Dunno if this will upset Gallant Trombe, but yeah, I was so confused. First time I saw her without makeup I was sure even the shape of her face changed, her chin looked more pointy to me, and after looking at earlier renders I realized I was right.
She isn't ugly or unattractive with her new...tweaks? Model? But the old one was simply cheff's kiss to me.
I wonder what cause her evident physical change.

I wouldn't call it subverting expectations, at least that wasn't my intention. Yes, I'm aware this isn't typical in AVNs, but you're right that I've said many times CoMS isn't porn. However, it's not like I'm a trailblazer. Eroge have eventually evolved into more serious and bold storytelling after a few years of the genre progressing. And ultimately, this is the story I want to tell.

I really like this game so far but this update was a bit disappointing for a number of reasons. Hopefully it is just a blip and the game rebounds in future updates. I noticed some of the models look different...I actually think Blanche looks better, but Elise looks worse (her eyes and face look kinda plain now).

• MC acts like a brooding, angsty teen. I'm ok with him being depressed but he shouldn't act so glum in front of everyone...it doesn't seem like good motivational leadership to me.
• MC is turning more and more into a pussy. Seems like lots of people can kick his ass (including a woman in a much lower weight class) and personality-wise he's a pushover/gives up easily. Does the military really develop these types of leaders? He doesn't act like a galaxy-wide hero, that is for sure.
• What does he bring to the team other than a reputation and being an easily manipulated puppet? He can command an army unit but this team is tiny and is very different from an ordinary army unit. It seems like he's in over his head. He has little control over his team (they are running around independently fixing his fuckups/almost killing civilians), he is getting manipulated, used and pushed around all over the place and hasn't accomplished anything so far.
• What's up with all of the young people with grey hair (like 5 so far)? Generally speaking is it a sign of a repressed GILF fetish/kink? I don't understand it.
• No sex scene this update (broken promise from the developer note on the first page).

I've always been on "MC is a puppet everyone uses and has no redeeming qualities otherwise".
That said, story did interest me and that's literally only reason I stuck around.

I didn't trust a single girl, and the only one that was obviously hiding something, but I liked, was Dizzy. Well that relationship had an explosive finale.
No H-Scene, for me at least, is whatever, since like I said, I don't like or trust a single girl and don't want MC with them. Thank fuck at least sex is not forced so far.

Unfortunately MC is killing any enjoyment I have of this story. He's such a little bitch, and for a supposed to be leader, he's done NO LEADING WHATSOEVER so far. Every single idea he had has been overruled by one of the girls. He's been ordered to add people that literally sabotaged his mission at one point.
Everyone works behind his backs and he never even calls them on that, he never comments on that, he just listens, like a good obedient puppet that he is.

Just got done with the update and huh. Ngl, I did enjoy it, and it even surprised me a bit with Rose killing herself.
Not often that the devs would actually go through with killing off a LI; it's saddening, but in terms of plotline, pretty pluasible I should say.

Some questions Gallant Trombe;

1) The whole muscle enhancement thing happening with Elise when she spars with MC. Did she get an implant of sorts when she got training for the Palace Gaurds of House Rosenheim? And can all Rosenheim palace guards do this muscle increase change like she can (or do each individual have different "advantages"/"abilities" with musle enhancement just being one of them)?

2) Lana's incident at the cafe on her walk with MC; has she ever gone berserk before (like she did at the cafe) which may have caused her and others around her problems during her time in the Imperial Navy?

3) Rose's Rebel handler in this update (who loses the tail by Mirielle), how big of a role will she play in the storyline of a future updates? Perhaps somewhat major recurring character, or will she just be one of those characters who appears sometimes but not that often?

4) With Roses' bomb, did our MC get hit by a sort of EMP when it set off? Come to think of it, it also happened when Rose escaped from her room (though that was more of a flashbang).


Not that many scenes with my favorite girl Miri, but this scene was quite nice;

That text delay thing is annoying. I'm not holding down CTRL, but I can't tell if the game is moving forward when I hit space (especially during the black screens when codex is updated) I'll have to hit it a few more times after waiting, and then probably roll back to see what I blew past accidentally. It's more of a chore than a success at creating atmosphere and pacing (which is what I imagine the intent was).

It's not about Aria entering the safe house specifically, but the MC not even attempting to use any leverage he may have. If she's already going to be around, then get her under the command structure as a special agent, have her do debriefs, link her to her Lady so they both fly or fall together, put her to work and see if she follows instructions (for now) or immediately goes off. These are, just off the top of the head, reasonable ways of testing that faction and what their priorities are. There are steps between being completely passive and trying to kill your own team/assets.

And, as you said, personal safety isn't his highest priority, but all these little displays, subterfuges, and posturings distract from the mission, muddy the waters, and slow the investigation. The lack of any preparation or dealing with these long-term problems that are coming from inside the team, shows poor leadership and how ineffective the MC is as an officer. This isn't even platoon size (though the egos might make up the difference), and he doesn't have to deal with them all being green recruits, but the MC has done nothing to forge these folk into a unit, least of all one that actually respect him, the mission, or be able to work effectively to their goals without undercutting him, the unit, each other, and the mission.

It's a shame, because I can see the sparks of something interesting in the MC, like spotting the feint in the sparring battle, but then that seems to disappear elsewhere (especially anything nearing Lady S.). I don't think the story or MC are bad, just that the balance seems out of wack and it is doing the overall project harm. I wasn't expecting hyper-competent power-fantasy porn, just a protagonist that actually takes some action on their own. Just tone down the passive/reactive aspect by 5-15% and it'd improve things greatly.

Also, I'll probably keep harping on it, anyone who kills their own team (Grace, and probably the rebels with Dizzy/Rose) without first exhausting every other option is an untrustworthy piece of shit that should be kept away whenever possible, never considered as a potential ally, and if possible, cut out of any operational calculation completely. An infantry officer, a combat, active war, infantry officer, should not be blase about having someone join the team that frags their own side, even if they splurged for a slightly fancier frag. Hopefully MC is holding his cards close and will play them to drop Lady S. off the side of a cliff after squeezing as much intel/resources as possible, because if there is one thing consistent from Sparta, to WWII, to any military conflict I've heard of, you live and die by, and for, those standing next to you when blood starts to spill. You don't abandon them or push them into enemy fire just for convenience. Command already does that kind of shit, you can't have it next to you on the line as well. It's fine to make Lady S. the villain here, but the MC has to call it out at some point or it ruins his character. Even the non-military folk should be unnerved by that.

I'm engaged with the story, it's interesting and I want to see more, but it's also irksome as hell in some ways. Look forward to seeing what's next, or if tweaks revise some elements of it.

And just an aside, why do the people in the squad have so much free time? The atmosphere is way too lax, the military has a long tradition of keeping people out of trouble by keeping them busy, and The Officer doesn't even try to apply some structure to the unit, or assign tasks and jobs to people (even if it's telling Miri she's recreations officer for the week, find some movies or activities we can bond over), let alone, I don't know, running drills as a unit? If his strength is as a tactical officer, run drills, breaching, flanking, integrating tech into military maneuvers. And the best part? You don't even really need to show them at it, just show them all coming back tired and sweaty, calling it a day.

Mixed bag of an update, the loss of an LI was unexpected and while it makes sense from a story perspective I'm fairly certain Rose was one of the fan favourites so this approach definitely left a bad taste for those who like her the most.
While I get the idea of not wanting to create a power fantasy it's starting to annoy me greatly at how passive and reactive the MC is in this story. So far so good all the squad mates seem to be significantly more competent at one or more aspects of fieldwork, this would be fine if the MC was an allrounder who is decent at everything but not hyper-competent in any single field since he would have the variable experience to allow him to direct resources best but that's not the case.
So far so good he hasn't really shown us a reason for his presence nor has he shown any level of competence at his duties other than the one tactical mission, but other than that he has not displayed any other notable acts of command as getting walked all over by nearly every female shown so far and it's not a good look, I'm currently just hoping that the next chapter of this makes him more likable because as intriguing as the story is I need an MC who is interesting to follow to keep my attention long enough for the plot elements to fall into place.
Also, I don't know what you were going for here but if Safiya is to be an LI then you have done a terrible job at making her even remotely likable, anyone whose first reaction to dismantling their operations is to kill all those who work for them is not someone I could even consider trusting to have my back so as it stands her whole entry into the story has already placed her in a sour spot in my eyes.
So far the story is intriguing and I'm curious to see how the various agendas of each of the clans unfold and maybe get to know the LIs on a level where some of them actually mildly trustworthy but for me to consider following to get to that point, the MC's behavior needs to change and while I don't need him to become a power fantasy protagonist he should at least display the competency befitting his station. It's mentioned in a comment that he has a lot of reasons to be passive and I agree the problem here is how it is portrayed, so far the MC seems too reactive and we haven't had any indication that he is doing so for a future or strategic purpose, he is kinda just letting things happen without rhyme or reason, if small monologues or subtle but clear hints were dropped to show that his behavior was for some future purpose or strategic reasoning then I doubt people would complain so much.

MC, currently, is not a mysterious, strong soldier that's bidding his time and observing situation. He's not the one making compromises with grander goal in mind.

MC, currently, is a person that's resigned to his fate. He's incompetent, he's useless, everyone is better than he is, smarter than he is, stronger than he is. He's accepted any one of them can kill him at any point and goes along with them to buy few more days of living.

If MC was meant to be smart, intelligent and biding time to plan properly, some monologues would go a looooooooooooong way to establish that. Inner processes showing why he makes dumb decisions, why he keeps allowing others to walk over him, why he allows others to refuse his ideas and goes with theirs, why he's always caught flat footed.

Ever watched Death Note anime?
You've got 25 episodes of pure orgasm with battle of wits between Yagami and L.
This VN so far are last 12 episodes of the show, with MC being incompetent fool Yagami Light turned into while others are N, capable and smart.
It's still a good story, but there's no balance.

If MC is truly meant to be smart and not just going along with it because he's surrendered himself to doom, show it, please show it. Because he's unbearable currently. He has literally nothing going for him.

Mystery is fine. Every single aspect, every single element, every single character, being complete mystery is just a mess.

This is actually where fantasy and reality both tell the truth. Fighting styles like Judo (which I personally trained in) and Aikido focus on using weight disparities and pressure points to your advantage. My sensei, a dude in his mid 60s weighing 160 lbs., could easily toss my ass at 212 lbs over his shoulders and hips like I weighed nothing.

Elise and Lana both use fighting styles which utilize their backgrounds (remember when Lana shared her story about being a performer?). It's unsurprising that someone who was trained in traditional combat styles would struggle again unique styles as there isn't any known counter he could've learned.

CoMS takes place however far into the future (I can't remember if it was actually stated or not) in a fictitious setting. Snow white hair (which is what we see on Rose and Safiya) could be interpreted as indicators of danger or power due to the unnatural-ness of their hair color.

Sometimes the scope of a project may change if the developer prioritizes the story over lewd content. The ending to Ch 2 didn't really leave GT with much room to throw in a scene considering it's setting up the plot for Ch 3.

It's a case of which you prefer: sex scenes, or story progression.

He knows he is a pawn surrounded by agents of every major faction in the Empire. And he knows he isn't someone with the skills to navigate this properly. As they stated, this update leaves a bittersweet taste (Roooooooose), although it gives gain and expectation to the plot, it loses a lot in terms of characters, but we have to wait and see that it improves in the future, although several were created emotions and expectations, the fact that it took me longer to download and install the update than to play it, says a lot and more because the time between updates is quite long, another thing that is expected to improve in the future, without further, ado FFFFFF FFFF
