I have the same problem and even worse. at least you can handle 4k, if I render in 4k my rig just hangs for hours and does nothing. xD Your pictures look good tho. :) I like them. For now I fiddeling around with hdr backgrounds I´m doing for my project,to lose some rendertime in the long run.
Why do you need to do your images in 4k? Most of the images that are made to be viewed online at most are 1800 to 2000 in size max. in my opinion the only reasion you would be an image at 4k is if you plan on printing it out on paper.

Hehe true. I render most images at 2600 and scale them down to 1280 for my Nv anyways. I tryed to do some 4K for wallpapers tho, thats when my computer gets stuck. For now thats good enough for me. Don´t need 4k, and since I render backgrounds and characters apart from each other and just combine them later in PS it takes me 30 minutes per render, thats okay. I tryed some animations too, but that has to wait for a better rig, that takes ages. lol.

At first, I was rending at 7500 iterations. I kinda slept on them so I am guessing more than 7 hours.
Then I was rendering 5000 iterations - 6 hours
After denoiser knowledge. I started at 2500 iteration. 2-3 hour.
Now I am rendering only 500 iteration - 30 mins.
RIP quality. Welcome denoiser.

I will be done with 4k ones in one day. After that, I might have to consider purchasing Lightroom from pocket money before I upload them to Patreon. It's all good. I was just ranting after a long time of boorish rendering days.

I have very limited knowledge of hardware, especially CPUs. I know I don't have money so I avoided learning about them. The last news I read about GPU was RTX 3080? Rtx 2080 support has recently been added by Daz? I have dizzy memory of reading something like that.

I am sure Daz probably has limitations even among Nvidia cards. If I wanted to buy a new pc I would research a bit on Daz and probably open a thread there. Ram and Storage are also important. honestly, I have no idea but I think GPU's memory plays role in Rendering the scene cause all the scene models are stored in GPU memory. Faster RAM is good so I don't lag out and freeze. SSD over HDD for the same reason.
This is all keeping Daz rendering in mind.

If I were to buy a pc in general. I would focus more on overall support for all the 3d model software and game engines. Daz is nice but I need to step up to Unreal. I know I cant move models to Unreal just yet. I would seriously research before I bought anything. Just keep in mind what you want to do with the PC.

For me, I want to try 3d Modelling(PA's at Daz earn decent so good for that) then try making 3d game(It's fun I guess). These are probably future goals.
It is useless to wait 7 hours and 7500 ite, 15 min and 150 ite with intel denoising + resize to 1080p is more than enough.
And the quality is +/- identical

Exemple:
Base: Size 2340/3000 with 150 ite 10/15min (Hard pixelised but it's ok)
Final: Intel Denoising + resize 1170/1500

I'm looking to buy a new computer to do better and faster renders. I need a PC that can handle 4-5+ models pre-rendered in N-Iray. Anyone tech savvy know an affordable PC that could do this for me. I'm looking for something in the $500-$700 range.

Current Build:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz
Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB

Handling the models is about gpu memory, if you can't fit the scene in, then it's gonna start rendering with CPU. Unfortunately multiple GPUs won't help with that since it always tries to fit into single one. For 4-5 models I think you'd need at least GTX 1080 and that's already around 500 bucks of your budget.. and if they have some higher resolution textures, hair, clothing + scene around them, it might still not be enough. Shit adds up. You might be better of learning some tricks to compose image and render characters separately then, or other tricks to reduce memory consumption of the scene.

So a few years ago, I had planned to write a sci-fi/horror novella. Things happened and I lost any desire to write. But ideas never die and having been in lockdown for the last three months, I've had time to rethink things. I just wanted to do some quick concepts, either to see if I could respark that idea or just get those ideas out and be done with them.

So these were half an hour in Daz Studio and maybe ten minutes top. They aren't meant to be pretty but to just give me an idea of them.

The primary protagonist, basically the guy who gets the shit kicked out of him for the duration. A soldier, didn't want to be there in the first place, is stuck in this situation and is trying to get out. Wanted a slightly sinister look to his gear, hence the red and black. Armour was just done quick and dirty to give myself an idea of how it looked. Might change it if I take up the story again.

The secondary protagonist, she never meets the above, she's more the voice with the internet connection type of character. As such, she remains kinda pristine. She's helpful, but she definitely raises more questions.

Thoughts would be helpful.

Composite the shot, do it in stages.
A lot of the complicated work? It's in the planning and execution.
I always look at computing power as the last step towards creating what I want. A bigger Gfx card will do it, but it's not the only way.

That bottom scene, I'd divide into left, right and center. 2 females on the left half, 2 females on the right, and then 1 superimposed over the center (hiding the join). 3 renders, maybe 30-50 minutes per render. Cumshots done in post. (They look like they were done in post.)

My point was that I wouldn't blow 500-700 bucks on a not even decent pc now but rather spend a year learning all the stuff and save up at least twice that money. Because if you are building PC for rendering, unless you for some reason want to render with CPU, GPU is gonna be the most expensive part of that PC.. roughly around 40% the price of the whole thing, and that only if you are not buying two GPUs. So you now would either have a shitty PC with somewhat decent GPU, or somewhat decent PC with a shitty GPU (and that only if you are not buying a monitor and speakers and all that shit on top of that). And both of these options would get you into trouble later, when you'd realize you want to invest more and you'd then have to invest to both CPU and GPU either way and probably additional ram, or even the PSU if it didn't have enough juice and you wanted to use both your old and new GPU. Not talking about the motherboard you would buy now to save up not supporting the parts you'd want to upgrade later. So you would find yourself in this situation year or two from now: My PC is once again not good enough for what I need now, but to upgrade I need to basically change everything.

TL:DR - Don't buy shitty PC now, save up, buy a good one a year later.
*That was TL : DR obviously
