The thing with the merging is I don't think a lot of the features and mechanics are necessary. The phone stuff, the future sandbox stuff, the dial thingy in the top of the screen etc. I feel like they're making things more complicated than they need to be. Just do a normal VN and split the download every X number of days/weeks when it gets too big.

Another thing I'm not sure they've prepared for is when this game is months long, it's going to be very difficult to download for a lot of people. I can't see myself downloading a porn game that is a few dozen gigs in size.

I think the game is becoming more about quantity, and less about quality.

Seems that the past few days there have been a lot of posts from people upset with the devs and advocating un-pledging. I'm not going to comment about that, but I will say that I HAVE NOT pledged because when I looked at the patreon I did not see:
  • A freaking game plan. Do they have the plot for the whole year or are they just winging it?
  • Where are they in writing? Have they outlined day 22/365? Day 40/365? Day 300/365?
  • What are their current technical blockers and what steps are they making to mitigate that risk?
  • Is he (sorry if I've assumed the wrong gender) going to hire/contract additional help at certain funding milestones to improve the product and push it out faster?
  • What is the business plan? Is this a labor of love or when done will it go on Steam or something?
Without this kind of information I don't feel like its a worthwhile use of my money. Just my thoughts.
I remembered seeing something that indicated that certain people have knowledge of things way ahead of us, but while looking for it again, I instead found BlueCat straight up saying that he shares up to day 100 spoilers with people above certain Tiers. So it seems there's a least a layout of a plan.

He already has hired additional help.

And it seems to be a labour of love, but I've only got their word for that.

Other than that, I can't provide any info, sorry. I'm just a scrounger myself, so what info I have access to is very limited.

That's fair, but I like that stuff. I feel the product is generally better with it there as it gives a bit variety outside of clicking through dialogue. Without it, I'd probably wouldn't replay Month 1, and just skip through in order to get my saves read for Day 22.

I agree that I'm not sure they've considered the long term download sizes, but Month 1 will probably be smaller than what we currently have because Week 1 was poorly optimized due to inexperience. So, silver lining I guess?

I haven't really seen a drop in quality to be honest. I think this is just a matter of different tastes though.

Hello, decided to try this game out and started from the first week, how unforgiving is the game when it comes to choices? In the first week when I meet the school principal there is an option to flirt or not to flirt with her. If I choose to not flirt with her at the first choice will it lock me out from her route and not give me any chances to get back into her route if I reject flirting with her at that momment?

You'll lock yourself out of that specific sex scene, but you'll have other opportunities. There's also a few scenes that are mutually exclusive in week 1 too. Other than that, it's generally pretty safe.

That said, you may want to hold off playing for now. There's a bif merge of all the current content due soon, that will come with bug fixes, properly implemented mechanics and will be the only way to carry over saves when new stuff starts coming out. The current release is a bit jank.

The scope he desires add complications so these features come hand in hand with addressing issues that will be presented from that. Stupid silly number of chicks to bang? Your gonna need the sandbox so players can get to the ones they wanna fuck instead of being on rails with copious amounts of ones they dont. Then there is fact how is everyone supposed to remember who is who? or manage the insane amount of saves to access all those scenes on demand? Well they need to have the gallery in place for all of the first months content for that and the phone app which for too many didnt even offer their bios and the likes so there is dozens of characters i can sit here and honesty visualise but not remember their names and many more even less details were memorable.

He wants to create a game where you literally experience every day in a year of a pervy teachers life. That needs this many characters and this much variety or it will die out long before completion no matter how on board they are with the project hence were getting all sorts of seeds planted for different storylines to come and different bonds being formed between all these girls they can tap into in the future (and generally he has said hes an update or two ahead in the game so its not like theyve stalled all progress with the game - only thing he has sacrificed or admitting to is there will be at least one less special released in 2021 due to development focus on the new features and increased number of languages). This means something has to change and as you said my friend there is a risk of looking like quantity over quality hence the changes - we could have just had many more updates with more girls fucked with barely a care in the world and underdeveloped. That would have been EASIER in all honesty lol.

All of us who have played the game will tell you its good and we enjoy the premise and indeed most of the scenes and girls but its been a messy project from the start and hes taking what theyve learned since and implementing it to address the many complaints weve had with the game for a long time vs just soldiering on doing what they were doing. Somehow addressing fan complaints and rectifying issues in broken features and far too big a download in likes of week one constitutes milking fans by certain posters... as always expert analysis from people who dont even back the game telling people not to back the game (how noble people are to tell people what to do with their own money). The only shock here was the missed release date at end of December, hes apologised for that and deliberately not given another firm one till he knows its gonna be released then but otherwise this merge was announced well in advance and hes released many posts regarding its progress over 2020 so why are people surprised?

Well, take Being A Dik or A mother's love or any other large VN's for example. They all have too many flags or triggers or points that calculates along with you as you play the game which will direct you to some events and endings. Ecchi Sensei doesn't have any of this backend programming stuff. yet they talk about coding etc, what are they coding then?

Take BADIK again, they are adding many different game mechanics, in last one Episode 6 they have introduced a whole new mechanic where you manage the DIK house etc. This was implemented in the middle of the game as a new mechanic. and they just released an update to merge with the main folder. you have only 1 save and 1 game folder not like ES, where at some point I had 3 game folders and many saves.

What I'm saying is and the reason why I point out "largest and longers VN of all time" is, the devs are mentioningin this every time and everywhere. They're lazy and try to cover it with showing repetitive stuff they did to ensure you that they're not being lazy. Repeating the broken codes over and over again, will net you largest code base for a game with a shit ton of bugs. but they just say "Longest code writing." When I read his/her updates he/she ALWAYS talk about writing codes, tell me, you're using Ren'PY and don't add anything to the game. The game is the same since it's released, not a single new gameplay mechanic, there's a phone but with bugs and poor design. Since tha game was released (2018) there are still things that say "WIP" inside the game, calendars that do nothing, the top menu doesn't function at all. What codes are we talking about here?

Then there's Treasure Of Nadia. I don't like this game either... why? they have a strict worktable and they're releasing updates every 2 weeks. the problem is, the content is too low (%2-3 progress at max) that you get your updates but it's just not feel like playing a game but more like watching porn or something. at least for me. You can forget about the game for 2 months, miss 4 updates, and when you return and play all of them, it will take 10-20 mins at max. I will be bold and say this is milking patrons as well in my book. since they are delaying the ending as much as possible and opening the valve only tiny bit for a long time.

All in all, this game has no rights to take this long between updates. And I have mentioned the mess with they days>weeks and weeks>months transition. dev mentioned they hired staff etc. why aren't threy still making all the content so far into a base game, and add updates like any other VN devs do? instead of updates they're making us download whole game again and move our saves. I mean, I havent seen any dev do it like this. where you download updates as new games.

Also, the main problem of this game, why can't I free roam in the campus? why there isn't any random encounters? I could snek up around the school and if my stealth or luck is high enough I could encounter lesbian action with students and if my charisma is enough i could join, or I can blackmail "not seems to possible in this game's universe tho" or I could choose to spend my time with only one student for all the time. Fuyu for example, she's understanding for MC to have a harem and supporting him but i would love to have an option where I only have fuyu or fuyu and tomoe. This game has so much potential as an RPG open world genre. the game forces you to play linear path that you cna't traverse. We're playing the fantasy of the dev who's doing this game. nothing wrong with that, but tha game could be much much much more than just being a linear fantasy VN. I remember so many scenes with so many characters that I never wanted to have. and how much sex can MC do in a singel day. I remember in one of the days, we had Fuyu, crazy nurse, some other students and at the end of the day we still banged the waifu as well. the game asks if you want to vang the waifu, after all the stuff happaned at school. but why is it asking if there's no disadvantge or any flags present in the game? it's so linear. I truly was expecting a bad ending where if you go spend time with mika for so long, she would turn into yandere mode and star harrassing or killing the other girls you meet. or you. like I said, you're just mindlessly banging people. no flag checks, no stats no consequences. This game is being wasted on this dev I'd say. and I still don't understand when you don't have anny of these mechanics inside the game, how can you tlak about coding and how hard it is to optimize etc. there's literally nothing being improved or added so what's making it so hard?

Ok, but the "biggest code" thing, still doesn't matter. It's a marketing thing, that's all.

The last update explicitly mentioned that the next few days are pretty much done, for the most part. There's no point adding it to the busted current release if it's just going to add more time to the Month 1 merge because they'd need to include it.

There are a few games that do it, but they treat them more as "sequels" or "seasons". Basically the same thing, but instead of "Seasons" Ecchi Sensei has "Days" and "Weeks". Also, it avoids the issue of needing to download an increasing large file every update. This will be a single game eventually though, so any problems in the earlier stuff will end up becoming problems in later stuff. That's why Month 1 is happening, so the devs can prevent the problems caused by their inexperience early on from turn the entirety of the game into a janky mess.

Free Roam is going to be implemented in the Month 1 Merge. It'll be very limited at that point, but future releases will be giving us the freedom to interact with whatever girls are available in the after school period. Not sure if that will cover all the things you just said you want out of it, but none of it would be out of character so I don't see why not.

Wow I can't believe the amount of bootlickers on this forum. I'm mostly a lurker here but seeing some of these recent posts got me pretty riled up.

Let me preface this by saying that Ecchi Sensei story/game-wise is one of the best there is, it's the reason I fell in love with the game when it launched and pretty early on joined the patreon tier that was $20 a month. The dev provided: consistent and good updates with content, something many games on these site end up failing due to not having consistency. I upped my patreon to $30 because I believed in the game, and felt justified in the cost.

Then came up the merger. Ok. I didn't like it but I get why it had to be done. Promises were made, "status reports" ensured it was coming, and then months later, "oops its still not out." Over $180 down the drain with little to show for it except some extra patreon exclusives, and people called Cyberpunk a scam. I'm not saying the devs are intentionally scamming, but their attitude in the latest status reports, combined with ppl defending the devs anytime anyone has criticism has become ridiculous and questionable.

You can love the game and still be disappointed in the devs. I unsubbed when they failed once again to deliver on their promise to get the merger done by January. Do what you will with your money, just my 2c.

Hi, I remember looking into this game before and I dont remember the 9 year old daughter yuki matsumoto being there. Is she in the game originally in the DM patch and is there a way to remove her from the game without turning off incest?

Don’t think she can be completely removed from the game but the interaction with her is very limited, very tame and completely optional even with DM-patch. So no need to worry.

I'm not sure if you're referring to me or not, but I'm not bootlicking. I'm just correcting misinformation when I see it.

I agree that them going silent once it missed it's deadline was a bad move, and a bad look. You're more than in your right to stop supporting them too.

At the end of the day, I hope they get their shit right with the first month merge and all the saves and shit just work going forward. Whenever we get to the 6 month merge it would be a disaster if you're forced to play that to continue into the updates after if the current saves weren't compatible with the next merge.

I'm mostly a lurker (and on and off sub of the game) but honestly I don't see the past couple of pages as bootlicking, like Randocard said lots of misinformation is being spread so fans of the game are combating that misinformation. Some posts literally boil down to "I want it now, everyone unsub from Patreon to pressure the team" and people tend to respond by pointing out that isn't the best way to go about it.

Now I don't agree with the radio silence but I can understand it because some people have done nothing but spew bile and be negative towards BlueCat, Latecomer, etc due to the delays both when they posted a status update and complained everyday there wasn't a status update. Most interactions at that point just boiled down to demands for updates. With attitude like that I can understand why they went the radio silence route even if I personally think it was a bad call.

If people want to stop following the game or cancel their patreon sub while waiting for the Month merge then fair play to them, but pushing everyone else to do it and spreading misinformation is where many people draw the line.

Just cause people are correcting misinformation instead of joining the "Blacklist, insult and harass dev team" crowd doesn't mean they are bootlickers.

We all want this merge to be released soon, nobody here is worshipping the development team. What we are doing is explaining the situation, and being patient. The only other option is to start insulting each other and abusing the dev team, which would achieve nothing
Almost everyone, including the devs, feel frustrated with the time it's taken for this merge. They've said themselves that they'd rather spend time on new content rather than painstakingly long merges, but this is the way it's got to be. They put those features in there in the first place, and now they are fixing them. And it will be released soon. Arguing won't speed the process up, it'll probably just slow it down. The insults aren't valid. And aren't needed
The silence is not positive. But again, insults won't change anything

From reading pretty much this entire forum. Things can be summed up rather simply.

The merge addresses pretty much every complaint within the game. "File Size, Save Incompatibility" etc...
We knew it was going to take this long as their goal back in June was for this to be released by the end of the year.

The only real thing that people should be mad about is that they missed their release target and the radio silence.

On Dec. 17th Blue sounded like he thought the Alpha should be ready to go by the end of the year, but that the release probably wouldn't be ready for at least a few weeks after. Given that, it feels like they thought that the merge should be relatively close to complete, which makes this radio silence somewhat mystifying.

If your complaining about wasting money with no new content over the last 6 months, well it was announced 6 months ago that this was going to be the case. In reality you should be upset about losing 2 months worth of pledges, which is still bad mind you, but not 7/8. Blue has been transparent about everything until this recent silence.

I'd expect Blue to lose quite a few Patreons next month. When new people sub the amount gets updated instantly, but when people unsub it doesn't come into the tally until the payment for the next month is due. Curious to see how much that number falls tomorrow.

I think the main problem is that they think the merge will solve these problems.. It won't.. they're just making it into an another big standalone game. I am not expecting any new gameplay mechanics or anything would make it worth playing the game again.

They meged days into weeks, now weeks into months. it's all the same. I don't understand why they're doing it. Maybe gaining time before releasing new content to Milk patrons? perhaps... But I am 100% sure that after this 1st month update, we still need to move our save files from 1st month to the 4th week update folder AFTER downloading whole game again and again and again.. this is a shitshow.

It's explicitly to dive in and fix those things before moving on. The Month 1 merge isn't just them slapping the days together. If it were, we wouldn't be where we are at the moment.

What benefit would there be to milking their customer base like this, when it's clearly pissing everyone off? I can already think of a much more efficient way of doing that, that would make them look fine.

I know that everyone, especially Patreon people, are disappointed in the complete radio silence. So here's how you can speed up both the update and the information about it:

The end of the month is coming, which means that Patreon is gonna charge you cash soon. So you do three things:

1. Post that you are stopping the support for this game on Patreon until there are updates, somewhere the dev will see.
2. Stop the support on Patreon.
3. (optional) buy $GME
4. Sit back and watch the concept of time preference rear its head at the devs.
5. Watch how they react.

If enough people do it, we just might see a status update sooner.
Dude What the hell, Blue Cat talked about it, look for his post on patreon, Dont spit on things if you don't have the integrity to look for them

Nah I wasn't, though I can see why you would think cause you've been more active on the forums, sorry if that was misconstrued, and granted I was a little heated. Probably shouldn't have used bootlickers, but I've been away from f95 for a while so after checking like the last 30-50 pages of replies I just got heated.

She is in one scene without DM patch. She's a bit more present with the patch.
