I would assume there was no real progress since end of April. Even if the developer comes back to work on that beauty, we are probably very far away from an update. 
Everything else would be a huge surprise.
Really sad, since it is one of the most anticipated games on my list.

I don't know, but like sahadeva said, Sp0nt3x entered f95 on June 22 for the last time, as you can see on the profile. And first post since last announcement Sp0nt3x made (in June 8) which asks about either the dev or the game being alive or not:
Was in June 28, 6 days after Sp0nt3x's last login. So I think it's useless to ask here too often about the game/dev being alive or not, you should use a more direct way to contact the dev (Discord or e-mail, if any of you manage to find the latter).Please give a sign of life!
Though, I can completely understand your despair if you paid for the game, being the case I can only say I feel sorry for you.

Last I heard about the dev he had some sort of complications with COVID at some point, resulting in a significant delay. On his discord, this was said by someone like a month ago.
Sp0nt3x is alive and well, so there's nothing to worry about.
I know he's too busy for personal reasons right now. I can't vouch for anything, but he expects to find the time to get back into it starting in September.

Loved the premise and a couple of scenes that is already there. Read here that dev might had a problems with covid, hopefully he is well! I hope this won't get abandoned.

after a well deserved vacation, i'm going to resume the production of the game in september
I'm putting the billing on pause again in September as I'm not sure how fast I can progress. My work has taken up a lot of my time in the last few months, but I hope to be able to give you more news on my progress very soon.
