I mean, it's only been a bit over a week since this post was made by BlueCat, so it's not like we've gotten radio silence. It's not like this is Gates Motel...

One month as in calendar month. Week 1 is second week of month. So the three weeks is entirety of month 1 (excluding the week before game starts).

I believe the devs said they were adding another week to make it 4 weeks total. I could be wrong, I'm not a Patreon and I read that post a month or so ago.

The dev made it very clear that there is no new content added in the merger. Just a bunch of new features are being added to the code and the specials are going to be incorporated into it.

Id think the new features are what is taking so long then and would make it worth replaying what they already have. I saw someone else point out that there will be new content soon after so, I'm happy either way. Can't wait to have the game going again.

Tbh, I think the previous amount of patrons with pale in comparison to what will be achieved after an update or two, when the merge is released. Having said that, I doubt Blue Cat makes this game simply for more money than other large projects on here. I don't think that'll be a priority
They've already said though that the next merge is not happening for at least a year, and so the development of this game will be quite substantial until then. Besides, he's already planned out the next few in game days too. They're prepared for life after this merge, and progress will be fast

well this merge was after one year so yeah. expect the same at least. as far as planning ahead I would hope he has a roadmap for that year to come. I never believed for a moment that he was developing one day at a time, it would have been foolhardy to do so, and Blue has shown both reliable updates (until very recently) and a lot of content.

Again though. thinking that the project will skyrocket after the merger is a bit too optimistic. Especially when all but an extreme few never recover from such an absence or revamp of this kind.

Not really. That's what happened last time they did this. So, there's good reason to think it'll happen that way again.

Am interested to give this game a try. But I am confused by the different weeks and versions.
Do i need to download all previous weeks to understand the story, gameplay & characters?
Or does the latest download (week 3 I assume), contains all previous weeks?

Gotta download the 3 weeks as individuals (weeks 1 and 2 are in the spoiler tag underneath previous weeks, and the specials are also individual downloads) also the darkmind patches for incest/non patreon approved content are also divided into the individual pieces of weeks and specials. A merger of all of the weeks and specials content has been announced for the near future, which should make the process much easier, with (just guessing but a good guess) only one darkmind patch. Should wait for that, and trust me, the content is worth it.

i totally recognize how difficult a merge like this is, but how hard can it be to give a general ETA if you miss a deadline like this? if they're that worried to set another deadline that they can potentially miss, then surely that means they're even further away from being done than they're letting on, in which case they should just say that too, right? not gonna stop being a patron or anything, but i do wish there was a little more transparency

Yeah, I'm not sure why they stopped the weekly status reports. I trust them to get the job done, as I've been through this before, but it's a bad look to go into radio silence after missing the deadline. Especially for people who don't poke there head in here regularly.

Because people would be bitching at Blue saying they're almost done, every week, and that's all he can ever really say. The actual shit is nearly there but with such a complex fucking game merge like this (This is THE LARGEST VN OF ALL TIME remember?) the team manager is going over it in detail to ensure shit isn't broken on launch. This team doesn't want to have something be broken on release, and have to keep patching, sit tight, the wait is nearly over. You can trust me because no god damn reason I just know more than any of you about the progress.
