There's more to it than that. They are half siblings. Jade used to be married to some red head guy (the one Sage refers to as her dad), then she remarried Burke and gave birth to Tybbie. Not sure the age difference between Sage and Tybalt actually, I get the impression they are about same age, so that screws up that theory.
Jade towards Tybalt seems a pretty affectionate mother (and we're talking about Tybalt ..), and even with MC when they talk about the problem of trust she is very open, it doesn't quite match Sage's description of her family.

If it does that, then it is kind of sad but I can also see why.

On the first point, it would be sad to see it end so soon because it could certainly go on longer, or at least could have if perhaps things has been paced out a bit differently. It does seem like things are coming to a head very quickly right now with relationship being narrowed down and such, and you have to wonder if this always was DPC's plan, or if they're purposely rushing it.

This is where we get to the second point, because when looking ahead the average pace of each episode's development, DPC is staring down the barrel of about 3-5 more years if they were to do 12, 16, or 20 episodes, and that is a lot of time for one game, especially given how hard they work on it. So perhaps DPC realises this and doesn't want to spend that long on it, so they've condensed their plans in order to finish in just 10 episodes. Somewhat telling was how they said they hadn't decided yet on the "scope" of Ep 7 which says to me that they are trying to figure out how to squeeze into the episode which might suggest they are trying to condense this into just 10 episodes.

I honestly hope it's not the case that they're doing this as at least 12 episode for 3 equally amounts of episodes per season would be more than enough and it would be a shame to rush to the finish line just because they don't want to spend so long on it.
Thinking about that, it surely is a long term commitment, to work on a single VN for 3 to 5 years to come. But the final product would be a lot of fun for a long time, with premium quality. I can only imagine how many stories could still be put into this one, and stuff...

DPC's plans surely seems to be condensing, judging by what we can see at this episode. This episode made me create a new save and clearly split my saves between going DIK affinity and CHICK affinity in order to enjoy all the content.

All in all, I hope that, as soon as this VN ends, DPC can come up with a new one not long after it. After all, his work is, to say the last, stellar. He's really got a big fanbase by now, and we will always want more :)

True but it could be that Sage lived/lives with her father rather than her mother

I think of this game as a 90s TV novel for young people. Type Beverly hills, SClub 7 etc with touches of movies like American Pie so by proxy he can expand it for many episodes, whatever he wants, but there will come a time when the themes are repetitive or wear down and there is no more to be exploited.

i am a beginner in this world.

how long does it usually take a VN to complete? 3-4 years does not seem such a long time to me

Depends on what they do with this game and what a future one would be. If they do anything like or even close to AL's dark drama ending, then it's not likely to go down well. People would still support them and they probably wouldn't lose that many patrons, but their reputation might take a knock if they have more sad, depressing endings in this game.

As for their next game, if it's another one with a real-world setting then it will probably do OK, but I have a feeling that the long DnG game in this episode was practice for the setting of their next game. That might go down well with some people if it's a DnD, GoT, Witcher type game, but it wouldn't be my cup of tea so I'd probably skip it and I'm sure there would be others who feel the same, especially since it opens itself more to dark, tragic themes than even AL or BaDIK.

That is 100% Maya's mom, yall just wait for it to be revealed. There's no way in hell she shows up at the same time Maya's dad shows up at the dorm room and we all know she lied about her age on swyper.
Obviously she has lied with her age, but from there to being Maya's mother it is more difficult to link

This theory holds up if Tybalt is Stephen's son from first marriage and not Jade's.

Now that you mention they kinda look alike, altho could just be coincidental. Didn't Nora say she was 32 years old? Doesn't fit that theory.

Anyone knows the name of the two songs that play while on MacAllen's bar? I particularly like the one where the female singer says along the lines "yea you let me down - please don't let me down". I tried finding them on the music list, but it's not listed there.

Been playing a Massive DIK runthrough and just noticed the third picture in the Jade/Stephen fight.

View attachment 910631

I'm sure this was talked about somewhere in the close to 5K pages but I'm to lazy to look.
Any theories on whom is in the third picture?

Also this line has always bugged me.

Why would he say this to Jade?
"You've been in long-term relationships before." makes it sounds like this is both of theirs second marriage.
If that is the case then I would like to think that Tybalt is Stephens son and not Jade's. (apple don't fall far from the tree)
Plus it lets me sleep better account I really like Jade.
I've been saying that since the release of that episode but most people here don't think so.

And how many families have you seen where the Mother is adoring and over protective to the son but, cold and demanding of the daughter?
