a base of knowledge to apply to most games Ren'Py from now on)

My searches within the forum were yes fruitful but I could not totally answer my questions, that's why I care so much. I'll try to draw conclusions after these back and forth but I'm not sure I have the faculties to fully succeed.

So if possible I would appreciate if there were more technically inherent comments, I will keep you updated on the nature of my findings, thanks again.

Since arguments go clean through the heads of Maya-haters, and them instead prefer to repeat the same sentences again and again, and since I am as tired of this argument like any other guy here, except Maya haters it seems, I will just make a statement.

Maya is not stupid, ahs is not manipulative, neither a liar, and she is not a damsel in distress. To read any of thoose things is to not understand a simple text.

And Maya fans dont want to see her failing. On the contrary we want her to succed. And that's a personal provocation, btw, to many people in this forum, in a moment where even meanwhile we are under attack, we still avoided personal attacks over Maya haters. This is another example as who broke every truce we have made in this thread.

The main argument for this is a poll, with questionable legitimacy, and the incorrect premise that people voted the best character instead of the best porn fetish.

People often overlook the times she stood up to him.

She was fairly aggressive on Rooster more than once, telling him not to report MC‘s posts and saying he needs to leave her friends alone.

She also calls him out after their first date for posting the hearts picture. Comments during the date at her house about how Tybalt would just get someone else to lie for him makes me, personally, think it isn’t that Jill likes or tolerates him it’s that she tries to fight other peoples battles constantly and finds herself doing stupid shit. The absurdity of the blackmail just makes anyone not immediately laughing in his face almost inherently a push over. By taking him seriously she comes across as a naive or even tolerant of his cartoonishly over the top personality.

Had the blackmail been better executed by DPC I can see Jill’s personality being a bit more consistent. I saw her as someone who fights other peoples battles (taking the MC home after the fight, reporting Chad, intervening with Tybalt… even her first interaction with the MC) and gets involved in other peoples problems even when she’s zero help, or even a hinderance.

She doesn’t like or tolerate Tybalt. She throws herself between MC and Tybalt and makes a tit of herself trying to smooth things over when she doesn’t really even understand what’s going on… so she says yes to basically everything Tybalt says thinking it will help.

The use of MODs creates big problems in saving with new chapters, where you have to at least wait for the MOD update to be able to play the new content.

Furthermore, even without crashing the game (which you're likely to encounter if you overdo it) you risk distorting the story (which is not always very smooth) and living a compromised experience.
