I don't know if you think I'm naive or stupid, but please you know perfectly why some are so outraged by this character. She's a woman, she's a LI, she's the MC's sister, how scandalous ! They feel so much hatred towards her that some wish her death, how ridiculous ! Excuse me if I find it a bit over the top and not healthy. I mean I felt more shocked by reading some of your comments than when I was playing the game.
99% of the time the MC is a womanizer in this kind of games and nobody seems horrified. By comparison, you don't get the same kind of reactions to games in which the protagonist is female while she's doing more extreme things than in this case. Why ? When you hate a fictional character in all other medias, it's because you consider that it doesn't match the criteria you consider essential in general for them to be someone you would consider fine. And whatever its gender, its age or its ethnicity, am I right ? Here it is quite another matter, it is a question of perspective, some consider that because the MC is a male female characters must behave necessarily as his property. It suits me perfectly as long as all this is fictional and fantasy, I mean I’m here for it too, but it seems that some here don't make the distinction well. Imagine your own sister decides to be a pornstar in real life, you would murder her ?? This is crazy...
Even tough you are absolutely right, "other people have a right to have an opinion about what other people do with their lives", I think there’s more to it than thinking about your neighbour’s lifestyle. Today we live in a world where everyone has an opinion about everything. As I heard somewhere "opinions are like assholes, everyone has one". However, there is a difference between making an opinion about something and making value judgments about what is right and what is wrong. Your comment leads me to say that since people are entitled to make judgments about the lives of others, you therefore tolerate all kinds of abuses that may result.
