Just like you said, sometimes it just comes out of the blue and it doesn't fit the narrative.
The biggest issue with NTR is that it's just done scuffed, it's only ever an issue with amateur indie devs that try to shoehorn their fantasies into a game and it comes out weird. There's plenty weeb games where it's not an issue and it's the selling point. It works there because the author understands and works with the subject properly. They don't just add NTR for shock/their own kink.

IMHO netorare becomes interesting when female are dominant, I've played about all the Ren'Py games about that argument and I think the devs have just scratched the surface, prolly because they want more $$$ from Patreon subscribers, still cuckolding opens about tons of other options, and in 2023 people should stop being so shy about bisexuality... IMHO

I fixed my rollback issue by starting over with a new save. Hopefully your problem will be easily solved as well.
