Stopped checking for your stat only a few months ago, coz there always an old one for ch11 was popping up.

At week 39 of the last dev cycle DPC had an estimated 262 animations completed. From that perspective he is more than 25% behind.

Presuming he is aiming for a similar number of animations to last episode (392), at current rates, we can expect animation completion around week 82. (393 completed). That would be 25th September, plus beta testing a release in October seems very possible, so nearly another year.

Now for the usual caveats. Pink thinks things will speed up. He has upgraded his systems, so render time could have already improved. The episode could be smaller. Last episode had 7113 stills, he's getting on for two thirds of the way there.

DPC would have to take that into consideration when writing the smaller updates, different from most other games his updates don't just randomly end.

Also, thats a pipe dream, DPC does what he wants and I don't see he ever splitting EPs.

Based off that update I'm still betting about 9 months left.

That said, I'm curious if the Steam news is literally just "yo S3 comes out on Steam" or if it's more actual news like a new game or some shit lol

9 months left sounds about right, I'm expeting the news will be kinda like last year's info drop.

So I expect around 10ish previews, the trailer a title drop and DPC saying that season 3 is coming "soon".

Which is BS of course, Steam/GOG are only getting new content in very late 2026.

But the man gotta create more hype.

I don't care as long as we get a lot of previews like we did last year.

The Steam/GOG news is all that excites me, it means a dozen new previews if last year is anything to go off of.

We should get quite a bit of info, hopefully we get some good previews.

If you follow last years trends I expect the announcement will be in 12/12/26

It's been a good week. I've worked on the big free roam event, taking it scene by scene and creating the art chronologically to get a feel for the content as I go. There are some natural checkpoints along the road that make this possible.

57 scenes remain to be created - ranging from short to very long. Of those 57 scenes, 10 scenes have no writing or partial writing; the rest need art.

I'm 30-35% done with the free roam event in terms of render calls. I've coded the basic structure for the free roam event. When I create the art for the scenes, I also code them so they trigger when I play.

436 static renders and 41 animations are in the render queue. I only have one PC dedicated to rendering static renders; the rest are working on animations.

The 92-second cutscene animation is rendering across multiple systems and is 19% complete. This speed should pick up next week when I allocate more render slaves to this task.

203 animations have been completely rendered, which is a nice milestone. I'll soon reach the 4000 static renders milestone too, hopefully next week.

Alongside this, I'm preparing some December news for Steam and GOG, which should be of interest to you too.

If he's going to spend two years on each episode, then Cyberpunk 2 will be released before the final episode of BAD. I hope that in the future, when he makes games again, he will realize that quantity does not equal quality, and that 30% of his content is pretty average. Well, he could have easily made a free-roam of average length, but he decided to make an episode-free-roam again.
I imagine that episode 12 will end with another stupid plot twist that he likes, such as James' visit or the death of one of the LI (why not?), and we will only see the continuation in two years.
Once again, I want to emphasize that those who sit in this forum and wait for the game are the best people on planet Earth.

Route 2 (but is actually 1 now): Release half episodes so we're not left with jack shit for 1-2 years. More work? Maybe only slightly, but at least people actually get something in the meantime.

Route 3 (but is actually 2 now): Don't make everything so fuckin bloated. Make something simpler that doesn't require 10 to 20 render stations or whatever he has for computers.

Of course all of this is hinging on if he does anything afterwards.

By smaller you mean epilogies? I meant split planned from the start, not now, in a hurry. 5k 9EP not small, and didnt end randomly. Btw there is another reason to do it - we would get x2 nye updates in accordance to irl time.

203 anims since february 7th (when EP11 anims finished rendering) means we got 0.7 anims completed per day until today (day 291). Assuming/Knowing the anims are going to be the bottleneck again and a goal target of at least 420 it's gonna take until October 6th '26 to finish rendering meaning the earliest possible release date is now November 6th due to playtesting unless he decides to do shorter animations again like he did for the last two months of EP11 development (1.4 anims per day).

Hats off to the old school numbers/stats people chiming in. Well done. And, appreciated.

Don't forget the possibility of DPC posting 3 progress updates on a new minigame he is introducing for EP12.

Hopefully 2026 will not be a repeat of 2024: zero episode releases.

Suddenly got interested in this question: Through both dialogue or visuals, how many times has MC shed tears in all game contents? The only two times I can think of are explaining to Bella in the library (using word 'sobs' in dialogue) and this reunion.
In this kind of games, I really enjoy seeing characters (especially MC) show their vulnerable side. So, are there any other moments where MC sheds tears that I might have missed?
