If I was MrDots I would make a shitty game and post in on patreon with about 5 renders each release and work on the game that I started my career with instead (DMD) send this one to the emails of my patreons as a bonus for supporting my shitty game but never talk about it or mention it on Patreon, that website needs shitty games? Give them their shitty games then.

On MrDots site their lead writer says "We’re pretty sure that Patreon have someone monitoring (as someone who pledges) our private group messages activity as well. It’s too risky as we’re on thin ice already!" so not possible. They tried to dupe Patreon once before, but did it too obviously and got caught. Now they're on Patreons shit-list. If they so much as cough in a suspicious way, it's over and GTFO.

"HearszAm" posted on MrDots' site that the dev-team believed Patreon had a "mole" among the DMD patrons (whether in-House or volunteer is not mentioned). If true, this could scuttle any viable 2-project attempt in future. At a minimum, DMD would have to burrow even further underground.
If Patreon wanted to be dickish with multiple devs from the get-go, plenty of non-businees people would have negative vibes regarding Patreon (business people would shrug it off if they were not directly impacted). Doing a piece-meal hatchet job allows Patreon to positively portray itself as pro-family and anti-porn.
If devs will attempt to "trade" incest games for increasingly lesbian ones--as many players fear--they're in for a rough landing.

What will happen when Patreon decides that same sex characters can't have sexual relationship.
Imagine how much we have to wait for real content if games like Glamour will have 30+characters.Something Unlimited need more than year before the fun starts.Now almost 2 and half years after the start we have around 30 characters and sex with only 1-2 of them.

Better wait if glamour ever goes full speed like Big Brother did. Darksilver loses patrons on a daily basis, probably around 500 already and the last "checkpoint" (don't know the right for it from the top of my head now) isn't even met anymore.

Why would Patreon decide that? There is a very marked difference between extreme taboos like incest and loli and things like same-sex relationships, moderate bondage etc. The later is extremely unlikely to cause Patreon (as well as its financial partners) much of an issue despite their non-family-friendly nature while the former practically invite negative PR, legal problems and exactly the kind of attention you (as a business) want to avoid.

(Hell in your example the potential negative PR of such a move would almost certainly cost Patreon far more than it would "gain" - being taht openly homophobic isn't exactly a smart PR decision.)

And I personally think that once devs (and Patreon) gain a better understanding for the situation and what they can post on the site (and to what degree they need to maintain distance to be able to avoid coming into conflict with its rules) even more "questionable" content may well find a way to finance itself via the site.

The story in this game and the interaction among characters is incredible and I am deeply filled with sadness to here MrDots plight I do hope to see the continuation of this game even if funding is to come from another source, Like simply add your Paypal so we can send money directly to your Paypal, I am sure money would to support this game, hell I would. you could even just sell random items on Ebay or Amazon or whatever and link it here and threat it as a fund raiser, I have seen that be very successful for some other game Devs.

If that should happen, I'm qutting games and becoming monk. I don't insist on Jennifers, but proportions like Georgina's are the reason why I have to always keep sickbag on standby. Assuming most pay $20 a month, he can set the minimum for his subscription based site at $19.99 a month. He delivers a new update each month, something that S&G and LOP fail to do and MrDots currently does. This may even draw in more subscribers, especially people that dislike waiting almost a year for an S&G/LOP game.

Hell, he can even offer a discounted rate for those that subscribe for a full year right off the bat. AND like S&G/LOP, he can use PayPal to set up payments.

I just went through the RIC thread. UGH!
@Boomatica was basically told that any 2nd project away from Patreon is AUTOMATICALLY against Patreon rules. As pledges collected by devs on Patreon COULD be used by patrons to gain access to the 2nd project, this amounts to a ban. @Boomatica said this was his only income and regretfully terminated RIC.
The Patreon/DMD plot thickens. BB was dropped by its dev, now likewise RIC. Just what is going on with DMD? As things stand, players' best-case scenario seems to be that 0.17 drops in mid-February and DMD is "paused" for a maybe future continuation.
There are other, more gruesome scenarios that I prefer to shutter at this time. I'll only surrender when everything is well and truly lost--not yet!!

but, if MrDots continues DmD in the shadows, while creating a spin-off where the other females will be the main characters, sure. DmD need to be scaled down, so only D route on that one. and.. a nice patch to merge it together by some "anonymous modder" (that is actually MrDots in disguise)

Or a spin off where D is grown (Taller not just in age so she looks older) and tries to start her life after her father, but the whole time her kinky way keep pulling her back into sex situations. could use cameo Jennifer (again a bit more adult) and E.

that's unlikely,majority of 3500 patrons are surely at 10 and 5$ level.If he sets that kind of website only the most loyal fans would accept to be billed lets say 20$ per month,and number of those fans would be nowhere near the current number of pledgers,just look LOP at the moment,i remember 3-4 years ago there was so many subscribers that i knew from other forums and their blog,now you can find only handful of subscribers only on their blog,that's why i doubt mrdots is considering that option
