I am pretty sure a lot of you did not read anything Skummy posted

He stated time and again how he was frustrated with the delay waiting for the merge and the incompetence of the team. They were also hanging him out to dry with the promise dates they wanted him to tell us and then failing and he said at one point that final date if they missed it, he would never come back or defend them again.

They missed it.

He hasn't been back.

(EDIT)
opiex942 Of course he would be on Discord he still wants the VN to continue, that has nothing to do with this thread

Also why wouldn't he still come to F95 and all the threads he has come to before, that has nothing to do with this thread

Your whole post is basically useless info that doesn't support your random conclusion that he lies in wait to come post an "I told you so"

What it does circumstantially show is that the frustration and toxicity of this thread and the actions of BC team left him never wanting to return here, this specific thread.
I did read his posts, extensively, which is why I know that he has threatened to never defend them again and quit if they missed a deadline no less hen 4 times. I have also defended him on several occasions much as you are doing now and had a few private correspondences as well. Was curious if anyone knew what he was up too. And yeah skummy received a lot of hate for being the only reachable punching bag and he didn't deserve that, but he was also a terrible PR guy and was actively hostel and antagonistic towards the community even before he started receiving hate and he did deserve all the blowback he got from that.

Well I am coming back to this thread to see what is going on.

Is it still the phone and tracking app that is giving the problem to this once great game or is there something else going on?

If its the phone and tracking app then get rid of it and and just make the game without it, posting on who, what and where separately would be just fine for me I just want the story to continue.

So anyone got the real info on this once great game?

People are starting to realize.......
starting to realize? his numbers and income have steadily dropped since 2020. zoom out in time and you will see every month he lost subs over the previous month for over 2 years.

Exactly. 2020 was the last time this game got a real update. The smart ones like me dipped out when things started looking shady. Now, even the most die-hard followers are starting to get that they are nothing but cows to BlueCat. Cows to be milked.

Not sure why people that are not Patrons care so much, but payments stopped last March. Just because they have people still there doesn't me they are being charged. Refer to the analytics to see income the blue line and when it disappeared.

If you're basing this off the analytics site linked... you would be wrong I think. The earned income amounts are only tracked while the user on patreon has it enabled on the website. BlueCat would've turned that feature off back in March and is why it shows that way.

To give two comparisons, Naughty Sandbox ( ) doesn't hide their patreon income and it is reflected on the analytics and you can see it on their patreon page, whereas Caribdis (makers of Eternum, ) don't show their income but would've if you set the graph to 2 years you can see they did at some point and thus on their patreon page you can't see how much they earn.

Ah, I was so excited when it finally came back to life, and now it's gone just like that. They can't all last I guess, it was good while it did.

hey Dukez unrelated to this out of curiosity, think you can make another merge with the new content available?

Prob banned, BC has created his own little echo chamber of simps lovely patrons in his Discord. Nothing short of praising him at this point will be given an answer. It's been proven that a basic merge doesn't take more than 24 hours to create. It's a true milking situation at this point and no one but his simps lovely patrons can deny it. Only thing that can be done at this point is meme about it or move on.

But I AM saying cut him some slack.
I have seen so many promising games over the years which weren't simply abandoned but simply marked as finished when this was simply not the case.
I've seen some games that were marked as abandoned and weren't the devs just took like a year between each update which sucks but I think this particular case is a little more extreme since his been promising the merge update for over 2 years and has failed to deliver it.

I think the merge in itself being merged before month 1 is complete is flawed because there's still like what, 5-8? days before there would be a "month" of in-game days so this should've arguably been done beforehand or alongside at the very least but we only got one update with 2? "days" of content since that over 2 year timespan. What about the other days? they should've been released while this "merge" was being done like all the updates before this were done and by the time the merge is complete it would include ALL days for the first month, not only 3/4 which is what the current merge would result in.

I also think people have 'cut him some slack' but that ran out.. like a year or more ago. Fact is, he should've changed the goal of the merge if it was in development hell and as I've suggested before just clean up what you have, make it work and merge it like the version I did myself. Then come month 2 you would merely load a save and it can convert over the data into the new save format which many other games here already do on their season/chapter etc style games.

It's just sad the state of it and the sheer stubbornness of BlueCat to not adapt cause of the issues to get something out sooner. If I could do a half baked merge in a day than anyone who has more experience with renpy/python should be able to clean up the features that don't work and make it functional and good enough - no editing renpy's source code required to build a new save system :)WaitWhat::KEK:).

Perhaps BlueCat is trying to chase perfection.. perhaps there is redone renders and so on but I doubt it, I would just expect some minor tweaks here and there but if he was chasing perfection to that degree that it takes this long, you would think you would want to fully own your creation which is not the case when using illusion products from what I've seen. If he ever planned to "sell" the game traditionally after it's done well.. he won't be able too lol.

But we aren't to the end of the year yet so there's still time for BlueCat to release something but that aside, I guess I wrote a little wall of text as well lol.

Nice to know people can still state reasonable opinions instead of just "facepalming" everything which I find rather disrespectful. As soon as people read a single line they don't agree with it's the facepalm which is not only saying I disagree but more like "wow he disagrees with me so he is a complete idiot who's opinion can't even be taken seriously and has to be ridiculed".
You may a little too thin skinned for the interwebz my friend. Expectations for not getting facepalmed while attempting to "douse the flames" in effort only is futile. The time that has elapsed with Bluecat doing little to nothing both for the merge or attempting to be communicative and transparent is the direct reason for the outcries and speculations of misdeeds and abuse of patron donations.

You've also made a few logical fallacies in your discourse. Namely arguing that people state opinion (whether milking or intentionally vindictive on Discord etc.) as fact. If it's an opinion it cannot be fact and those claiming so are just as wrong as you here. You can construct a good argument for it but in the end it's simply what one believes.

Another is comparing ES to other games/devs. Just because they make porn games does not mean they have the same integrity towards their patrons, the same drive or passion to make their game. The same technical knowledge or work ethic to accomplish what they set out to do or even the same temperament to be social in places like Discord.
What may be used are similar patterns one can observe over time between and speculate but the outcome can be completely different but as they say "Burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me".

You admit the delays and mistakes (your words) are not justifiable or that we shouldn't blame shift, so I have to ask...Why feel the need to "douse" anything on here? You must realize it won't change anyone's mind that already believe Bluecat failed and will probably never regain their respect. While those that still have hope will hope and agree with you.
Confirmation bias being a thing, I seriously question the motive for such posts, kind of like those that hate NTR going on a thread of an NTR game and saying, "This has NTR, it sucks. I'm not playing it". Really???

If all you wished was to give your opinion, you must accept that some will disagree and facepalm you for it. Again, that's the internet for you. Like it or not.
