Thank you for this reply. Finally someone who loves his games. My take on his products is that they have good and bad sides. Summoner's Legacy has some of his best scenes to date, but not all is great. Djinn is good, albeit it lacks the tension of Summoner's up to now.
Dominion looks promising. Hopefully all goes well with the development, and in the "right" direction. You didn't mention Sins of her Father ?
I love the game, but I don't know what's going to happen with it.
Its got the abandoned tag that has been there for I don't know how long.

After being abandoned for some time, it received a small update a while ago but I'm not sure if it will actually be abandoned not.

I'm hoping it continues and if it does, I'll gladly continue playing.

Some time ago the dev posted on Patreon that he doesn' t like to have an unfinished game in his inventory and announced that SohF would be finished this year. If you ask me, i find this deadline very unlikely.

Seems extremely unlikely, unless he only works on that game for now.
I just hope that he doesn't do a rush job just to complete it, because that would be the worst as it could completely ruin it.

But we'll see what happens...:cautious:

Regarding SohF, there is an older post of his companion in that forum where he writes that they plan to finish Djinn next year, and then turn to SohF. That probably means late 2023.
As far as news are concerned, there is another Bonus images post on Patreon called "Sarah 101-006". No idea who or what that is. At least it' s a sign he is working. BTW, did you play Shade ?

Yeah, I played Shade but it was replaced with Djinn as far as I can tell and that's why it's now abandoned.

Yes, it is the predecessor of Djinn and contains one additional Bonus Christmas scene.
Update : The "Sarah" post on Patreon is gone and has been replaced by two
" Norma Jean" posts (Norma Jean Baker ? Marilyn Monroe ? ) ?!

Who the hell is Norma Jean Baker? Marilyn Monroe's birth name was Norma Jeane Mortenson before assuming Marilyn Monroe as her professional name.

Also, if we see any progress on Djinn... it will be a long wait, more's the pity. The last update posted in May 2022 and was moved to an "On Hold" status a few months ago. It's sad really... I like this dev's cute and kinky stories as well as the unique art style of the rendering but they really need to either stick to kinetic AVN format, like Home Alone and Aleistra or learn how to better write Ren'Py code because these AVN titles like Djinn and Summoner's Legacy are plagued with errors that crash the game and trash your saves. Instead of concentrating on finishing one project at a time, like actually finishing Djinn, the dev has started yet another project, Dominion, which at the current rate will never finish either. I moved Djinn to a backup drive just in case it ever does complete but at this point I am no longer hopeful. YMMV...

For once, i know that Miss Monroe's birth name was Norma Jeane Mortenson. But she was baptized Norma Jeane Baker. Same source, but not the "en" version. That the dev left the "e" of the middle name out is not surprising considering his record. Question marks at the end of sentences mean they are questions, not answers. Nowhere did i imply to know for sure it means MM. Apart from that, big deal.

I learn new things all the time too... Marilyn DID go by Norma Jean Baker for a time before becoming Marilyn Monroe. In fact, I was watching a series about Hugh Hefner and Playboy recently and discovered that Norma Jean Baker (no "e" on Jean) was the name she had used with the calendar company from which Hef purchased the infamous pinup of Marilyn for his first ever issue of playboy magazine.;) Marilyn had grown rather prominent in the public eye by the time Hef was looking to publish his first issue so the image was billed under her current stage name, Marilyn Monroe.

Just thought I would share that. We were both right... depending on the year in question.(y) Had I known this when I responded initially, I would have left off the "Who the hell is Norma Jean Baker" part of the message. Was just being a smart ass there... apologies... I really meant no insult or malice. Just being playful.

Still not sure what any of this has to do with Djinn other that the dev's mention of Norma Jean... Still wondering WFT the reference is all about because there is no other Marilyn reference or character that resembles her in the game.

Alright then. Whoever she is, the dev is going crazy with " Norma Jean " Bonus posts. To date i count 6. Marilyn Monroe in games like his would probably cause legal problems. Imagine lawyers sniffing around in porn games. Worse jobs are conceivable. Thank you for your reply.

do you have to play these games in order or is they their seperate games? I see some abandoned and I just don't wanna waste time playing the abandoned ones if they are entirely different games.

So can anyone tell me if I want to play this one do I have to play summoners legacy or sins of the father etc before this one or no?
As much as they're part of the same universe, there's currently no need to play them in any order.

Regarding the part about "entirely different games", they're not that different at all... In fact, they're really, really similar, bordering on identical.

To some extent, yes. More or less the same rooms, similar looking characters, the same town and so forth. But not everything is identical, old, similar or nearly identical. The plots and concepts are actually quite different fom each other - within the boundaries of style and genre.
It gives off the wrong impression to say the games are nearly identical.

So Nun-Ya is abit Notorious for reworking rebooting and changing their inprogress works, the first game they finished Summoners Legacy went through 5 different reworks and a project reboot before it was done, Sins Shade and Djinn are all basically the same game in different stages of reworked rebooted and story changes so much so that Ive actually stopped caring about content from this dev.

No, it doesn't. It's entirely accurate. They've only recently begun to diverge from the level of similarity, but not enough.
Not just location assets, but events in locations with the exact same events in the same locations across multiple titles.
That holds true for completed, abandoned and in-progress projects.

Delta, my friend... Yes, this dev is notorious for reworking and rebooting WIP titles as well as just wandering off in the middle of a project. Summoner's Legacy is supposedly complete however I am still plagued with game breaking bugs and errors and still have not been able to complete that play. Djinn has those same kinds of bugs and errors. I wish this dev had the personal wherewithal to stick to a project until it is truly completed, mais non, they wander back and forth with far too many "irons in the fire" and we the players are the ones who get burned. If they would've stuck with fixing Summoner's Legacy until all the bugs were fixed, they would've learned more about how Ren'Py works to allow them to avoid the same errors in Djinn. Instead, Djinn has many of the same errors.

The best working titles by this dev are still the kinetic AVN short stories like, Aleistra and Home Alone. Those titles have no choices so there are no errors in the code. All the other titles that DO have choices are full of errors, glitches and bugs that desperately need fixed before moving on... But, what do they do? They put Djinn "On Hold" and run off to make yet another project that will not likely get finished. I love the kinky stories they tell and the renders and animation are unique and interesting. I like that. The stories are pretty kinky and the characters are sexy and well rendered. But, stick with one project before moving to another and another and now yet another. It's enough to drive one mad if you allow it. But, I just moved both Summoner's Legacy and Djinn off of my active game SSD drive and onto one of my old HDD backup drives just in case but if there is no move to improve these prior titles by mid 2023 I will likely just delete them both, more's the pity. I just won't wait forever. There are far too many other titles to play.

Snugglepuff, my friend... Yes, you are correct. There are huge similarities between the character renders in all of this dev's titles and extremely close parallels between Summoner's Legacy and Djinn. Legacy also draws on Aleistra rather heavily even including portions of Aleistra into the Summoner's Legacy story. Djinn has the connection to the Egyptian goddess Bast aka Bastet who is the daughter of Ra in Egyption mythos whereas Summoner's Legacy and Aleistra access the magical/supernatural side of the story through the Judeo-Christian concept of the devil. However, this devil is the "Queen of Hell" and depicted as a female and a futa in game. All of that makes for interesting story telling to be sure but the similarities remain readily evident to all who take the time to notice. They are essentially the same story told through different characters which have further similarities because of the character cloning across the various titles. I'm not saying that all of the characters are identical, just that there are sufficient doppelgangers across the titles to warrant such a comparison.

Hell... that isn't even mentioning all of the similarities in the world spaces or gameplay. But, I've rambled on enough for today, I think. Hahaha:ROFLMAO:

Hope this helps y'all out, my friends. Have a great day! Adventure ever on, Phat:devilish:(y)

This is the point at which i stopped reading your reply to me. I deliberately didn't mention, at all, the character aesthetics and the "similarities".
If you're going to address people's points, have the common decency not to imagine things that weren't there.

I'm fully aware of the in-universe connections between multiple titles.
I'm fully aware of the reasons given for both Shade and Sins of Her Father being abandoned, including conflicting reasons given by two different people about project cancellation/abandoning - both Nun Ya and Fallen Angel.
Do not treat others as though they don't know what they're talking about, because they may just have been following the relevant things for longer than you have...

What the actual Fuck, dude??? NONE of what I said was an insult! I was simply agreeing with you!!!:unsure::unsure::oops::oops::oops:

Yes, I did expand on what you had said. I have a propensity toward being a bit verbose. But, I was none the less AGREEING with you, sir.

Have a good day, Phat:oops:

Some people, am I right? I feel like the internet has stolen humans ability to kindly communicate in an articulate and empathic way.

Good on you Papa for having such tenacity to not let this age of narcissism and inflated ego ruin your ability to stay gentle. :)

As for the game, I agree this is a sad situation. I wish the dev would work out the bugs in summoners leg, and if they want other side projects, stick to KINETIC novels. IMO Aleistra is a really cool story premise, and the renders are good. Plus I havn't had any bugs playing it. Its liner and so likely much easier to code.

If Nunya, and Fallen A would just focus on 'upgrading' their dev abilities, by way of adding galleries, and fixing the bugs in Summoners leg then I feel like they'd be well on the path to success. Then, and only then they can learn how to make a game WORK. THEN they can make a masterpiece of a VN with choices and multiple endings.... It feels like they're rushing themselves and holding too lofty of expectations compared to their abilities. It's sad to see an artist hold themselves to unrealist standards compared to their current ability, instead of focusing on the journey and growing with the flow.
