That does make sense. I would expect that the biggest contributors would either back out or reduce their contribution, at least until Month 1 is released. I can see how those at the bottom rung of contributions may stay on because 1) it's not a big investment for them, especially those who are already supporting multiple projects, or 2) they may see it as a way to cheaply keep updated on the progress.Regardless, he has lost multiple higher level supporters in the past year. It's the only way his earnings are down 43% yet patron count is only 28% down.

Even with waning confidence, I expect many of the lower tier patrons will remain. From what I gather from Skummy, the updates the higher tiers get is more detailed and that may be why we still see some $50 and $100 contributors on Patreon.
