I know that, sacrificing quality or even gameplay to release a x86 build is just stupid. You are right in one sense, x64 OS is only really needed for modern games, or tasks that require more memory. x86 software isn't going to be phased out any time soon though, because it's backwards compatible with x64, (unless we're talking about 16 bit.)
The only reason I HIGHLY doubt that this game will get a 32 bit version, is because it's a memory hog. Keep in mind, his goals are seamless gameplay, open world, no loading screens, et cetera. Just won't happen in an x86 environment, so sorry to disappoint folks. But if you want to play high end games, you need the hardware to run it.
That being said, this game IS beefy. I'm with 8gb ram, 2gb vram, 2.40GHz quadcore cpu and my rig has issues on medium graphics.
Well, I DO have a x64 system with 4gb ram, but since my video card only supports dx10 I can't even open the game. (My integrated graphics card supports dx11 but can't open the game due to having 256mb of vram, and my external has 1gb vram but doesn't support dx11. Funny huh?)
