Your character can beat anyone, but he can also rape anyone, which I think is more absurd. Without Danmaku, people like Yukari and Yuyuko can straight up one shot anything. I think even Flandre can insta-kill shit, so most of these girls could solo even some super heroes from Western IPs, which is not something one would just brush off. Even if they are obeying the rules, you think one of them would snap you out of existence when they found you balls deep in them. The girls don't exactly try to rape each other, and not every girl in the Touhou universe either.
I completely agree with you there, the strangest thing is that there WAS a game over condition in earlier versions, but it was for something stupid along the lines of where using time stop too much would rarely get a "chupacabra" (or rather just an edgy picture of Rumia) to kill you.
Thing is, Sakuya has never had problems with "time monsters" and you'd think that would come up at some point if it was a thing since she's a heavy abuser of TSP herself.
There is also canonically a chupacabra in 2hu named Tupai owned by Lady Smugbat, but it's not likely to be capable of/nor want to do that (although the bugger is hella fast and jumps around like a frog hopped up on every speed enhancing drug imaginable, no wonder they needed Sakuya to catch it), and it also looks more like a spiny Ayy Lmao than an edgy Rumia.

My guess is its original intention was a dev trolling as a jumpscare or something, though I imagine after the initial shock it just becomes a nuisance as someone would be annoyed at being forced to start over the day for RNG reasons, so the mechanic being gone isn't really a bad thing.

I wouldn't be against the "rape actually being punished" thing though if that's what you're insinuating be it with instant death or otherwise. Much more plausible for that to happen than getting a "3 strikes you're out" redcard for innocuously talking to someone while they're drunk at a party.
If anything, Yukari is certainly capable of killing you, and so is Ran. Yuyuko if I remember can straight up just will people to die, and most of the other girls are just physically OP. Meiling could probably Kano you to death, Sakuya could impale you with a knife for every day of the year at the same time, Suika and Yuugi are fucking onis and would just shit stomp you no effort. Giving you an angry stare and a finger waggle for rape makes it look like it's common for girls to get raped.
I'm not kidding about that finger waggle, I think rape has actually only gotten me one hate mark before, and even if you got two, the Pantylord can erase at least the two star one, and you can stuff them with chocolates so you can stuff them with more cock.

Even though it still kinda inaccurate, combat level still able to reflect the power level to some extent. I don't think it possible for human to defeat anyone with A+ combat level (and that was standard level for most girls)
but some how MC defeat was able to defeat Lunarian princess.
Danmaku or no I don't think those lump of pride will holding back, which kinda implied that MC can actually survive and win against serious youkai attack, so yeah it kinda absurd.
This is just a parody but it still kinda fun to think about narrative implication from all that.

2huK has a lot more you can do with the command filter if you choose to use it compared to some of the other games, in "prison mode" they won't choose to do any of the actions that you have filtered. This makes it probably the most useful of all the filters in the games thus far.
Hopefully this isn't "fixed" in the future as I like keeping them from doing SM, male nipple and butt stuff as it's fun to mess around in a makeshift sandbox-type gameplay where your character gets "captured" and used as breeding stock and basically make it a game of your favorite 2hus + offspring against one another. Best way to do that is with using the cheats to switch who has you captive that turn every turn and use the filter to turn off most things that aren't V penetration. Can further customize by setting 2hus you don't want around out of play, or making it so only 2hus acquainted with you can reverse rape you in the options.
Also yes, you can also restrict it to only wholesome stuff using said filter if that's your thing.
Do keep in mind more than one "torturers" can complicate the matters with how the AI is basically selecting randomly with some influence from their preferences, and as you've learned, choose to target one another instead of your character.

With how interactions with new characters go I guess it doesn't matter how much time passes, PC's tea still sucks, your acquaintances just don't tell you so you don't feel bad lol.

Take it as you learn more of their taste, therefore your tea suit their palette more than the beginning will make you feel a little better. Denizen of Scarlet Devil Mansion are the major offender, they didn't have to insult my tea that hard...
Scarlet Devil Mansion home really come with a lot of perk. Beautiful layout, easy access to casino, nice traffics and activity to do. Overall a nice place to start the first run with, but it came with a little stupid problem that I can't solve: Sake making.
Sure, Misty lake water are good for producing normal sake, but it also mean you can't make unrefined sake by yourself therefore you can't make Akumochizake either.
