To be honest, the last few weeks have really been like dragging out development time. Either the rights to the music are taken away, then a scammer appears and the DPC's mood is spoiled for a week, to develop something there. Next week will begin a period of rehabilitation from mental anguish. At this rate, episode 9 will not be released this year. I had suspicions that he was just playing for time, but this already goes beyond all reasonable limits.
Except it’s entirely reasonable. It just sucks, but it’s reasonable.

No offense, but for your own mental health you should probably avoid VNs.
None taken. It's not the VN's or dev's fault, but mine. Reading and gaming is my escape from reality when I need it. I just wasn't prepared for that sort of thing as I had a preconceived idea of what to expect from AVNs. Prior to AL, I hadn't played one with an actual plot, so I wasn't ready for it. It was actualy the one that made me love and actively look for more VNs that went beyond porn with some decent enough writing. I just check reviews a little more closely now before opening one up to see if I can handle it at that time. I file it away until I'm feeling up to it.

But yeah, to get back on topic, I appreciate the care that a handful of AVN devs have for the project they work on. They want something more than masturbation material from their work. DPC and MD are a rarity in this sea of adult writing and that's what makes me love their work.

There is very little in this story that is reasonable....

let's assume that the person who paid to get the game from the impostor has big problems and the Internet is very dangerous for him

but DPC has the same dramatic swings as his characters:oops:

what sense does it make to denounce the scoundrel not publicly but only to the patreons? did he think that they were the ones who after paying the game to him went and paid it a second time to the impostor?o_O

but also the 4 days of radio silence and sleeplessness is a reaction that if the MC of BADIK had it we would criticize him....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

all it took was for DPC to expose the problem that it magically went away. already there had been some anyway, a couple reported on here as well, and there will be in the future. that's the beauty and the ugly of the internet.

If it's legit, and not some troll post
Well that's one way to weed out the DPC / Riona connoisseurs I guess, when they can't immediately see that's not a DPC Riona render...

Apart from it not being a great rendition, who'd believe DPC would let hair clipping like that slide in a preview or special render?

Plus Riona wouldn't be seen dead without her makeup & piercings!

this is DPC's new retaliation, for every dollar he is extorted a character dies

for chapter 10 will be a game about American school architecture

After reading for a while now, i used my mathematical abilities and found a formula to predict the development time of BaD episodes:

development.png

Maybe you need some explanation for this formula:
  • For every new episode, DPC increases the amount of characters, voiced lines and the complexy of the game to enjoy us. So the complexy factor rises on average 0.1 every 2 episodes.
  • If the average posters increase their IQs, they demand better quality and so the time will increase cause of the time DPC needs to satisfy us (OK, mostly his Patreons)
  • But there will also be some dumb posters, the time dealing with them also causes some fallout and expands development time.
Assuming, most posters here are average with an IQ of 100-110 (let's say average 110), we have to use the complexy factor of 1.6. So it's decided by the dumbest posters here and sorry, there were too much within the last time to grant an earlier release. Calculating with the lowest using IQ 75 (yes, there were some really stupid ones in the last time), we get a development time of 234 days (about 33 weeks) for Ep9, this will match the data DPC gave us (and as mpa71 visualized in his BigTable).

But how to get an earlier release? It's hard for the average crowd here to decrease their IQ (and i bet they don't want like i don't), so there is only one way to do:
To all dumb and silly persons, who want to post here, please stay away from this thread or increase your IQ (you will realize how to behave when you are more intelligent), so that we all get earlier releases of new BaD episodes. Thank you.

I still see a lot of drama in the comments about yesterday. Many are angry and frustrated at DrPinkCake "how dare he stop development".
Okay, I'm turning on Elena mode and try to be the voice of logic and mind. Of course, reason number one:
Imagine that someone steals all your labor, passes it off as their own, and sells it. Shazba already speaks about this. But that's not all. The scammer can do anything with the game code! Install any malware. For example Adware for the browser, which is difficult to remove (I myself struggled with this rubbish). Or even worse, malware that steals your passwords and... bank card details. And some unknowing gamer, having bought the game from that site, then writes that DrPinkCake hacks bank accounts. Imagine the reputation loss for him, it is understandable why he was in such a nervous broke and couldn't work. What happened is a criminal case. He has every right to apply to the police and the court to bring the scammer to justice. So here he has to make a choice - to pursue the criminal or focus on developing the game. I think he will choose the second, the fans gave him a good boost yesterday with their support.
As I understand it, he wants to get a response from itch.io in order to move on (hello Sage). This should not interfere with the further development of the game.
In general, I am amazed at the mess of itch.io - how can you allow a pirated product to be sold on your platform? These guys don't care about reputation or legal ramifications?
I have an assumption that this became known a few days ago. DPC didn't want to make the case public, tried to contact itch.io alone, but it did not help and knocked him out of his peace of mind. Although, if he told the fans right away, then in half an hour the problem would have been solved, like yesterday. He has a whole army. As I understand it, itch.io realized that it smelled of burning, understood how they crap and quickly reacted.
I think it would be wise for DPC to hire a lawyer for such cases - he has become very popular and there is no guarantee that this will not happen again. It is impossible to carry absolutely everything on your shoulders.
And as a result, the disaster was completely avoided. The scammer page is completely destroyed at the moment and the request gives a 404 error.

I hope that the DPC mental state has improved, but we will know for sure next week. According to new posts on patreon and a report next Friday. We will wait.
Have a nice weekend everyone and good news next week.:)
