Question 1: Yes, and yes.

Question 2: It has nothing to do with "corrupted saves", but more so, saves that the game can't trace due to the new save system. Like Kare said, the game's format of reading saves went from Page 1, save slot 1 through 9; Page 2, save slot 1 through 9 - The way the game reads it, "1-1, 1-2, 1-3" ect... where "1" is the page, and the number to its right is the save slot.

To, Page 1, save slot 1 through 6; Page 2, save slot 1 through 6 - The game now no longer reads 7-9, again, like Kane mentioned. So renaming saves like "1-7, 1-8, 1-9" to, "2-1, 2-2, 2-3" make the game read them again.

In theory this should be an easy fix. But I can't fathom EVERYONE is going to go through this 'hassle', so to speak. Particularly when the can just activate skip mode and get to where they were within 10 minutes.

EDIT: I just realized that the corrupted saves people are referring to, are most likely the end of 0.10 evening. If you check the ending of 0.10 in 0.10 and in 0.11, Mr. Dots definitely changed that part. Like Tito said, you can't load into something that doesn't exist. So this issue, isn't really an issue at all, but more so along the lines of a developmental change. Nothing to fix here really.

I'd say 'use my mod' but I haven't tested it myself with 0.11 yet. I need to understand what Mr. Dots felt the need to change.

My idea here is, if it's just one file that needs to be 'changed back', to release a 'mod' with just the 'fixed' file (as well as modifying my own mod). Restoring the extra save slots SHOULD be a simple adjustment to the layout (which I plan to try). If it gets significantly deeper than that, it might be beyond my current RenPy skills.

Why Mr. Dots would reduce the number of save slots seems silly to me. You should give the player more options, not less. I get that some designers want to 'make it harder for you', but if that is the case, don't allow saves at all. Otherwise, people are going to save whichever way they can.

You should want people to enjoy playing your game, not have them grumbling under their breath every time you decide to change something that didn't need changing

I don't think he did this to increase difficulty, because this U.I change does nothing to impact difficulty. Instead of an infinite number of save pages multiplied by 9. It's just an infinite of number of save pages multiplied by 6. Not much difference other then a layout change.

Another thing, instead of one-click saving like in 0.10 and before, now you have to click and then press enter to get rid of the "enter description" box. So if you could get rid of said box and change it back to one-click and done, that would be great!

OK, I'm seeing a number of changes in screens.rpy. I'm about to try something simple...

Yep, my mod will put things back to the way they were... but won't let you into the game. Looking into that now (there's another change somewhere that I have to track down).

How is the new interface better? The other one was so much cleaner...

Edit: So my mod works fine with .11, but saves at the end of day 10 are broken, hence this comment. See post below for update.

OK, I have good news and bad news!

First the good news!

If you do this:
1) Install the DMD Patch (or the full .11 version)

2) Use unren.bat to extract the files. Link:

Choose option 4

3) Install my mod. You'll want the latest version:

Instructions are in the readme. Or just drag the /game folder into the D.M.D. 10 folder so that the two game folders merge

This will restore the 'old' interface! You won't have the fancy delete buttons for the saves, or the text entry fields, but you'll have all of your original saves, plus a quicksave button on the game screen. You'll also have a fancy popup if you click d's portrait in the upper right corner, and access to your autosaves.
NOTE: Mr Dots deliberately locked out autosaves and quicksaves with his latest interface tweaks, my mod will 'unlock' that functionality.

Now the bad news.

Any save after say you arrive at your apartment after the casino on day 10 will crash the game. I was actually able to click on an Elena BJ at the apt scene and that one worked, but at some point Mr. Dots changed the very very end of day 10, as pointed out in a couple of the posts above. Sooo, you'll need to back up slightly using the page up key.

If you want to attempt to 'rescue' one of these saves, I suggest opening it in a 'vanilla' version .10 (or your previous install with or without Ikaruga's and/or my mod), open it there, and then page up until you can't page up anymore, and save at that point. This SHOULD allow you to proceed from that point, although I haven't tried this.

I'm REALLY REALLY not happy about having to 'pimp my mod' as a solution, but my mod does NOT change any ingame storyline elements, it just tweaks the interface. So for those of you that liked the old interface better, and want all of your saves back, well there's my mod if you want to give it a whirl.

I like my mod a lot mind you, but it should be something you want to use, not something that you need to deal with situations like this.

Edit: r.e. the 'save labeling thing'. I'll look into adding this feature to the 'old interface'. I've been thinking about a 'delete saves' button as well, so I might be able to come up with something.

The best part of this update was the save labeling, thank God I can finally label the different routes ive played through. Other than that, it was a very short unremarkable update. Nothing happened it was essentially a rehash of the previous day.

I like having comments fields too, and I also like the delete saves buttons. I understand why Mr. Dots removed these originally (artistic decision), but his re-implementation...

I do NOT like the look of the new interface though.

I like having all of my old saves available, plus autosaves and any quicksaves I might want to make (my mod re-enables this functionality.

I'll look into a 'middle ground over the next few days that will add comment fields and delete save buttons to the old interface, in such a way that you don't have to enter anything into the comment fields if you don't want to (someone didn't like that, as it required an extra step).

Of course, for those that don't 'do mods', this may be of little use to them, but for those that like these sort of mods, well thank goodness for modders!

v0.11 is a breather, designed to get her head into the game, contemplate the wilder side of freed exploration. Though, following the walk-through is hiccupy, it has a few flaws, but you get to the main path. Still, there should be multiple walk-through's as there are multiple paths. Though, trying to juggle 3 paths with one map is fun.
Still don't trust Elena, but I think given the option to sink the ship or join the party, she may settle for second fiddle to Daughter (I always name them O) with Dad, but be team leader in girl school.
Yes, the content may be slower, but things are getting placed for 12 - 14.

The Good:
-new save file system: that allow us to organize saves in-game for the different routes (i had a folder with 4 sub-folders for each route F&D only, F&D sharing, F&E, F&G) now i can put everything in-game
-Patch mod, so you can download only the news and not the whole game
-now we know where the game will move forward to and this should be the last "blue balls" chapter

The Bad:
-filler day with only story progress but no H progress (not bad per se, but i wanted to slap D with F cock in her face at the end, cause she was just so teasy that pissed me off)
-Elena is becoming like Jessica in Dreaming of Dana

obviously i want to see some action, but in my opinion, the story is more important than the H so i'll give a 7/10 for v0.11

games with no story are no games at all

D has gone from having a (little worries) pretend boyfriend to having a real one, I believe this in turn explains any new/extra thoughts/worries she is now having about being in an incestuous relationship with F because she didn't need to think about such things while in a 'pretend' relationship with F.

Maybe I'm just old but most mature relationships I know of didn't go from no-sex to cock-slapping (reference to another's post) over night.

any one else getting the checkered screen when it should be an extra scene animation? I put the extra files in the game folder like I usually do but no luck. Even got the version with the extras already included. still no luck. did i do something wrong?

agree with all the points made. shit progress or not, this game still remains the premier VN in its genre and like it or not, MrDots does release on a consistent schedule (wish I could say that about other devs, *cough*).

When I look back at Day 1 and 2 and see how much more content we get now compared to those beginning days, it makes me appreciate more of what we have. I can't fathom how much the story line (and then subsequent coding) rises in complexity the more characters and differing choices you bring in.

I downloaded a save, put it in my C:\Users\*my account*\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\DMD-1469236204
Am i doing something wrong cause i cant see any new save in the game? I tried to open the save directly in that folder too and it gave me

Dev & Co haven't forgotten about it, they claim... So, if you're interested, keep the save before making the decision.

I don't quite see how they could exploit it, they will try, probably...
I thought is was a nice option at first, I chose what I actually do for a living, and end up in office pushing paperwork...
