I don't think he's milking it on purpose, he just doesn't have any time management skills or a clear development structure. We don't really know how he works exactly, but there are some things that stress me out.
For example, once he got back from vacation he only had a week to figure out his branching. I mean, his flowchart is such a mess that it took him a week to give it some structure. Or he didn't do anything for a week and just wrote a post that he did something. We won't know for sure until episode 10 comes out.

These are emotions. People love this game, they are inspired by it and it is natural that many people don't like the long development time and are afraid that the project will be abandoned. Because a lot can really happen in the next 6-7 years, we live in an unstable era. We love this game very much.

I would consider that you might have a point, if we didn't have Historical evidence of what he was way before he was " less popular ".
we had the entire season one , 4 full episode to see, what is he like when he was sharp, motivated, and passionate.
He didn't need above 5000 render to tell the story, 1000 if not more render alone for just free-roaming. His entire first game was just 5000 render. And he did that while he had full time job, it was almost passion project at that point.

not to mention there are very few dev who has the equipment he had , and has. I think not many can can say they had 8, 3090 graphic card. .

He will complete it and likely move onto another project shortly after completion or simply retire. But it seems he loves to be kept busy so retirement may not, overly, be an option for him. Who knows.

There are actually many reasons for this and one of the main reasons is branching. Now he is forced to give roughly equal content with indecent scenes and renders for each girl. But the main mistake is of course the branching of the Others. I have nothing against that branch, but the fact that he has bloated that branch is definitely the kind of thing that leads to lengthening the development time. The code was much simpler in the first 2 seasons than it is now, with freeroams taking up half the episode and the remaining half being incomprehensible.

Well, there's no variables for any of the SGs. You're basically marked as alone. So, even though I want Rio, I really don't think there will be any endings for her or any of the SGs. I do hope I'm wrong though.

Even if I don't get an ending for Rio, I've enjoyed the game. Some of it I didn't. But for the most part I have.
