There are many posts many pages ago that gives you a walkthrough.
Even the search of "walkthrough" will give you tons of answers bud'.
So just to check, is this like the first game where if you don't use a guide or walkthrough then characters die and you get locked out of content?

It's meant to be that way until you start learning how to save 'em.
NG+ is even immersive as it's also part of the story.
Apparently a few bgms were not allowed to be used so Toro has to replace them.

You can't. If you want to get physical with her then after defeating Florence, go back down the stairs. She's a tough fight though.
