Remember we are talking about fap games, about slightly interactive CGI-Porn for nerds and everybody else with enough imagination to cum for a render. This genre is doomed to cater to the masses, bringing the most easiest and sought after route to release pressure. Given the Patreon success of some projects and the failure of others it is clear for every amateur developer to better bring the standard male-MC-harem-incest-taboo-route if they want to earn some money, because that's what the guys want.

Yes, we have some games with a more fleshed out and interesting story, we have some games with female MC's, and yes I'm sure there are guys out there who play these games only for their story and characters. But the 99% don't, they want hot renders and fast actions, clicking through the text to get to the next picture, missing every hint and idea of the game, leading them to this forum to ask for walkthroughs.

If you ask me, this will stay the standard, for everything else you would need a far broader audience.

I think you dont understand what I really try to say (maybe bc my english is bad) all what to say is that I prefer if al the thing wirh the D was optional, like more freely-choice, I dont know if you understand what I mean. Like yeah D falling in love with MC but MC still keep it under control.

But then it wouldn't be a porn game. There are a lot of romantic VNs with optional sex content. You should check them out! But you're not going to get that out of a sex game meant to appeal to incest loving perverts.

Yes there is a formula that seems to work, but so what? Think of horror, or sci-fi monster movies. There is a standard formula to every plot: 1. the victims are trapped and are unable to call for help or the help will not arrive in time, 2. the monster/threat has an advantage over the victims, either stronger, smarter, or some other supernatural ability, 3. the victims have either inferior weapons or no weapons, 4. the victims (one or two usually) find a way to neutralize/escape the monster/threat, and 5. if successful grind out sequel after inane sequel.
From Plan 9 from Outer Space to Jaws how many fans watch these movies/shows and are unaware they are in fact watching the same basic plot over and over?
Your point is well founded and I do like to see new ideas tried but it is often too easy for a dev to consciously or unconsciously slip into a workable formula. It all comes down to the talent of the dev.
Knowing that players do click through the text allows mediocre devs to create a game for pure profit, not a good game but one that makes a quick buck. This is not all devs, some do try to create stories with fleshed out characters and a plot line that is interesting without porn.

Watch the Blink episode of Dr. Who to see how a formula plot line can become engrossing when crafted by a good writer.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I got the impression for a moment that MrDots considered making Elena a jilted lover who rats on them out of jealousy, then came up with the idea that she'll do it by accident when Rachel sees that picture she took of D laying on top of F. MrDots is trying to figure out a way to close DMD so he can focus on Melody.

I'm on the D only route. But Elana's character has always been "You wanna fuck? Great follow me!". So she should be saying "You're fucking your F! Great! Can I get some of that action?" Either way...I have the feeling that end game is D or F blackmailing Rachael into letting them go. Elana's father is somehow part of Rachael's plot so he is also blackmailed into letting Elana go. Then Elana and D share F for the rest of their lives.

Unfortunately I think we'll only see D take the dick once or twice before the game closes.

yellomit is right about the game's popularity. Just look at how many D clones are out there and how many other games she cameos in.
If Mr. Dots wanted to kill DMD he had the opportunity. Seems like DMD is more than a game for him. The story line may have been abridged but from what has been posted by members of his dev team Mr.Dots wants to take the game to a form of its pre-ban conclusion.
Hopefully D gets banged many times in many updates and in many perversely pleasurable ways

It's just my impression from the way the story is going. Melody is gaining ground quickly, and DMD only gets updates every three months. I know MDots wants to take it back to it's former glory, but is it possible without Patreon? Perhaps I'm wrong and he has a plan to ramp it back up, and I'd be happy if that's the case.
