Martin showed up, dropped off the car and just disappeared in the version I played. Don't select sharing routes if you don't want to share. The only one I regret is that I didn't keep up the Georgina route when you had to choose between her or Jennifer (if I remember correctly) because the bits with Georgina lately have my attention. I might have to go back and do a new run through for that route just to see all the dialog.

Yes, you can avoid it and turn it on or off anytime you like from the in game options while playing. (upper right corner by clicking the corruption meter.)
You disable/enable any content except for father/daughter.
that's something that all games should have in my opinion
