Wait a minute, this dev can BARELY handle making this game, but he wants develop something else on the side. Usually I joke when I say a game will be released in 3000, but it's not a joke this time.
Well, I doubt it's every going to be finished. Looks like someone had a couple of good weeks, designed the game and after that more or less lost interest and now works a day or two a month on it. I mean, we didn't really get any major updates after the first release and it's going to be a year soon.

Yeah I'm really frustrated with this. Decent concept, some fun gameplay so far like sneaking through the town naked, and good writing.

But the last actual update was a really, really long time ago and it doesn't even look like they're close to the next one. I have 0 interest in a second project, and I don't understand why so many devs think people are happy with that.

if this ever gets updated i'm gonna need a save, no way I am going to replay that beach scene, if you are gonna have an event like that at least warn the player to save before you end the version.

The game has a built in "jump to a certain scene" feature. There is no need for a new save just go to the door at the top left of the screen at the start of a new game, and you can jump to whenever you want. This is pretty smart for a game like this.

I am not sure why this update is taking so long, but they have said this is their first time doing a game so I'll cut them some slack. As long as the next update is fairly large everything is fine. They keep redoing things which isn't bad, but it's just taking time. The art and the themes of the game are enough to keep me interested. Not a lot of other games feature enf as well as they do. As long as they put Era in more precarious situations with her also finding people to help I'll stay interested. Personally I do not think making 2 games at once will slow them down too much since they just split it anyways (It's not like they were making 1 quickly anyways and this probably won't double the time for updates). At this point I am almost more interested in game 2 currently.

So, this update is just an old minor update ?

(I assume it's old because there isn't anything new about this game on their patreon)

Talk to the blacksmith.
I thought so too, but I can't find the blacksmith. At his shop there is only his niece.

Edit: Nevermind the above... it seems to be a timing thing. When you do the flower storyline directly after you get the task it works out fine. Otherwise the Niece won't help you.

I agree. I once told here that they are worth at least $1 support, but now even $1 is questionable. They have (or he/she is) a good artist, but sadly it will take forever.

That's why I ususally only start to pledge after three or four real updates, so the dev has shown that he's able to deliver more or less consistent content and quality. Way too many games basically end after one or two "real" updates and then don't get any updates at all of stuff like this here happens.

I just played the game, and I must say, this is one of the best RPGM games I've ever played.
It's not that boring grind fest that makes your dick soft. You just go right into action with almost no battles.
The art is awesome, the concept is refreshing, and the humorous atmosphere makes you enjoy every fetish, even if that's not your cup of tea, like rape and exhibitionism.

However, reading the comments made me really disappointed. I was hoping to see a big game with some actual innovation, but nah, it's just the same story we've all already seen.
People are starting to notice this, and soon we'll not see many devs/artists getting much money on Patreon anymore. This kind of practice does not look good for the indie industry. Oh well. Let's hope for the best.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I didn't know that, I'll remember that and yeah, I agree that starting a second project isn't smart.
I can only really accept it for Dating my Daughter dev since he couldn't keep that project on patreon and needed another one to keep making money and I really like Melody and his writing.

It's an inherent problem with the genre of EraHunter. Unfortunately there's only so much you can do with ENF themes in a game. There's only so many ways to lose clothes. The issue for devs with this is finding ways to keep it entertaining, despite retreading the same territory.

It kind of reminds me of Bungies comments about the original Halo, and having to make 30 seconds of fun last the entire campaign.

This isn't like Halo because we're not talking about gameplay, we're talking about story contrivences. All you need to do is justify this shit. It aint that hard.
First, identify the problems.

First up, am I expected to believe that she had one shirt, total? And that her only 'shirt' was actually a bikini top that barely covers her nipples?
Second: Given that she already dresses like an nudist, why is her losing her bikini top a big deal?
Third: Why is she willing to continue risking her clothes for no reason even after having her 'shirt' stolen? (bathing seemed like a totally random choice, and the outcome was entirely predictable)

Ok so the solution is to start her off with actual clothes. The shorts are fine but the jacket covers nothing and the 'shirt' aint working.
Start her off with a a real t-shirt (probably white) then use story events to sabotage them somehow.
If her shirt is white then you can play with water and have it turn see-through for a scene or two, then maybe a monster tears it or a slime dissolves it.
Justify her having no spares (poor? possibly a fire in her home destroyed all of her clothes?)

She could have a full-sized jacket that gets torn or burned or something and what's left is converted into the half-jacket that she starts with.
If that jacket and her bra is all she has left, then it'd explain why she wears it all the time.

As for her bathing, maybe she had to wash the slime-acid off before it burned her skin. Justify shit.

Not sure how you could justify the beach-scene though. The entire point is that she doesn't want to run around half-naked, so convincing her to willingly run around totally naked while interacting with people seems like a no-go.
There's also the fact that her 'friend' puts forth no effort to convince her to do it at all, but she agrees anyway.

You need to cook up an excuse for her to not have any clothes, and to have a bucket of paint nearby. Make it so that her choices are between the paint bikini or being openly naked.
Maybe she's taken a part-time job handing out fliers to try to earn money for new clothes, and her boss supplied a swimsuit for her to wear on the beach.

Something goes wrong, the swimsuit falls apart at the far end of the beach. She has to get back to her bag of clothes without being seen, and her friend suggests the paint as a stopgap.
Then you just need to have her boss be blocking the way to her bag and not be willing to move until she hands out all of her flyers (preferably because the boss doesn't recognise why she so desperately needs to get changed, because he's fooled by the paint)

There. It's not perfect but I put atleast a little bit of effort into justifying her choices and actions.

One of the things mentioned in the post I quoted was how every one of these games seems the same these days, and that was what I was originally replying to.

I'll definitely agree that the story is weak, though. I'd love to see something more along the lines of what you posted there as a storyline. One of the things I'm always a sucker for is a well-written story where the clothes start out normal, and slowly go away, instead of being instantly rigged for immediate gratification. The tease is as important as the reveal, if not more so.

So apparently their excuse is that 2 people cant work on the same RPG-Maker game at the same time, which has to the most asinine excuse I have ever heard.

I do sort of understand (but not really). I hope that it's a matter of not knowing how RPGMaker works / not being computer literate enough for the task, rather than simply an excuse :(

They're actually going forward with the second game, this project is absolutely dead.

"Thought we should make a post about EraHunter too, so that it won't seem like we're focused on the second project x) Right now we're working on EraHunter.
As an experiment we redid a part of the 1 day. It turned out well and we came to the conclusion that it is worth continuing the alteration and refinement.

And before you ask, the old saves will not work ^_^

The day 4 is almost finished. But we're still thinking whether it is worth including the 5th day to the 4th, or it is better to release the 5th day later separately.

And that is why the artist has time for the second game. Also the reason we make posts about Nika because we don't want to make spoilers on EraHunter x))"

Don't know where you got that info from but they clearly are working on two games and are currently working on erahunter.
