Well. The game hasn't been updated in .... going on 2 years and 3 months.
What he HAS updated are his excuses, lies, and promises that he always breaks. Oh, but he DID finally admit to being lazy.

Yet another meaningless date. His most recent one was May 23rd and he said he'll try to release sometime in the summer.
Seriously, if you had been given money to burn monthly and you were naturally lazy, imagine what the money would do to you.
What the right thing to do would have been to:
• suspend the Patreon campaign once the delay got too long
• not bolt on any features not already promised, but instead focus on finishing Part X as promised
• resume Patreon campaign and release the damn game
Assuming he earnestly wants to finish this game, he wants to add animations? Sure thing, by the next release. Adding animations this late in the development cycle just delays the release without any meaningful reason to do so.
The problem with gumdrop is that while he finally admitted to being lazy, he didn't do the right thing and thought rendering animations and integrating them in the game would be easy and he'd be able to do it in the months before May 23rd. That he would, in fact, be able to do it in a week or two and buy all the time needed to finish the actual content and CGI for the game.
We know how that worked out for him.
Nah, that would be too simple. He was probably kidnapped by UFO, and now aliens are making social experiments to test human behavior.

Yes, exactly. It takes a lot of time and dedication to continue making these games. It's not exactly fun putting in all this time to make a porn game and it's completely understandable why someone would want to stop working on their game and lose interest. That's what gumdrop did, but he didn't want to come out and say that because then he wouldn't also be making a shitload on money on patreon if he did. It's not a long-shot to believe someone got tired of working on their game which takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to create, but wanted to keep his money rolling in so he continues to act like he's still developing it.
If you put out a deadline it's because you can reasonably expect to be done with the game by that date. When gumdrop put out a deadline in 2018 it's because he reasonably believed he could finish it by then but he didn't. He did the same thing multiple times in 2019 and 2020.
Clearly those past deadlines were bullshit, there's no excuse for a delay in for a deadline in 2018 to take over 2 years to complete, that's ridiculous. There is no excuse for a delay for a deadline in 2019 to take over a year to complete. There is no excuse for a delay for a deadline at the start of 2020 to take over 6 months to complete. It's obvious all his past deadlines were lies and bullshit, because he's stringing along his patrons.
You're a fool if you think gumdrop is actually working on these animations in blender. The animations were completed by fatcat, an experienced animator with a proven track-record of quality animations. Gumdrop has been going on about fatcat working on these animations for him for like over a year and they do not take that long to be made, they don't take anywhere close to that. It's pretty obvious gumdrop was lying about the length it took for fatcat to create these animations, and it's even more obvious now that he's lying about working in blender to finish the animations because fatcat finished them months ago.
Plus, it makes no sense for gumdrop to work on animations in blender when he has no experience on it and it's already been over 2 years without an update. If he was serious about getting the update out he'd just pay someone who knows what they're doing to work on them, especially when he's making thousands and thousands of dollars a month. Again, you're a fool if you think gumdrop is actually working on anything in blender, let a lone animations.
I mean, he's clearly not working on the game though, he has nothing to show for it. If he had spent the last over 2 years working on this game, he'd have completed a huge amount of work by now and would have plenty to show for it. Yet, his most recent evidence of him working on the game were renders from his old christmas update? lol. It's pretty obvious he's not working on the game and is fully aware of what he's doing. This isn't some lazy guy who has been running into some snags with development, the time where that was a believable scenario has long since passed. After over 2 years with nothing to show for and countless provable lies it's pretty clear that gumdrop isn't working on the game and is deliberately leading his patrons on to keep the money flowing.

I don't know what sort of work fatcat does. I mean, my understanding was that an animator prepares the actions, movements, and so on, but the environment, the models, props and so on are what the one who commissions the job does. So all that fatcat did for gumdrop was an animation definition which now gumdrop has to create scenes for, add models and render it.
(If I'm wrong and fatcat did all the work for him, I have no idea what gumdrop is talking about Blender now. Please correct me since I must have been wrong up there.)

So, my post was deleted for being OT.....this thread is basically un-moderated, literally the last 400 pages have been OT if that post was OT.
First time that has happened in this thread. My post was about Gumdrop, which is very on topic.
Anyway, since I have a good memory, here is the post again, not exact but pretty close.
Gumdrop didn't start as a scammer. He legitimately made the game for a while. Then he missed a deadline like many devs do. Then he missed another...and then he thought "Hey...wait a second, how far can I take this" and that's when the milking started. He learned that he can make money by doing nothing, so why would he work for money instead?
Blender is a more advanced program, but it doesn't take 2 years to learn. I know of at least 2 devs that learned enough to be functional pretty qucikly. There are literally training courses you can take. Besides, fatcat has said the animations are complete. If GD wants professional quality animations, he has to hire a professional to make them.

Since the moderators also deleted my comment I will say it again: the person claiming that Blender "is extremely difficult to learn" and is the reason for the delay not only never shows any evidence for it, basic knowledge of animating and Blender would tell you he is also lying.
The difficulty in animating comes from animating itself, not the tool you use for it. It's like saying that he is taking too long to draw something because he is using a new pencil. In reality he has no skills, he is a scammer which is doing no work whatsoever and has no intention of doing so, this was abandoned in 2018. He doesn't even need to rig shit, he is taking stuff from the DAZ store already rigged. I repeat, a few shameless people keep popping up in this thread to try to mislead people and keep excusing this scam. Don't fall for it, they are dishonestly spreading false information. Previously, the very same people rationalizing this scam told me that Python/Renpy can't be decompiled, which is also a lie (if you report it on Patreon, you will find evidence there). They will also tell you that Patreon will ban you if you report this game for violating guidelines on rape/incest . They are shameless, and if you call them out they will harass you with PMs too.

Disclaimer: I know nothing but rumors I read from other users and developers I respect, that is why I ask. If I ask stupid question sorry. The question are born from a lack of knowledge and common stupidity, but absolutely not bad intentions.

1) So what I heard is that this game has not have any update in two years? Is that right?
2) I went to his patreon website and is currently holding 718 patreon. Assuming the answer to the previous question is yes. Is he pausing his subscription?

3) I have seen many people accusing developers of milking, but they are developers that faster or slower produce. I always believed that under those conditions, if their subscriber are happy to be "milked" there is no need to complain, as it is their money and they can do whatever they want. Having said that, can anyone explain me the rationale of still giving money to this guy? cause at some point I can no longer justify it, with so many great developers getting very little support.

This game is the first game I played when exploring these type of games. Disappointed that it's most likely abandoned.
