I think the purpose of this episode is to get to know more about the new character who will join the events, which is Zoey
Of course, all we know about her is that she was MC's close friend and then decided to travel without knowing the reasons

This episode made us get to know her personality and her family, and most importantly, it made us as players understand the story of travel and understand her personality because it became an essential element in the story.

The topic is like introducing a new character, as if you are watching a series, you usually find a prelude to this character, and then you find a flashback to the life of this strange character that suddenly appeared so that you know her past well.

Of course, this is a very important episode, no less important than the previous and upcoming episodes, and the developer is very good at narrating events and manipulating feelings.

I like this developer that he plays with feelings a lot. He makes you take a decision and choose a character and says OK, I will be with this character, and then he surprises you with another character that makes you relate to her and makes you think from the first

The main issue with the Interlude, is the fact that it was unnecessary. Even though I certainly did not mind it and thought it was relatively fun, the time would have been much better invested in the main story, completely cutting Zoey out of the game. This would not have had any negative impact, and saved plenty of development efforts. Not excluding elements that only play a small role in the game, is one of DrPinkCake's problems as a developer. There are a lot of examples of this; DnG, mini-games, massive free roam events and now the Interlude. These factors only act as a bonus, but are virtually meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Considering that the game will not be finished until 2026 given the current development cycle, it would be advisable to reduce the scope a bit.

When it comes to how forced the MC's internal conflict will be upon Zoey's return, I can say this: DrPinkCake has made it explicitly clear that the MC is not a blank slate - he is his own person, not matter how much the player wants to self-insert. Clearly, Zoey leaving did affect him a lot; he was in love with her and was forced to move on, and it is therefore unrealistic to expect her return to not have an impact on him. This being said, the game starts out with the MC having a crush on Josy, and we have spent eight episodes forming new bonds and banging anything that moves, leading us to believe he has managed to move on. I therefore parrot other people's worries about how this will force conflict upon us, that will negatively affect other relationships, and I welcome all choices that allow us to immediately shut down the prospect of getting back with Zoey. Even if there is forced conflict, one would have to assume that it will be better than the atrocity of the Maya/Josy drama, which is probably the worst part of Being a DIK.

Honestly I dont think there will be a forced thing with her. In the Interlude, Depending on your choices I guess, It clearly shows Zoey a portrayal of what could happen with trying to rekindle something you broke off/shutdown. I dont think she is going to demand a relationship with MC. I think she truly understands now that being with him was more than "Just friends fucking" But also sees how toxic/bad it could get thanks to Bret and Emma.

I think we are going to be given options to pursue Zoey if thats your cup of tea or just tell her straight up you moved on and stay friends. Up until this point there is an option for the MC to just be single not interested in anyone which leaves a nice space for Zoey to slide into.

What I do like is the potential for what Zoey showing up and their history being brought up affects the current LIs. How do they react to the MCs first love, the girl that helped break him outta his shell, helped shape him into who he is, the girl that broke his heart.

Is it though? Yes it does explain why she acted like that and it is mostly because of her Grandma but I still think she is very selfish and not likeable at all. Especially when you try to put her against any women you now spend 8 Episodes against. Why would you actually chose Zoey here as a player?

She does not even bring some heavy themes with her that could be used for the overall mainplot or regarding the drug storyline etc. She will just be another character IMO.

When we get to the mainplot I will not even pay much attention to her. She feels like a filler. Like in a JDRAMA everytime an ex comes back who left you for various reasons and then the MC rejects her and you move on.


The interlude is certainly the weakest part of the series so far. Especially coming after a HUGE concert scene and overall "Bella" part (for me)

Also why even create another comflict. For example: With Bella you now have Jill as a huge conflict situation so it does not even need Zoey here. I do not know about the other parts though since Everytime I play this game I only fall for Bella......

Tl;dr: surprise surprise, the interlude turned out to be rather boring/anticlimatic. See you guys around Halloween.

- The lewd scene was quite alright minus some questionable skin shots, wtf's up with that?
- The fact Zoey's model is just Jade's morphed one was expectedly jarring but obviously there's nothing coulld've been done about that
- The conflict twist was poorly developed
- The tear-jerker stuff was as usual but that's rather just me I guess
- The new mini-game was nice
- What a totally solid competition for the MC Zoey is now, amirite?

Solution to the import save problem on MAC.

When you start the interlude and press continue (I think) a persistent file will be created for the season3.
This is located in "Users/<your_profile>/Library/RenPy/<BeingADik_folder>".
Go there and paste the saves from the end of episode 8. Remember to only paste the saves and not the persistent file.
Start the game again and you can continue.

I guess for Windows its similar. Go here: "%APPDATA%/RenPy/".

Dunno about stalking, he can see her rooster account and maybe see pictures placed by her friends too if she's been tagged. (well if it's anything like that thing we use for real) With lack of communication it's easier to assume she had a new boyfriend, but my guess is the interlude story between Bret and Ems is pretty much the same as what happened between MC and Zoey.
No real guilty party or both just as guilty as the other, life happens... Still doesn't change my opinion about it though, she went away, MC didn't go with her, that's enough of reason to say that's the real ending point of that relation, maybe not as friends but as lovers definitely the end.

When Ems posts Zoey's photo, she tags her, so if the MC follows Zoey, he sees Ems' photo and message.

In addition at that time, contacts between Zoey and the MC are very limited, so he sees it happening on Rooster, and only remembers the fact that Zoey has a boyfriend.


But it will have no impact on the future relationship between the MC and her. If we go the Zoey route, I don't see how that would be a problem or could create drama. It's not like the MC hasn't touched or looked at a girl since Zoey left...

The question is why do you even need this? Is it just another girl for the reason that someone could not have found one after 8 episodes of playing this game? She feels forced and unneeded at all. She is onyl there to cause some conflicts which at this point is not even needed. She does not bring anything new to the table. She is not connected to any overall Mainplot.

The three girls are already in the game and all of them are taking part in the dorm party. The left one is the one getting doubled in one of the rooms and the other ones are spread over the rooms. One of them was dancing topless i think and the other one in the same room as Jacob. So they aren't really new but they involvement in the story could get a bit more important. Just like Beckys and i think Claire was her name, involvement through the dorm party. So i don't see a problem of them "increasing the cast". As you said they could be involved in drug deals, maybe wanna create their own sorority. The teaser also gave me the vibes of "dark times rising" same as the one at the end of Ep8. I think Ep9 could also bring out the bad sides of the girls to the surface.

ah that explained why at least two of them were familiar, couldnt put a finger on it... played the dorm party again, and yep, there they are.

But nevermind, still i think we dont need more girls, no we even dont need anymore new characters whatssoever. There is so much going on, and is so much open... to me, every new character is just a distraction, and yep... that goes for Zoey too. We know shit about Burke and his "Harem" or the drug dealer connected to Quinn and so on... to open up another "front" ist just not good... and we already get another front with Zoey, now three "vixens" too? Ah way to many... but it is what it is... DPC is getting easy bored to write for the same characters again and again... so he kinda need these distractions i think. The intelrude was more a break from being a dik for him than for us i think too.

Okay... I thought I might have not needed anymore help but me don't know what I am doing lol. I downloaded the Season 1 - 2 download that is available and don't know what to do next. I mean, I downloaded your save file but where do I put it? I wish Season 2 had a separate download since the save in that Season is the only one that matters, me thinks anyways. I'm sorry if I am not understanding this one bit My head hurts trying to figure this out and I just want to play the Interlude already...

Season 1,2 and Season 3 are two separate games to import the saves from season 1,2 to season 3 you need to use the import tool that appears at the end of episode 8 and with that the saves should appear when you try to import them to season 3 remember it is a separate game one new folder

To use the save that I gave you, you just have to create a folder with the name "saves" and put it inside the game of the third season season3/game/saves

Can anyone help me with the saves please. I can't play otherwise. I have the save files from episode 8. But I cannot import them.

How do you import? I have nothing on the screens and I have played every episode and have all the previous saves.

I managed to import my saves but now I get an error when I try to continue from a save. Anyone else with this problem?

No one responded to your question, because you didn't give any details of what you did, or what exactly went wrong. People can't help even if they want to. Outline the steps you took, what went wrong, attach any error.txt or traceback.txt messages if there was a crash. Describe what sort of device and operating system you're using. What version of BaDIK were the saves created in. Were the saves made with or without mods installed. You know, basic error reporting stuff?

Don't need to paste them anywhere, the game will automatically look for the transfer saves in the right place, which on Windows would be: C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\persistent\BeingADIKSeason2Transfer1366998845

The save transfer doesn't use the standard saves, copying them into the new instance will likely mess things up.

That's not true, you just need to have access to the save transfer file mentioned above.

The process to import saves is intuitive and straightforward. It's baffling so many people struggle with it.

• Extract Interlude to a new folder
• Run the BeingADIK.exe
• Once you get to the main menu click IMPORT
• Select the save you want to transfer.
• If there aren't any saves to transfer, then you need to go back to 0.8.2 and make some by playing through to the end.
• Learn all about Zoey

Can i download season 1-2 compressed version just for the sake of generating the saves? or transfering to season 3 with a compressed save will break things?

I haven't tried it, but yes that should work fine. Compressors generally don't mess with the code, they just shrink the images, videos, audio.

The file name is "BeingADIK-0.0.1-pc-Compressed ". Is that a renaming error or old file?

Neither, the version number for the Interlude is 0.0.1 (because it's the first mini-episode of the new BaDIK instance for Season 3).
