I was a $20 Patron for a bit of time and was going to up that again, but then all this Patreon censorship nonsense happened.
It is understandable that Mr. Dots wants a stable platform which gives him an easy way to obtain and monitor funding support levels, without having to do payment management (and related liability+support) work. He just wants to know the income levels related to planned development goals.
But, I don't see why Patreon-level service is needed. There are various alternatives to consider (many discussed in a different topic within this subforum). So, for that reason, I'm not going to support their Melody work unless and until DMD progress is re-planned.
Plus, there is already a place like
Kimochi Red Light which offers a Kickstarter-style funding mechanism for adult-only games - this could allow them to obtain as much funding as needed for planned releases and more easily map out what they can afford, as opposed to only going month-month. Yes, it means they will need to budget a bit, but they won't be doing the hard work of managing the payment issues themselves:
