I don't think you understand how this works. In the past year they've added like 2 scenes; and now they announce they're working on a second project, so that already super long development time gets doubled. Before I could have cared less that they took such a long time to release updates considering how much they made, but adding a second game because "2 people cant work on a RPGM at the same time" is inexcusable.
It's called "calling yourself a dev but not being able to know your own limits". Since they already work so slow you might think they died in mid work they surely need a second project.
Well to be fair Brozeks&Co has dropped how many games now, 3? At least these guys still claim to be working on it, even if it will never be done.

I think it's pretty save to assume that you won't have to wait. They basically released one normal update and a couple of smaller fixes and minor additions. So the game was somewhat dead from the start and I wouldn't expect anything anymore.
You have to keep in mind that the Dev probably has a life (job, family ect..) but the development is slow. I would have to agree this game might not be moving forward, and will probably die out. I'm not sure how many Patreons the dev has, if you go on the devs Patreon page you should be able to find blogs posts about whats going on!
Well, I think there's a line to be drawn. The game was released more than a year ago and basically nothing has happened since that first release and the first update except some very minor changes and very little added content.
I'm not disagreeing with your post I first quoted, I'm not sure if the dev is (but believe he or she is) a newbie to game making. There's been little content and the game has been changed, internal workings, different maps, ect.. But little in content the last 3-4 times an update was given it had to do with a quest on the beach but nothing further, I remember she was suppose to sneak past two or three people to get back into town but the recent update I think that was removed for the time being. It is an interesting game but I dont think it will make it much further. AloneXP has been in development for something like 7 years, and but there's weekly updates, however the content when an update is released is little to nothing!
What does that even mean? Free to not play what? There hasn't been anything to not play.
