As I said in the DAS thread. She's all you need, at least she's all I need.
Very kind words, UncleFredo ...This is the kind of feedback that keeps us going. As I said in the DAS thread. She's all you need, at least she's all I need.
Love this story. Love the writing. Appreciate at the highest possible level the integrity of Stone Fox (you guys are great). Awesome renders.
So Stone Fox, you've had a whiner come through challenging your release cycle. You've had a number of folks bitching about only 2 LIs. Drooling on Tara.
Since I'm all in on Jaye, I realize I don't represent the disgruntled. Kind of funny, If Jaye wasn't in the picture, I'd be all in on Mallory. Yeah Tara is hot, but you've explained by you've narrowed your LI play list. Crawl before you walk. Walk before you run. Run before you fly.
Good for you guys. So careful not to bite off more than you can chew, especially when you're finding your way at SO many levels.
You have absolutely NOTHING to defend in how you've evolved this VN. Fucking NOTHING!
You've mentioned that this is your first effort. I can't imagine, after using this triumph of a game as a learning experience, what your next effort will be like.
In the present, I'll impatiently wait for your remaining releases.
I don't think that's fair. CS is about to release 0.5 and we've consistently released an update ever 3-3.5 months since the Prologue launched. We deliberately chose a hard limit of 10 total updates so fans aren't being strung along for 10+ years to complete the story, and as such we are halfway there 1.5 years in.
As for the comparatively small number of love interests, keep in mind this was our first game. One of the things Kent and I agreed on out the gate is that DAZ games with a large cast of central love interests tend to become so complex that they end up abandoned as the pathing worklog for the developers becomes unscalable OR the girls usually become necessarily less well-developed and shallow. I'm not saying this is always the case, but baby-steps for a fledgling writer and artist seemed prudent, lest our effort end up on the ever-growing pile of abandoned titles.
Our art style tends to add one render per line of dialogue, and we shoot for a render quality baseline well above the norm. Every image is rendered originally at 4K to 98% convergence and downscaled. Even at 0.5, Chasing Sunsets is approaching the 7000 mark for these renders, and we barely feel like we have enough time to tell the story of the two girls who are central to the plot in the amount of time we have left. This means Kentyrr has averaged 12 unique renders every single day for the last year and a half, assuming zero days off.
As such, no...We do not regret not adding Tara as a central love interest, and we expect similar lobbies to emerge for Lisa and Amanda (aka Peanutbooter) in coming chapters. If this game is ultimately successful and we decide to do another, Tara, Lisa, and others are likely to have their day in the sun.
The appeal of Tara is completely lost on me, so I am clearly not a representative sample. But I'd say your reasoning is sound and IMHO the game has improved significantly as the focus has tightened on the two LIs. I think sticking to them will work out for the best.I don't think that's fair. CS is about to release 0.5 and we've consistently released an update ever 3-3.5 months since the Prologue launched. When it's ready to be releasedwhen is the new version?
With some luck maybe even this month since it's probably in beta testing now.when is the new version?
As usual, Rikki is forgotten. /sighI don't think that's fair. CS is about to release 0.5 and we've consistently released an update ever 3-3.5 months since the Prologue launched. It's official...This will be our last update until we release. As promised I can project a release date of 12/19 now. We may be ready sooner, but we're giving ourselves a little wiggle room in case something comes up in the release candidate that's bigger than a breadbox.
Chapter 4 Beta test has been under way while the final art has been rendering in parallel for about a week now, and so far beta feedback has been very positive.
Tonight, I completed sound and music integration, tested all achievements, scene and image gallery items, and text chats.
Here is what you can expect in Chapter 4:
We are posing and rendering the last images as quickly as we can and we'll get those bundled into a release candidate within an hour of the last renders coming out of the oven. We will not rush release candidate beta as doing so last time forced us to issue our first bugfix.
- Expanded intro primer that more concisely explains the role of choice and points
- 14 new musical tracks
- 1500 unique renders
- Better Discord integration which can be turned off in the preferences menu
- 32 new achievements
- Numerous UI improvements and tweaks
- Several lovely new ladies have entered the game
- Potentially major movement in the relationships with our central LIs
It's shaping up to be a spicy Christmas for fans of Jaye and Mallory. We can't wait to get our holiday gift out to all of you who have been waiting patiently (and not so patiently!)
Best Regards,
Stoya & Kentyrr
Stone Fox Studios
Just to wag us the knife in the wound !! But hey, I'll make up for it on Jaye, my idol, my goddess ...LOL just had to use Tara in the teaser huh?![]()
....that you may have created two of the hottest women ever in a VN with Jaye and Mallory. As for the comparatively small number of love interests, keep in mind....
Yeah also noticed, albeit lateAnd keep it in english ;P
I think I'll do another run and separate the paths cleanly.but I'd make a second save since the heartbreak might not be as bad since you're not giving her too much hope
