If I'm real honest... I've had difficulties playing to the end of this update... this was my first playthrough and I only managed to get through it because I was completely @#%faced... I've lost a family member myself 2years back, and had to deal with the aftermath of child abuse.
I doubt I would've been able to do so when sober...

This is what I love about Dreams of Reality. More than 90% of games on here, even some of the good ones, consist of pretty much the same clichéd story of a young man, slowly becoming irresistible to some or all of the LIs in the game, with not much else really happening but bits of filler (going to the movies, shopping for clothes, going to class, etc, etc.).

As a stark contrast to these other games, the story is interesting, all on it's own. Also, your game is probably the only one I can think of where the wife of the MC is probably the most sympathetic character, and going behind her back really feels like a betrayal, which is it of course. It's a reflection on the quality of your writing and characterization just how much we all, as players, care about each of the primary characters.

Both Louise and Kimiko (and the MC of course) have experienced such pain in their history, that it is extremely compelling to find out, over time, how each of these characters can grow past it by their evolving relationships with each other.

As for the erotic scenes:
I like having scenes and relationships with dominant women in games!
Therefore, I liked the scenes with the dominant Ms.Thompson(!) and the dominant Melissa!
I hope the game will continue to have scenes and relationships with dominant Ms.Thompson, Melissa, Danielle!-(They look natural in a dominant role!)
(I think it would be suitable for Danielle to be the dominant Danielle!)
It would be nice to also try this with Louise and Cindy.

While this game seems to have great writing, as soon as the MC told his daughter she could drive home, I knew this was not the game for me. I play these games for escapism, not to have my heart ripped out.

I had a hard time getting into this game, a lot of scenes are too dark and I find some characters quite ugly, but the writing and the story ended up seducing me.
Unfortunately, I will wait for the final version of the game, there is nothing more frustrating in games with points of relations and with several paths, to miss scenes hidden behind a paywall. (like the anal with louise when she paints or the scenes of Chantelle and many more in future updates).

I am not saying everyone should be like me, just that I have seen enough actual bad things IRL, that I don't want to see them in my escapism. The thing I most want is no violence, no tragedy, no non-con, good humor, some of my personal kinks(watersports, light sub/dom/spanking/facesitting/light choking) and a myriad of body types(every female with beach ball boobs is a big meh for me, gimme some variety).

In game/Chapter_scripts/end_screen_ch1.rpy, on this line:

text "- You let someone else fix the photocopier, choosing [mt] over [l]" style "char_end_text"

You should change mt to Mt as this leads to an error on the chapter end screen when Louise is selected.

Also in rel_screen.rpy, j_help_l_alone isn't handled correctly since it shows something in the relation screen in chapter 2 that is affected by a choice made in chapter 3.
You could fix that by initializing the variable as None instead of False and checking for that before showing the line at all.

LSD overdose isn't plausible - while you can technically overdose on anything, even water, there have been cases of people accidentally taking 500+ doses and surviving with medical care. You should change that to some of the 'usual suspects', heroin, cocaine, etc

Dextromethorphan in pain meds is also a bit silly - it's only used for relieving cough.

I second that. I was initially attracted to AVNs here due to the sexy stories, and I still enjoy playing them for the fun of it, but I keep seeing the overdone tropes we have all seen a thousand times. I've grown to really love the handful of games here that push the medium to more emotional depths: like Dreams of Reality and a few others I can think of like One Day at a Time and Leap of Faith.
