DOWNLOAD: Ecchi Sensei - Halloween Special 2020
Hello, guys!
As promised and announced, we've got something for you this week - the freely available Ecchi Sensei Halloween 2020 Special!
Yes, you read correctly. No matter whether you financially support the game or you are a filthy leech (kidding aside), you get this year's Halloween Special!
But it doesn't end there...
As we are mostly working on Month 1, we use the Halloween Special to test a few features from Month 1 in a live fire situation, and to show some of our progress.
I present to you a few things from our work on Month 1 that we have added to the release of Ecchi Sensei Halloween 2020:
Let's begin with a small but not insignificant change...
The main menu:
Of course there is a new image for the Special which shows you at first glance that Crazy Nurse fucked up again *Teehee*
The exciting bit is on the left hand side. The navigation bar.
A button has been replaced and now you're seeing "Discord" instead of the Gallery. (Don't worry, the Gallery will be back with Month 1 and accessible using the toolbar.)
If you press on "Play" now or load a save using "Load" so you are ingame and press the right mouse button, things look as follows:
The navigation bar changed again. Instead of the "Changelog" button you see "Main Menu" - click it and you're back to the main menu. Great, isn't it?
Yeah yeah, I know, not particularly exciting, but functional!
Let's get to even more boring things:
May be completely unimportant to you, but you still gain from this change. We have started replacing the individual images in the Config (and other parts of the user interface for Month 1) with coded dynamic images. This leads to two advantages:
We can let the texts be displayed in your language, and we save you many superfluous megabytes. Just from the Config screen alone we've cut 20 MB which you won't have to keep downloading for every game update, and that's just the beginning.
We're continuously working on making Ecchi Sensei more compact, structured, and prettier for you!
Next up there is a big announcement regarding the multilingual diversity of Ecchi Sensei!
Next to German and English, a third world language joins this Special. It's baguette! Uh, I mean, French...
We managed to convince Nanashi, who agreed to tackle the French translation of Ecchi Sensei for Month 1, to show off his translation skills for the Halloween Special.
All those of you who speak the language can rejoice now.
On top of that, to improve accessibility, we added a language setting to the
toolbar as well.
Now you see your chosen language next to the smartphone.
Just click it to change it. This shows the available language as well as the languages that are planned to be added.
If you choose French, for instance, this change is visible immediately as the language symbol changes. Due to the way the game is coded, it takes a few clicks to make this change applied in the game itself. But you can roll back using the mouse wheel and click to see the newly chosen language in the text box:
As you see, not only the dialogue, but also the names of the speakers are translated.
Speaking of the text box...
Onto the next feature!
You know that it's very important to me to make things as comfy as possible for you and give you as much freedom as possible. Since we now have a very motivated new programmer, I'm totally exploiting that (unfortunately for Akanoes, said programmer, who often gets driven to despair because of my feature ideas *teehee*).
You know, you can use the "Design" page in the "Config" to change the dialogue box, font, and color. The latter used to be restricted to pre-selected colors. WE CHANGED THAT!
Not only can you use a RGB slider to set the font color, you can also set the transparency and choose an outline color and modify the outline's transparency and thickness.
Amazing, isn't it?
In the future (not in Month 1) you'll also be able to use the same function to change the name of every individual character.
You want Fuyu to have a color other than purple? No problem, you can change that. Just like the outline's color, thickness, etc!
But as this is a fuckhuge piece of code work and we want to finish our work on Month 1, it won't be able to make an appearance in Month 1. But it's gonna come for sure!
Now onto the Smartphone 3.0:
The hours and hours we've sunk into the smartphone... OMFG... But we reached the point where we hardly need to tinker with the smartphone any longer.
The new smartphone comes with a new design and new functionality. We added it to the Special so you can try out the new parts. I hope you like it. If not, feel free to voice your complaints on Discord in the #shitposting channel ^^
The last change is something I've been desiring for more than a year, something that finally got implemented, thanks to the hard work of the entire team:
The Ecchi Sensei Speedbar!
This feature is still in development and is part of a bigger feature: "Ecchi Sensei Control Panel", which is still in its infancy, but for Halloween 2020 I really wanted to test the Speedbar, and it works!
As this is a public post in which I'm not allowed to show lewds, I'll just explain to you what this feature does:
Thanks to the slider which appears for every NSFW animation (which can be hidden using the thingy on the right hand side or the H key) you can control the speed of animations.
If you move the slider up, the animation is sped up. If you move it
Bewegt ihr den Schieberegler nach oben, wird die Animation schneller von Statten gehen. If you move it downwards, it's like slow motion.
In Month 1, you will be able to control the speeds of all NSFW animations which are programmed using individual images using that slider.
Like I said, this feature was really important to me and I've been wanting to add it for a long time. However, we were lacking the know-how which we finally have. I hope you are happy with this and all the other changes.
The Ecchi Sensei team will keep on walking unconventional paths to deliver you maximum game enjoyment.
Now all that's left for me to say is that we wish you lots of fun with the Halloween Special, and stay healthy!
The next status report will be out on November 8
